I tolerated a lot of harsh comments on the previous playthrough about “bad at stealth” lol “bad at swinging” etc. Some of you keyboard warriors would critique the ground for being too solid. & for the people who make an effort to be kind, thank you! @@nickv1212 I don't know if we will gain more speed the more you swing, like in the first two games. I think we are going to be able to swing like it's all leveled up because the new map is so big and now the swinging is faster; we have the new wings, which make us even faster; and the fast travel (which won't be available as soon as we start the game), so I would be surprised if we can't swing fast as soon as we start.

Also, I don't remember whether you looked through the entire secret lab in Osborn's apartment, during the last main story MJ mission, but MJ can actually interact with one of the spider enclosures and mentions some abilities these spiders possessed thanks to Oscorp's experimentation. One of them being bio-electricity and optical camouflage.
Seeing your reaction to Miles' venom powers was amazing. I don't know why people are so upset with you about not knowing beforehand. I'd argue we got the cooler reaction out of it.
The reason why Miles has bioelectricity and the power to become invisible was actually referenced in the first Spider-Man game. When you're controlling MJ when she was looking inside the special room in Norman's place, you can interact with the cage with the spiders before looking at Martin LI's video. When you interact with those spiders, MJ will read that the spiders were like part of an Oscorp experiment and they were infused with biolectricity and invisibility powers. That was the cage that MJ eventually knocked over and one of those spiders came with MJ and eventually bit Miles. That is why Miles had those special powers.
It’s funny how Peter struggles to pay his rent but could afford holographic tech to train Miles. Somehow Miles was able to fabric a brand new suit within a day or so. They needed to think up something so Miles could get his more iconic suit. Miles has an interesting history in the comics. He originally appeared in the ULTIMATE line of comics. Basically a separate universe where things happen differently and people who die stay dead. In that universe, Peter died taking a bullet for Captain America. Miles later became the Spider-Man of that universe. He became such a fan favorite. When they canceled the ULTIMATE line, they found a way to bring Miles into the main universe. The games and movies have found ways to weave him into those stories from the beginning.
Dude I’ve been stuck at home with COVID for the past 4 days so this came in so clutch. So much content to watch while I recover. I think I’m in a small minority who enjoyed Miles Morales more than OG Spidey. Don’t hate me lol. Also, a little more than a week until Spider-Man 2! Let’s gooooo!
Miles naming his powers Venom Powers when Venom is an existing character is actually something that they brought to attention in the comics lol it was a fun little conversation between them, no idea whar comic it was but its out there somewhere Also if you were wondering why the dodge timing is much smaller, it's probably because youre playing on a harder difficulty that shortens the timing window, other than that i think its the same as the first game
2:12 This takes place a year later after the first game; there was an option to watch a recap just before playing this that gets you up to speed if you haven't played the first game, which we know you did, but it is cool to have a nice little recap to build excitement. 😊
In regards to asking if miles looks older, he is, miles morales takes place a year after spider-man started training miles, so a year from the final DLC scene when he takes miles webslinging for the first time.

When you use the spider app for the side stuff, some of those missions have a blue marker next to them. I think those are worth doing imo, they’ll introduce you to some of the people of Harlem and have neat little side stories. It’s a pretty short game so if you have the time, I’d recommend checking those out.
1:15:23 the activities in the FNSM app, especially the side missions, are totally relevant to the story, especially the ending. And they help connect Miles to the Harlem neighborhood, and so he truly feels like a ‘friendly neighborhood Spider-Man.’
So true, one thing I enjoy about both of these games is that the side missions help both characters show how they connect with the people of the city. For Miles, it shows that while like Peter he looks after the entire city, Harlem seems to hold a special place in his heart. The game really does help to show that in my opinion. Not to mention it is interesting to see the main characters interact on a daily basis particularly with the characters whose role may seem minor, but someone manage to have a genuine presence in the game. I think that it takes a careful balance to do that kind of thing. Just my opinion of course.
The spider that bite Miles was being tested on by Osborne. This was one of the new abilities Miles got from the bite. While he still has all the normal abilities Peter has Miles got new abilities along with the other powers. Glad to see you playing this game love watching your playthrough. Tip: You have to hold the swing button longer and then jump at the height of its swing because you seem to be cutting your swing speed down every time you swing quickly letting go of the swing button early you really have to make use of your maximum height of the swing to gain more speed and also gain more height off the ground so you don't interrupt your traversal. P.S. Press x after getting to the peak height of your swing for a boost make sure to do this often to gain even more height.
I love the detail you can tell how different they swing Miles & Peter & reminds me of the movies too all the Spider-Man’s swing differently it’s so fun to see that & love watching you play these games, & if you ever get the chance definitely check out the Daredevil Marvel show Kingpin is badass in that
Miles powers are pulled straight from the comics both his Bio-electric energy and Camouflage, invisibility, Miles is pretty spot on to his comic book counterpart. He's basically a mutate, someone who acquired a physical characteristic through exposure to one or more mutagenic agents such as chemicals or radiation, like Peter Parker as well. Should also say that Mutates (Miles) and Mutants aren't the same. Mutants are people born with an X-Gene that is "awakened" during puberty or a traumatic event leading to the person gaining some kind of special power. Mutants are born with their powers locked inside of their DNA while mutates are people who were exposured to mutagenic agents that in the case of Spider-Man warps his DNA.

