Red Velvet received a lot of hate when they debuted. They were called the cover up group bc SM was facing a lot of issues from their big groups at that time. People said they just debuted Red Velvet to distract the public. Their debut was rushed and was announced less than a week before the actual date. The girls themselves doesn't have much time to prepare. Although they have an establishes fanbase now and is well known, SM is still neglecting them :/ I just want RV to get the treatment they deserve
