    I really appreciate that the owner knows how and can make the product himself. Seems very rare in today’s world.

      this guy invented the 3 pieces cranck , cause his kid broke too much crancks during bmx races. PROFILE make automobile racing parts before to make bmx parts.

    So stoked that Profileracing is still alive and well. I’m running their cranks, stem and hubs. Quality products, well worth the price 👍👍

    • @markifi
      @markifi 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      1100-1400 usd for cranks, stem and hub, and no chainring? they're beautiful, but you could buy a full xt groupset for a third of that (not bmx, but ok)

    • @johnlopez4089
      @johnlopez4089 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@markifi profile is totally pricey but I think most of it’s stuff is still 100% guaranteed to the original purchaser.

    It's the only BMX crank I use. I don't even bother looking at other cranksets, I just go right to Profile and order up what I need.

    Bringing new designs to life with old school methods of manufacturing. Never change this. When I was younger I remember every kid in my town that had profile cranks and being envious of them. I asked my mom for profile cranks for Christmas one year from dan's comp, and she went to a bike shop near us and they talked her into redline cranks because they didn't sell profile. 😥 I pretended to be happy even though inside I was crushed.

    Wow, didn't know Profile is just 1.5 hr north of me!!! I always try to support local manufacturers. When I was in IN I bought Sun Rims, so it looks like I'll be adding Profile products to my bikes!!!

    I broke my DH cranks (Funn Hooka DH) two years ago, got a little crash on the road, also got a scar on my elbow. Since then I do not trust to aluminum cranks. I've installed CrMo BMX cranks and didn't have a single issue with them. Love them.

    I knew Profile Cranks were something special all the way back in the 80's when I first saw the spline count on the spindle compared to the 401 Flights I was running at the time. Great video, what a kind guy.

  • @craigbehnke1986
    @craigbehnke1986 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    wow, that took me back to the early 1980's when I was a 10-13 year old kid! I started racing BMX back then and the 2 best cranksets you could buy were the redline flight's and the profiles. Which brand you bought put you into a certain camp, it was a big deal, it was like the Ford vs Chevy camps that the neighborhood dad's would settle into. So cool to see the owner/inventor still crafting away all these years later.

    A truly educational video, Jim. Thanks for the walk thru of a legendary BMX product. Man, you sure are very "hands on". I run a pair of Elites and it's nice to know Profile's owner fabricated those cranks personally. (All my BMX bikes are Profile crank spec'd)... Keep up the amazing work you and your crew provide in the cycling industry.
    PS- I'm patiently awaiting the return of the Elite (nickel plated) chainrings to your inventory. I need finish a custom build and I cannot settle for less quality!! Please let me know when??
    Cheers!,

    Really wished you guys would somehow integrate that (dub-tail fixture?) design you use from building your stems for your cranks & axle. Maybe an odd number for a two bolt clamp down. Never really trusted the spline design for any type of weight distribution, those are just made for belt drives.

      It’ll be close. Depending on your shoe size, your feet will more than likely touch your pegs as you pedal. I’d say try some 165 or 160 mm cranks to play it safe 🤟🏼