the swing speed will increase as you level up and his powers which you saw (bio-electricity and invisibility) are because the spider that bit him. TIP: if you want the coolest suit, go for the "programmable matter suit" as soon as you can. it's one of the best suits 💥

18:46 Remember when you played as MJ in the first game and found a spider in Osborn’s penthouse? When you interact it, MJ read that the spider was capable of using Bio electricity, and camouflage. And that same spider eventually bit Miles, giving him its abilities.
Loved your first playthough, glad you’re doing Miles’ game already! For clarification, yes, Venom is the black villain. However, as he’s a symbiote, his abilities are referred to as such-allowing Miles’ to be called venom abilities too.
1 make sure to do the training challenges first as fast as you can. The quicker you get those done. The quicker you can feel comfortable with miles since they give you things you just had in the first game like the point launch, etc…. 2. Make sure you use your electric powers/healing sparingly so you don’t waste it so fast and need it later. Once you get more into the game you’ll get two more bars of focus that will allow you to do more with them. So I would limity two to one ability and one to another. 3 so excited to see you/ play Spider-Man 2. See you then as well.

As far as I can remember the activities on the app are indeed side missions and while serving as side stories, they also give the ending a lot more depth if you've completed them before you finish the final mission. Completeing ALL the side missions does yield an amazing costume which makes finishers even better and that I'm sure we'd all highly suggest you check out. Like the first game most of the costumes are unlocked by using rewards you get through crimes and side-misisons In the interest of time and Spider-Man 2 however, do what you think is best. Although I don't think there are actually too many side-missions, so it's probably doable without taking too much time away.
And Jason Todd and TwoFace in Arkham Knight. And funny enough, I just looked it up and apparently he voiced Robin in Arkham City too which is hilarious.
in spider-man 1 in the silver lining dlc when you finish the story of the dlc and do some side quests you hear a JJJ podcast where he has a heart attack because he found out there were 2 spider-men, i like how much detail they put in these games with the podcasts and events.

To explain the timeline; the first campaign takes place somewhere in the october-november time (the whole Issac Deleny incident occurs at a Halloween party, it may not actually have been the 31st, but it was almost certainly late October) the epilouge occured 3 months later, somewhere around January/Febuary, then the City that Never sleeps occurs over a few days some time later, so this is presumably about a year later, in December, clearly.

Miles was bitten by a different spider which was brought over from a different earth (which was explained in the Across the spider verse movie it may not be the comic way though) giving him extra abilities of camouflage and venom.
Skyytea in the comic book the original spider-man only had brut power in the later comic Miles was bitten by a radioactive brown lacluse giving him the electric power punches. The in the comics Spider-man VS Venom which is the alien spider.

Hi Sky, You caught on quickly with the combat skills including the Venom Punch. Keep investigating why the Underground is after Roxxon Energy. Also definitely complete those combat, stealth, and traversal skills that Peter left behind since you completed the first one.
If you're wondering why there are parts of the suit that Peter gave Miles that look ill fitting, it's becasue it's based on Miles' first suit from his debut in the Ultimate Comics, which was just a halloween costume based on Peter's suit, before SHIELD upgraded him to his most iconic suit later on. Also yeah, Venom is the name of the symbiote powered super villain/anti hero, as well as the name used for Miles bio-electric powers, why they chose this is unknown and yes, it is confusing. And, since you know about Prowler in the film, he is also Prowler in the comics, Miles' original origin saw Prowler rob an abandoned Oscorp plant, where an experimental spider latched onto him, coming off at his appartment, where it bit Miles when he came to visit, not entirely unlike how the spider got to Miles in this universe.
We had one live action version of Rhino in Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie I think, the Andrew Garfield one, where Rhino was introduced towards the end, in fact the premise for the Sinister Six for a supposed third movie. But Amazing Spider-Man 3 never saw the light of day.
I think the implication is that Peter and MJ both wanted to get out of the city for a while. During the DLC they both mention needing a vacation several times
Feel free to go nuts with the air tricks. Combine multiple flips, there are many combinations to try out in this game. And the transitions are so satisfying
Not sure if anyone said this yet, but definitely do the side quests with the blue markers before finishing the story. It expands on the community of Harlem and (without spoiling) makes the ending of the game soooo much sweeter!
All the skills come with practice! Remember to dive while swinging! It will help you gain speed and momentum! Later you will unlock more powers that makes playing as miles a lot more accessible than Peter! Also he is older in this! It’s been a year since the first game for him! Miles is 17 and Peter is 24 in this universe!
You need to dive press that L3. That's why you're swinging is slow. . Peter swinging is much slower than miles. I noticed it the first time i played miles morales.
Fun fact: That first suit peter gave is based miles first costume. Hes from a universe where peter died after he got his powers and the suit was gankes Halloween costume that he gives to him.
It's really something seeing so many either play for the first time or play again for the release of 2. New game releases are big, but this is really something. Also, this game dropped in 2020, and Miles is new to being a hero, so it'd make sense his swinging is less refined as Peter's.

