Actually even better and more specific...he drank the night before and his schedule guy was off by just enough time that they didn't let him on the flight so they had to reschedule. Once that plane hit the tower Seth told the bartender he was supposed to be on that flight and basically gave him a free open bar whatever he wanted to drink about it.

No one owns language over anyone else. Everyone uses it as seems meaningful to them. An atheist can say things like "swear to god" and "oh my god" and mean more or less the same thing as a person of standard level of religiosity. (Though maybe not the same as an intensely devout person.)
