He wasn't to keen on taking her money deal just a few days ago... He only took it "because I have a wedding to pay for" and "on top of Andys freedom". The only thing that has changed since than, is that Diane might be in the line of fire... She got arrested and almost evicted... and he PROMISED Andy not to get her (and Vic) in any danger. So they are planning something drastic to stop the Whites....
The only way, they can make me not resent Robert after this, is if Aaron is in on it all. And this is their last idea to take down the Whites. Giving Becks enough bait to give it her all, for a chance to be with Robert afterwards. Congratulations to the Emmerdale planners, in under a month they managed to undermine all they achieved with the crash week and the aftermath. They've made Rebecca look like a desperate airhead who can't take no for an answer and hit the rewind button on what a great character Robert was becoming - if they had this brain fart simply to get viewers talking (or screaming, depending on our levels of anger at this) it's job done, unfortunately for us fans.
Although I am not happy that Robert allowed the kiss to go that far I can clearly see that Rebecca is the one doing all the work. Robert just allowed the kiss to continue because he wants her to believe that there is a chance for them. I am not happy but I will not dislike Robert until he gives me a massive reason. Robert is completly manipulating Rebecca, everything he says to her is a manipulation, her even being in Emmerdale at all is a manipulation. Rebecca has no reason to care abt Andy's freedom she's never even meet him, Robert has to make her think there is smth in it for her. Robert's goal is to clear Andy 's name, a peace of Home Farm would just be a bonus, but Rebecca exposing what Lachlan, Chrissie and Lawrence have done to the Village and the whole Sugden family has wrecked Robert's plan so no he has to handle things with Rebecca differently. That is why he's not just coldly regecting her and thats why he's saying these things. He's fighting for his brothers freedom.

So Robrons best moments and heart felt speeches were less than 3 weeks ago. Together they hardly have had any airtime since and when they do it's this crap? Whoever wrote this episode hasn't a clue. That kiss would never have happened and he wouldn't have said this is not the time or this isn't about us. This show is so ridiculous when it comes to infidelity.
It is strange that the writers were so careful to show the steps of Robert's evolution to someone Aaron could trust, therefore this reversal to being Rebecca's toy is totally out of character - Robert manipulated Rebecca into having an affair with her sister's boyfriend, but he's unable to control her at all when she's literally a stranger in a strange land. I'm disappointed in the sloppy way they've chosen to bring drama back into the Robron universe.

Don't get me wrong this is a stupid plan he has going but it doesn't take away from who has become. I think the fact that he can't see how out of his depth speaks to how different he is. I don't know. I think this is good for him as a character to be so out of depth.
I'm not so sure he is out of his depth. The family at home farm are clearly on their way out of this show - I think that much is obvious from the direction that their storylines have been taking. Maybe the idea is that Robron will take over it? They've spent years re-iterating the fact that Robert was much better at running Lawrence's company than anybody else, including Lawrence. It seems like a realistic fit, and it would be a really interesting storyline for Aaron's character who has done like literally everything else.
Can't really see a Dingle at Home Farm! Besides, the occupants of the house on the hill are always temporary - you've got to live in the Village to have any staying power on this show.

They are not going to lose any viewers. Emmerdale is a big show and neither Robert nor Aaron (and I´m a fan of Aaron) bring in the viewers more than the others. Nobody is essential for the show. Nobody. Ratings stay the same regardless.

This is good that the kiss was stopped again and he told her not now. Yeah, he should say he is engaged to Aaron and those luscious lips are just for him alone, but Rebecca could sense something and back away a little. Do what you need to get something in return.

If craftily written, I don't mind Robert's character to be a bit careless in his sexual relationships. Also, I think he has good chemistry with Rebecca which is something often missing with him and Aaron.

