    One more sound demo with the LaScala AL5's. You will not hear these as I hear them but you can still get an idea of the tonality of these speakers when running Pass Labs class A amplification. I have much more on the way! Thank You.

    I love my Klipsch LaScalas that were built around 1976. They look and most of all sound incredible. The imaging and just everything about the sound is totally incredible. I often hear instruments floating around and behind my soundstage in my Living Room. These are awesome speakers

    Watermelon in Easter Hay is one of the most beautiful songs ever recorded. Would give my left one to hear it through the La Scalas. Thanks for posting.

    Moving from solid state class A to single-ended tube amplification and tube DAC took my Odeon horns to a completely different level. I'd suggest at least trying single-ended again once you live with the horns for a while.

    Isn’t that room a little small to accommodate those horn behemoths?
    Moreover, hearing ol’ Frank grating his guitar ad nauseam on those 100 db+ LOUDspeakers at point blank range would make my ears bleed in no time 🥴 (!😂!).

      @@TheMeridian808 Well, I think like most of us audiophiles that is what we do. We search for perfection and tell ourselves that a certain expensive purchase will be the "one" last component we will ever need. But if we are honest with ourselves, the truth is that part of this hobby is trying out new components and speakers. Not just listening to music. Who doesn't like to open up something new? It's part of the fun!

Very sweet system you have, I've been doing this for more than 50 years, and I have always avoided Klipsch because as you said,,, they were Shouty, Blare, and finger nails across the blackboard. I need to review your take on the Cornwalls 4's. Thanks for your time, and efforts, to show rest of us, what a real system sounds like! Maybe I'll keep her car, and just settle for the Cornwalls!

    Class A is nice as I have it as amps also, but IMHO these should be hooked to a nice 300B or KT88, just saying.

      I have a 300B here and a KT88. MUCH prefer the pass labs with them. Better bass, sweeter. treble, more realistic midrange and more oomph.

    • @NateEll
      @NateEll 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The meter stays at roughly the 10 o’clock position while in class A; you’ll begin to see it move when it leaves class A

      @scaf_007vs3 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      370 watts at idle per each. Leaving them on all the time would be pointless and EXTREMELY and excessively wasteful. Turning them on 10 - 15 min ahead of time is more than enough warm up time to enjoy them.

      I know quite a few who do (use Pass), and love the combo. I have ran these with a 300B tube amp, as well as a EL34 tube amp that I have here. I prefer the Pass Class A by a mile. Oh, and yes, I bought these LaScala so you are indeed mistaken, as I am using these amps with the speakers. I have these amps in for review and am testing them with various speakers. ; ) - These are not the ideal amps for the speakers, no...so I get what you are saying.
