So unfortunately the police are tasked with protecting freedom of speech in our state, they literally don't have a choice, and it costs the state. Years ago there was some crazy church from Florida that was known for burning the Quran that would come up to Dearborn, MI, which has the largest middle eastern population outside of the middle east, and they'd protest and burn books, and generally be dicks, and the city had to protect them. Of course after the 3rd time or so they said they weren't waisting tax money on them anymore (I think the city finally voted that since they weren't from Michigan they didn't have to repeatedly protect them)... and they stopped coming.

So unfortunately the police are tasked with protecting freedom of speech in our state, they literally don't have a choice, and it costs the state.
Years ago there was some crazy church from Florida that was known for burning the Quran that would come up to Dearborn, MI, which has the largest middle eastern population outside of the middle east, and they'd protest and burn books, and generally be dicks, and the city had to protect them.
Of course after the 3rd time or so they said they weren't waisting tax money on them anymore (I think the city finally voted that since they weren't from Michigan they didn't have to repeatedly protect them)... and they stopped coming.
Are they intentionally not showing the crowd size?

First, take a moment, step back, and think. If Trump was pulled off the presidential ticket, what do you think would happen? Really. Think about it for a minute.
Name 1 positive potential outcome.
We are in uncharted waters, politically speaking, but the decision of most of the judges and prosecutors is that it is more important to not create a right-wing martyr or be APPEAR to be interfering in the political process.
These charges aren’t dropped. They aren’t forgotten. Trump is not exempt from the law. It is simply thought that the best interest of the country is served best by not taking action that could be viewed as interference in the election.
It may not be palatable, but I think it is really the only way to handle this situation. Trump has already shown he has no problem resorting to violence.
It changes nothing. Vote blue. In a landslide. Make it embarrassing. Put Trump in the history books next to Herbert Hoover in absurdly one-sided defeats.