Ok didn't take long for Emmerdale to go back to the same old soapy cliches did it ? - ffs. Sorry but this is just not worth my time anymore, i think i'd rather leave the story of Aaron and Robert to end as I know it should, not be manipulated by cynical story writers. It's very frustrating when good story lines turn into cringe inducing rubbish as they inevitably seem to do. It's been great until this point with some very rewarding and at times difficult themes, subjects and great acting, but, if they persist along this line I'll be tuning out.
Am I the only one who enjoys this storyline? I like a bit of drama and I am sure that Aaron and Robert will get through this, they are strong together. Have a little confidence in them! ;)
I get this show needs drama but making the bisexual man a cheat does that nor confirm the stereotype? And the writers always making Robert the bad guy it gets old. Although I will admit the kiss between Ryan Hawley and Emily Head is more passionate than he ever had with Louise Marwood. I feel Rebecca and Robert do have chemistry.

But at the core, Robert still loves Aaron, I mean he saved his life twice AND proposed marriage, BUT he's vindictive and while Andy's framing by the Whites gives him an opportunity to legitimately strike back at the Whites it is also a door to getting his foot back in the door at Home Farms and he needs Becs for that. He is very tempted by her, but it is only to get back into Home Farms, a business he feels he contributed a lot to. But that is not what Diane will talk about--Diane heard betrayal of her and the family and she saw betrayal of Aaron. When Chas or Adam find out...well let's just say, RIP, Robert.
122avis But why? Robert got £500,000 pounds from Lawrence after divorcing Chrissie. She also gave Robert money as well. Lawrence owns the company I get that Robert hates the whites but he just comes across as a greedy bastard. He seems hungry for power despite screwing Chrissie over he never loved her. The Whites gave him money to go away. The writers have not explained Robert motivation enough. He just comes across as extremely greedy and he is inconsiderate to Aaron feelings.

Money which shortly exchanged hands between Robert and Charity to pay for her share of the hauling company and allow her to finally pay for the purchase of Diane's half of the pub. He's really only kept the undisclosed sum that Chrissie gave him in the divorce. (And given that he seems to be Aaron's personal piggy bank, though, admittedly, it's often against or without his better judgement, Robert probably has less free-floating cash than when Chrissie finally dumped him for good.)
Andrew Simpson I disagree with one point in that I do believe Robert loved Christie, as much as his character is/was capable of loving someone. But Now that he's the different man, this? I hope he's playing her. Diane walks in & hears that it's "all abt home farm" & not getting Andy off is going to play interestingly, and, perhaps, give us more of an insight into just what he's up to. In the end, he is one of the main villains. Who are we kidding? RobRon has little chance of succeeding in the long run. Unless Aaron becomes one too.
To be honest I am kind of looking forward to seeing how Robert handles this, will he feel guilty and be able to keep it from Aaron or will he worry more about losing his chance on getting the farm. We will see if he's really changed or if he's still the same horrible man he was when he first returned to Emmerdale, either way as much as I've come like Robert I still think Aaron could do and deserves so much better.
I've been thinking about this kiss and we all know Rebecca can get to Robert after what she did before he then realized he couldn't live without Aaron in his life. but she planned that kiss perfectly get him talking about old times, butter him up and then plant it on him, Robert would have been flattered he more than likely thought I could use this so to help (not one of his best plans) so yes It was stupid of Robert to kiss her back to start with but he did push her away when he realized he couldn't go any further, remember he said to Aaron that he lies, cheats and will do anything to get what he wants for the people that matter to him. I think in the pass he would have given into Rebecca and gone hell for leather but you could see he couldn't when he pushed her away because he LOVES AARON and he know it will hurt him, if it had been anyone else he was with like Chrissie he would have taken Rebecca upstair and that would be that, but he didn't, he couldn't so he stopped it. I know what he said afterwards didn't make sense but remember he had been drinking, just been kissed and had plans running round his head, probably said first thing that came to him but like a lot of people think, I think Robert is in way over his head and is still trying to keep Rebecca onside but we all know he needs Aaron's help. But I'm liking the thought of a jealous Aaron can't wait for him to find out and give Robert HELL. Maybe it's because I don't want all the character development to be destroyed, and for that whole speech about finally wanting to be himself with Aaron because he can now accept who he is - plus not wanting bisexuality to be made a mockery of, as always - but I kind of want to believe the entire thing is one big plan. In order to truly be in with Rebecca, Robert needs everyone and everything to be convincing to get what he wants, and if Aaron knows and is helping him make people think he's up to his old tricks, then so be it. Andy's freedom, and ruining that awful family, are both worth doing it for, so he's playing along. And, sure, Robert did kiss back, but from all we've seen, his heart so wasn't in it, and he couldn't stomach it for long, so he's going far enough to keep her hoping, to manipulate her into being exactly what he needs, but not so far he's actually being unfaithful.

