I've learned more from you than I learned from my professor in English, I'm 55 and almost done with my first year in college. I need college credits to promote. It's been 35 years, after earning a degree in computer science programming (never became a programmer). I'm an immigrant from the Philippines and English is my second language. I always have a hard time understanding a thesis statement and how it's different from a topic sentence. I have a hard time starting on an essay because I really don't know where to start. Thank you so much for your tutorials. I really appreciate all that you do. I wish you can do a whole series on poetry, metaphors, similes, imagery, tones, etc.
What an incredible story you have! You are amazing. Those are great suggestions; I will see what I can come up with :) Thank you for learning with us. You can do this!!!
I have indeed enjoyed the presentation which brings in an insight on the connections between topic sentences and their supporting ideas drawing it to conclusions however i missed the points on how the opinions can be drafted to gain the attention of the reader.
That is great to hear that you understand it now! Sometimes it just takes a different way of explaining. We are so happy that you are here learning with us. 📝
Thats really helpful to write...but I am still confused about using some words of transition. Is it fine using more than one transitions in the last paraghraph of concluding sentence? Thanks for your help
Thanks a million , dear Windy, for your interesting , cute tutoring videos about paragraph writing. But I kindly request a video about supporting sentences plus examples for each of your wonderful topics that you mentioned in this video. Many thanks in advance.
Thank you so much! It really helps me understand clearly about writing the concluding sentence. What would you write for the concluding sentence of this topic sentence? "A good teacher has several important qualities."
Remember - your concluding sentence needs to say the same thing or something very similar to your topic sentence using different words. Also, you want to add a little something else for the reader. Why don't you let me know what you came up with. I'd love to read it!
I really appreciate for this wonderful concept 😊 and. As said earlier The paragraph contain topic of sentence(sub + main idea) , ,detailing, conclusion sentence(Transition words+ synonymous+ opinions, advice& facts ) and this conclusion sentence will be in the. Same paragraph or different?? plz leme know.
If you are just learning to write one paragraph, then your concluding sentence will be in the same paragraph. If you are writing an essay, then your concluding sentence will come at the end of you last (conclusion) paragraph. Hope this helps! Thank you for your kind words 😃.
I have recently given my PTEs and I particularly struggled with written discourse. I stumbled upon your video lessons and learned a great deal about paragraph writing. Overall, I scored a 90/90 in my written discourse this time around and it’s all thanks to you. You have a subscriber in me!
That is such wonderful news. I am truly grateful that you shared this with me. Congratulations 🎉! Thank you for learning with us, and we wish you the best in your English learning journey!!
Absolutely. You also want to make sure that you have restated your thesis and have summed up your main point(s). As long as you have them thinking about something related to what your main point was ~ go for it!
@@WorldwideSpeak I found the definition of air from dictionary. It seems to me that this is the paragraph. It says... Air is the mixture of gases that makes up of 78 percent nitrogen, 21 percent oxygen, and argon. Carbon dioxide, other gases, and water vapor are also present in small quantities in air. There is no air on our moon. I'm not sure if the last sentence is concluding sentence. Could you clarify it for me?