One thing you should note is that for the final mission of the game, you should wear the suit called "classic suit" (I think). It was from the spider that bit him. It gave Miles the same powers as Peter, but the spider also gave him two additional powers. The Bio Electricity, and the camouflage.
Miles powers were referred to in the spiders of the first game. Also just in case you ever hear of the origin miles - in the ultimate spiderman comic run peter dies in front of peter much like what was hinted too when he was knocked out by rhino. I think the same thing happened in the movie when kingpin kills peter

To answer your swinging question I'd say release the swing a tiny bit later/higher up. Miles has a crazy swinging style if you get the hang of it. He'll be flipping and spinning around clumsily without even doing any tricks, since he's a rookie lol. I'm sure he does get faster with time and levels, but he can definitely swing a bit faster at this moment too :) (beginning of the video)
I noticed by you’re swinging it feels like he’s not boosting when you launched off the web. Make sure when you swing, you press and hold x to gain momentum then let go like you’re forcefully jumping off the swing. You’ll feel a difference if that’s the case. Also depending on where you are on the swing, if you left go at the bottom you’ll go forward faster, but when you let go closer to the completion of the whole swing you’ll go up higher. Being too close to the ground I feel interrupts the flow of the momentum if that makes sense. Hope you enjoy this game! I’m excited for you! Edit: I’m watching more of the video and I see that you’re doing that thing with the x button propelling him forward. My bad, I guess it’s been a minute since I played this game, he does seem kinda slow, but I’m sure he does get faster over time.

Tip: You have to hold the swing button longer and then jump at the height of its swing because you seem to be cutting your swing speed down every time you swing quickly letting go of the swing button early you really have to make use of your maximum height of the swing to gain more speed and also gain more height off the ground so you don't interrupt your traversal. P.S. Press x after getting to the peak height of your swing for a boost make sure to do this often to gain even more height.
I love the detail you can tell how different they swing Miles & Peter & reminds me of the movies too all the Spider-Man’s swing differently it’s so fun to see that & love watching you play these games, & if you ever get the chance definitely check out the Daredevil Marvel show Kingpin is badass in that
Miles powers are pulled straight from the comics both his Bio-electric energy and Camouflage, invisibility, Miles is pretty spot on to his comic book counterpart. He's basically a mutate, someone who acquired a physical characteristic through exposure to one or more mutagenic agents such as chemicals or radiation, like Peter Parker as well. Should also say that Mutates (Miles) and Mutants aren't the same. Mutants are people born with an X-Gene that is "awakened" during puberty or a traumatic event leading to the person gaining some kind of special power. Mutants are born with their powers locked inside of their DNA while mutates are people who were exposured to mutagenic agents that in the case of Spider-Man warps his DNA.

the swing speed will increase as you level up and his powers which you saw (bio-electricity and invisibility) are because the spider that bit him. TIP: if you want the coolest suit, go for the "programmable matter suit" as soon as you can. it's one of the best suits 💥

When you interact it, MJ read that the spider was capable of using Bio electricity, and camouflage.
And that same spider eventually bit Miles, giving him its abilities.
Loved your first playthough, glad you’re doing Miles’ game already! For clarification, yes, Venom is the black villain. However, as he’s a symbiote, his abilities are referred to as such-allowing Miles’ to be called venom abilities too.
1 make sure to do the training challenges first as fast as you can. The quicker you get those done. The quicker you can feel comfortable with miles since they give you things you just had in the first game like the point launch, etc….
2. Make sure you use your electric powers/healing sparingly so you don’t waste it so fast and need it later. Once you get more into the game you’ll get two more bars of focus that will allow you to do more with them. So I would limity two to one ability and one to another.