Such a yawn fest to me this SL with Robert and the Whites. I can't stand Chrissie or Lachlan, am bored to death of Lawrence - I was actually quite excited when I saw the first photos of Rebecca, she looked _exactly_ as I'd pictured her in my mind (except I thought she'd be brunette) and seemed like she could be _fun_ trouble. But she keeps coming off weak and pathetic to me, following Robert with puppy dog eyes and throwing herself at him when he's said no over and over again. Even her entrance in hindsight seems like a pathetic attempt to copy that of Sadie King.. And now the completely sh* inconsistent writing! Not too long ago, we had Robert pull away from her kiss with a look of disgust on his face, thanking her for proving he felt nothing for her anymore. And unless I've missed something (entirely possible as the show's been such cr* lately, I haven't been watching as intently as before), all this time, Robert's been about nothing _but_ Andy - but now all of a sudden, it's about Home Farm? Gimme strength. Even if this is some big plan like many are saying (and I think it is), Aaron's just supposed to put up with it? 'Oh yeah, _fiancé_, I've been smooching a bit here and there with this chick I had a few years ago, but it's all good, I have a plan!' Especially since I don't think Aaron gives a toss about the big house. Beyond disappointing, and I'm _this_ close to not giving a damn about the stupid show.

oh my god, what a drama ! the kiss was poor & boring writing and producing. but the acting was good : ryan was a robert tense and unreadable like an acrobat. and now we know better that robert is after home farm, but we knew already that the guy is not attracted by poverty. and that to keep the chance open is willing to play rebecca game. to a point. i do not see, as now, other signs of future cheating. the air would be better if they would soon have robert talk openly to aaron about it. but that would reduce the thrill so i guess that a sloppy writing (like the current) is not gonna do it. the sad thing is that emmerdale just showed us, in the last few weeks, that also a soap can be quality tv, so they could have put some pepper over the robron glacing in much better ways. but they did not.

So they are planning something drastic to stop the Whites....
The only way, they can make me not resent Robert after this, is if Aaron is in on it all. And this is their last idea to take down the Whites. Giving Becks enough bait to give it her all, for a chance to be with Robert afterwards. Congratulations to the Emmerdale planners, in under a month they managed to undermine all they achieved with the crash week and the aftermath. They've made Rebecca look like a desperate airhead who can't take no for an answer and hit the rewind button on what a great character Robert was becoming - if they had this brain fart simply to get viewers talking (or screaming, depending on our levels of anger at this) it's job done, unfortunately for us fans.

Robert is completly manipulating Rebecca, everything he says to her is a manipulation, her even being in Emmerdale at all is a manipulation. Rebecca has no reason to care abt Andy's freedom she's never even meet him, Robert has to make her think there is smth in it for her. Robert's goal is to clear Andy 's name, a peace of Home Farm would just be a bonus, but Rebecca exposing what Lachlan, Chrissie and Lawrence have done to the Village and the whole Sugden family has wrecked Robert's plan so no he has to handle things with Rebecca differently. So Robrons best moments and heart felt speeches were less than 3 weeks ago. Together they hardly have had any airtime since and when they do it's this crap? Whoever wrote this episode hasn't a clue. That kiss would never have happened and he wouldn't have said this is not the time or this isn't about us. This show is so ridiculous when it comes to infidelity.
It is strange that the writers were so careful to show the steps of Robert's evolution to someone Aaron could trust, therefore this reversal to being Rebecca's toy is totally out of character - Robert manipulated Rebecca into having an affair with her sister's boyfriend, but he's unable to control her at all when she's literally a stranger in a strange land. I'm disappointed in the sloppy way they've chosen to bring drama back into the Robron universe.

