I always have those ups and downs with school.. sometimes it’s really hard to push through but I just wanted to tell you you’re not alone! ♥️ right when you’re feeling like giving up, something about nursing always sparks your love for it all over again. You’ll get there!
im a second semester nursing student and I hate how tedious writing notes is but I've found that its the best way to retain the information. I write all my notes out before my lecture and then add things my teacher mentions in another color in the margins or on sticky notes so I can differentiate the info!
What I used to do for notes was following along in the book in class. Highlight important information and write extra notes right in the book and re read everything to study!
I also typed up study guides for each chapter/section as I went along and highlighted those. To study I would use the retrieval method to figure out what I know so I can focus on the things I don’t quite understand

Notion! I feel the same, my notes take forever, but typing doesn’t do it for me. But notion with the toggle makes it easy to study
I also prefer to write out my notes in nursing school but couldn't keep up anymore during my second semester. I ended up typing my notes into Quizlet flashcards instead and that worked out really well for my med-surg and OB/peds classes!
I’m in my externship (internship) year as an ultrasound tech, and the best way I found to take notes and stuff a lot of info into my brain is I would read the chapter/lecture and highlight as I go. Then I go back through and type all my notes up and print them out, then right before the test review/highlight those notes. Some thought it was overkill, but It’s not as long as handwriting, and it really stuck into my brain and helped me a ton!! I totally understand the burn out, I went through it with all the early mornings/late nights studying & extra scanning I had to do. It’s worth it in the end though, keep pushing!💗

I type out my notes and then print them out and read back over them and highlight as i read! Going back over them seems to help me retain the information!
I’m a second semester nursing student as well and it is SO much harder than the 1st. I feel the exact same way you do about already being burnt out and just incredibly tired all the time!! You’re definitely not alone

Just finished summer of pathopharm1, med surg 1, and mental health. It was so hard. For studying, i just took notes on the teachers lecture powerpoints and then just went through all the slides and tried to memorize/repeat the information back to myself. I started out doing flashcards, but there is just no time to make them. Keep going you can do it!
I just started taking notes for nursing school on my iPad with notability and it’s life changing, to study I review the slides on there. And I put it in the half slide, half lines format(3 slides per page)