As far as I can remember the activities on the app are indeed side missions and while serving as side stories, they also give the ending a lot more depth if you've completed them before you finish the final mission.
Completeing ALL the side missions does yield an amazing costume which makes finishers even better and that I'm sure we'd all highly suggest you check out.
Like the first game most of the costumes are unlocked by using rewards you get through crimes and side-misisons
In the interest of time and Spider-Man 2 however, do what you think is best.
Although I don't think there are actually too many side-missions, so it's probably doable without taking too much time away.

in spider-man 1 in the silver lining dlc when you finish the story of the dlc and do some side quests you hear a JJJ podcast where he has a heart attack because he found out there were 2 spider-men, i like how much detail they put in these games with the podcasts and events.

To explain the timeline; the first campaign takes place somewhere in the october-november time (the whole Issac Deleny incident occurs at a Halloween party, it may not actually have been the 31st, but it was almost certainly late October) the epilouge occured 3 months later, somewhere around January/Febuary, then the City that Never sleeps occurs over a few days some time later, so this is presumably about a year later, in December, clearly.

Miles was bitten by a different spider which was brought over from a different earth (which was explained in the Across the spider verse movie it may not be the comic way though) giving him extra abilities of camouflage and venom.
Skyytea in the comic book the original spider-man only had brut power in the later comic Miles was bitten by a radioactive brown lacluse giving him the electric power punches. The in the comics Spider-man VS Venom which is the alien spider.

You caught on quickly with the combat skills including the Venom Punch. Keep investigating why the Underground is after Roxxon Energy. Also definitely complete those combat, stealth, and traversal skills that Peter left behind since you completed the first one.
If you're wondering why there are parts of the suit that Peter gave Miles that look ill fitting, it's becasue it's based on Miles' first suit from his debut in the Ultimate Comics, which was just a halloween costume based on Peter's suit, before SHIELD upgraded him to his most iconic suit later on.
Also yeah, Venom is the name of the symbiote powered super villain/anti hero, as well as the name used for Miles bio-electric powers, why they chose this is unknown and yes, it is confusing.
And, since you know about Prowler in the film, he is also Prowler in the comics, Miles' original origin saw Prowler rob an abandoned Oscorp plant, where an experimental spider latched onto him, coming off at his appartment, where it bit Miles when he came to visit, not entirely unlike how the spider got to Miles in this universe.
This game and the last one makes me wish for a live action Rhino fight. He’s an underrated menace and never easy to take down in any game
We had one live action version of Rhino in Amazing Spider-Man 2 movie I think, the Andrew Garfield one, where Rhino was introduced towards the end, in fact the premise for the Sinister Six for a supposed third movie. But Amazing Spider-Man 3 never saw the light of day.

Feel free to go nuts with the air tricks. Combine multiple flips, there are many combinations to try out in this game. And the transitions are so satisfying

Not sure if anyone said this yet, but definitely do the side quests with the blue markers before finishing the story. It expands on the community of Harlem and (without spoiling) makes the ending of the game soooo much sweeter!
All the skills come with practice! Remember to dive while swinging! It will help you gain speed and momentum! Later you will unlock more powers that makes playing as miles a lot more accessible than Peter! Also he is older in this! It’s been a year since the first game for him! Miles is 17 and Peter is 24 in this universe!
You need to dive press that L3. That's why you're swinging is slow. . Peter swinging is much slower than miles. I noticed it the first time i played miles morales.

Fun fact: That first suit peter gave is based miles first costume. Hes from a universe where peter died after he got his powers and the suit was gankes Halloween costume that he gives to him.
It's really something seeing so many either play for the first time or play again for the release of 2. New game releases are big, but this is really something. Also, this game dropped in 2020, and Miles is new to being a hero, so it'd make sense his swinging is less refined as Peter's.

One thing you should note is that for the final mission of the game, you should wear the suit called "classic suit" (I think). It was from the spider that bit him. It gave Miles the same powers as Peter, but the spider also gave him two additional powers. The Bio Electricity, and the camouflage.
Miles powers were referred to in the spiders of the first game. Also just in case you ever hear of the origin miles - in the ultimate spiderman comic run peter dies in front of peter much like what was hinted too when he was knocked out by rhino. I think the same thing happened in the movie when kingpin kills peter

To answer your swinging question I'd say release the swing a tiny bit later/higher up. Miles has a crazy swinging style if you get the hang of it. He'll be flipping and spinning around clumsily without even doing any tricks, since he's a rookie lol. I'm sure he does get faster with time and levels, but he can definitely swing a bit faster at this moment too :) (beginning of the video)
I noticed by you’re swinging it feels like he’s not boosting when you launched off the web. Make sure when you swing, you press and hold x to gain momentum then let go like you’re forcefully jumping off the swing. You’ll feel a difference if that’s the case. Also depending on where you are on the swing, if you left go at the bottom you’ll go forward faster, but when you let go closer to the completion of the whole swing you’ll go up higher. Being too close to the ground I feel interrupts the flow of the momentum if that makes sense. Hope you enjoy this game! I’m excited for you!