I'm not so sure he is out of his depth. The family at home farm are clearly on their way out of this show - I think that much is obvious from the direction that their storylines have been taking. Maybe the idea is that Robron will take over it? They've spent years re-iterating the fact that Robert was much better at running Lawrence's company than anybody else, including Lawrence. It seems like a realistic fit, and it would be a really interesting storyline for Aaron's character who has done like literally everything else.
Can't really see a Dingle at Home Farm! Besides, the occupants of the house on the hill are always temporary - you've got to live in the Village to have any staying power on this show.

This is good that the kiss was stopped again and he told her not now. Yeah, he should say he is engaged to Aaron and those luscious lips are just for him alone, but Rebecca could sense something and back away a little. Do what you need to get something in return.

Ok didn't take long for Emmerdale to go back to the same old soapy cliches did it ? - ffs. Sorry but this is just not worth my time anymore, i think i'd rather leave the story of Aaron and Robert to end as I know it should, not be manipulated by cynical story writers. It's very frustrating when good story lines turn into cringe inducing rubbish as they inevitably seem to do. It's been great until this point with some very rewarding and at times difficult themes, subjects and great acting, but, if they persist along this line I'll be tuning out.
Am I the only one who enjoys this storyline? I like a bit of drama and I am sure that Aaron and Robert will get through this, they are strong together. Have a little confidence in them! ;)

Lawrence owns the company I get that Robert hates the whites but he just comes across as a greedy bastard. He seems hungry for power despite screwing Chrissie over he never loved her. The Whites gave him money to go away. The writers have not explained Robert motivation enough. He just comes across as extremely greedy and he is inconsiderate to Aaron feelings.

Money which shortly exchanged hands between Robert and Charity to pay for her share of the hauling company and allow her to finally pay for the purchase of Diane's half of the pub. He's really only kept the undisclosed sum that Chrissie gave him in the divorce. (And given that he seems to be Aaron's personal piggy bank, though, admittedly, it's often against or without his better judgement, Robert probably has less free-floating cash than when Chrissie finally dumped him for good.)
Andrew Simpson I disagree with one point in that I do believe Robert loved Christie, as much as his character is/was capable of loving someone. But Now that he's the different man, this? I hope he's playing her. Diane walks in & hears that it's "all abt home farm" & not getting Andy off is going to play interestingly, and, perhaps, give us more of an insight into just what he's up to. In the end, he is one of the main villains. Who are we kidding? RobRon has little chance of succeeding in the long run. Unless Aaron becomes one too.
Robert and Rebecca have good chemistry together. If/when, Aaron and Robert break up, I hope they get together.
To be honest I am kind of looking forward to seeing how Robert handles this, will he feel guilty and be able to keep it from Aaron or will he worry more about losing his chance on getting the farm. We will see if he's really changed or if he's still the same horrible man he was when he first returned to Emmerdale, either way as much as I've come like Robert I still think Aaron could do and deserves so much better.
I've been thinking about this kiss and we all know Rebecca can get to Robert after what she did before he then realized he couldn't live without Aaron in his life. but she planned that kiss perfectly get him talking about old times, butter him up and then plant it on him, Robert would have been flattered he more than likely thought I could use this so to help (not one of his best plans) so yes It was stupid of Robert to kiss her back to start with but he did push her away when he realized he couldn't go any further, remember he said to Aaron that he lies, cheats and will do anything to get what he wants for the people that matter to him. Maybe it's because I don't want all the character development to be destroyed, and for that whole speech about finally wanting to be himself with Aaron because he can now accept who he is - plus not wanting bisexuality to be made a mockery of, as always - but I kind of want to believe the entire thing is one big plan. In order to truly be in with Rebecca, Robert needs everyone and everything to be convincing to get what he wants, and if Aaron knows and is helping him make people think he's up to his old tricks, then so be it. Andy's freedom, and ruining that awful family, are both worth doing it for, so he's playing along. And, sure, Robert did kiss back, but from all we've seen, his heart so wasn't in it, and he couldn't stomach it for long, so he's going far enough to keep her hoping, to manipulate her into being exactly what he needs, but not so far he's actually being unfaithful.

Sophie Yes! I don't know why so many people buying the idea of "It is just a part of the plan". It doesn't make any sense at all because this kiss helps nothing in clearing Andy's name but only handing a leverage to Rebecca to threaten him back. Is Robert really that stupid or he is just being the old gross Robert again?
Both of these explanations are out of character in connecting the previous story.

Well what a disappointment that was i feel so sad after roberts confession of undying love a few weeks ago why on earth did they do that and even if this is part of roberts plan the hand holding and kiss wasnt no no no it was just taking the p*** out of aaron will aaron find out, will robert tell the truth or lie or even say "dont worry aaron its was only part of the plan, next time i will take her upstairs to our room" !!!! Do i want them to get married dont know now because rebeccas not going anywhere shes signed a year long contract so will go there again. Normally i'd watch new posts a couple of times, but once is enough now as this just makes me very angry. Sorry Emmerdale but you're rapidly losing me with this dishonest storyline. During Robron I've become so emotional that tears have welled, felt physically sick and loudly cheered .... you did that Emmerdale and now you dish up this. Unbelievable.
Maybe it's wishful thinking, but it does not feel like he's really interested in Rebecca. It feels like he's acting. Even the part where it's all about Home Farm not even Andy.... If it is, it must have changed now. At the beginning when he heped Andy he had no way to think that could help him get Home fam back. OK Robert is a good liar and he does sudden stupid things...but, one week he's all over Aaron and scared of losing him the next he's already falling for Becky? Mmmh. He doesn't act with Rebecca like he did with Aaron either, he's being very... passive. And I must add that if my thinking proves to be true I must salute Ryan acting skills because he menaged to get me all this just by shades
I'm really getting tired at Robert, make up your mind already man, I can see he is trying to change but, at the end it's going to be the same Robert he's always being.
Such a yawn fest to me this SL with Robert and the Whites. I can't stand Chrissie or Lachlan, am bored to death of Lawrence - I was actually quite excited when I saw the first photos of Rebecca, she looked _exactly_ as I'd pictured her in my mind (except I thought she'd be brunette) and seemed like she could be _fun_ trouble. But she keeps coming off weak and pathetic to me, following Robert with puppy dog eyes and throwing herself at him when he's said no over and over again. Even her entrance in hindsight seems like a pathetic attempt to copy that of Sadie King..
And now the completely sh* inconsistent writing! Not too long ago, we had Robert pull away from her kiss with a look of disgust on his face, thanking her for proving he felt nothing for her anymore. And unless I've missed something (entirely possible as the show's been such cr* lately, I haven't been watching as intently as before), all this time, Robert's been about nothing _but_ Andy - but now all of a sudden, it's about Home Farm? Gimme strength.
Even if this is some big plan like many are saying (and I think it is), Aaron's just supposed to put up with it? 'Oh yeah, _fiancé_, I've been smooching a bit here and there with this chick I had a few years ago, but it's all good, I have a plan!' Especially since I don't think Aaron gives a toss about the big house. Beyond disappointing, and I'm _this_ close to not giving a damn about the stupid show.
Oh yes agree with every word the only way anyone is going to get home farm is if the whites put it up for sale. Not happy about the kiss disgusting all that work to redeem Robert gone in less than 10 minutes he cheated on Aaron no excuse no matter how they write it. As for wedding plans don't even know if i want them to get married now after that. Will Robert do it again she signed a contract so Rebecca's not going anywhere i'm afraid and as for his stupid plan guess what it shouldn't include hand holding in the cafe and snogging in his fiances home on their couch. the kiss was poor & boring writing and producing.
but the acting was good : ryan was a robert tense and unreadable like an acrobat.
and now we know better that robert is after home farm, but we knew already that the guy is not attracted by poverty. and that to keep the chance open is willing to play rebecca game. to a point.
i do not see, as now, other signs of future cheating.
the air would be better if they would soon have robert talk openly to aaron about it.
but that would reduce the thrill so i guess that a sloppy writing (like the current) is not gonna do it.
the sad thing is that emmerdale just showed us, in the last few weeks, that also a soap can be quality tv, so they could have put some pepper over the robron glacing in much better ways. but they did not.
