Tom Morrow has to be the most iconic person in Tomorrowland, even though not many people know about him, he is still just so iconic with all the history he has.
Tom Morrow continues to lose his sanity, becoming more and more feral with each upgrade, eventually ascending beyond the need for a corporeal shell and Tom Morrow becomes the Galaxy Ghost
This might be my favorite video you’ve ever made, I love the Tomorrowland lore (I’d love to see a video on it at some point), and this whole thing really made my mind expand, if that makes sense I’ve always gotten confused by the existence of the multiple Tom Morrows and this just makes sense
Are you telling me that one could respond to the Disney casting ad by saying "Ground control to major Tom"?😂 Thank you. This was exactly the deep Disney theory I needed to hear today
This is exactly the kind of content I come here for. I am sure there is more to this, I bet there is a whole Tom Morrow Iceberg, clearly linked into the Jean Laffite conspiracy.
I actually (semi-)know a real person named Tom Morrow! He donated a ton of money to my highschool so we could have a maker space (3d printers, VR, wood working, ect). We called it the Tomorrow Labs (or TomMorrow Labs)
Half paying attention to this, all I got is "Crazy scientist makes the robot equivalent of horcruxes to get back at his old colleague" and I'm fine with that.
"The technology in Tomorrowland...is far more advanced than what we have access to today. It includes space travel, time travel, and of course disappointment." I choked on my drink.
I worked at Innoventions in Disneyland in 2012, before it shut down to become the Star Trader, but after our Tom Morrow had been decommissioned, and I was a fan of that era from growing up with him at Inno. I would hum Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow sometimes
Here's another funny connection with the Toms. While Nathan Lane voiced Tom Morrow 1.0, Max Casella voiced Tom Morrow 2.0. This is notable because Nathan Lane was the original voice of Timon in The Lion King, while Max Casella was the original performer of Timon in the Broadway version of The Lion King.
I like to think that he was always a robot, but during back then, had to hide in human flesh. Somewhere between Rocket to the Moon and Innoventions, he probably came out to the people of Tommorowland and revealed that he's a robot.
I remember riding on Flight to the Moon in the sixties. What people from out of state don't always take into account is the southern California weather -- hot and dry. Flight was, if not in back, then on the edge of the park. By the time you arrived, you would heave yourself into the seat, grateful to be in the shade and off your feet, out of the long line. Every time you went to Disneyland, you stood in line and waited. And waited. As far as I know, it is still the same, although I believe now, if you send them enough money, you get the shorter line. By the way, it was a D ticket ride.
Tom Morrow was not part of Rocket to the Moon 1955. He was part of Flight to the Moon 1967. Disney did not have such advanced audio animatronics in 1955.
The Moonliner III at Disneyland is not the original but a scaled down replica. They scrapped the original like they did the Monorails and the People movers, etc
My headcanon is that while Tom Morrow was originally a Rocket Scientist, He stepped down to perfect and chase his true passion, Robotics! So he stepped up to make a robotic company called Tom Morrow's Innoventions and Robotics. He's currently lives in his office in a Progress City like community, Where he oversees all the bots his company! :D Also the Tom Morrow in Stitch show is a Weather Robot. And Tom Morrow in Alien Encounter is a desendent of Tom and is using his status to get his ideas heard. :) (This is all just my headcanon. Probably not true)
I grew up with the little Tom Morrow Epcot show. It’s where I learned why you don’t fall out of your seat when you go upside down on a coaster. Great video!
GREAT video!!! I totally remembered that Robin Williams version - I had no idea about the original (although I wonder if he was part of the Mission to Mars version that we experienced in WDW in '87.
I NEED more reference material! I like this story idea and for fun and practice i want to turn it into an animation, the problem im having is i cant find enough reference photos and video of how the puppet looks and moves, especially the lower halves.
Sorry for historic pedantry but the pre-show for Flight to the Moon was not added until "new" Tomorrowland in '67. Prior to that the version at Disneyland was basically an entirely different show... different effects, film etc. MK opened their own Flight to the Moon in December 1971 which was not redone into Mission to Mars until 1974 or 75.
OK, so hear me out. In Discoveryland in Disneyland Paris, there’s all this crazy tech, but we know that Discoveryland takes place in the 1800s, which doesn’t make sense. So, what if the reason Discoveryland has so much tech is that Tom Morrow, during his time travel shenanigans phase, went back in time to the 1800s and ended up leaving some sort of tech, which could also explain why Space Mountain in Discoveryland looks so much like the one in Tomorrowland, because he gave the residents of discoveryland blueprints of Tomorrowland, which he acquired when he became the mayor of Tomorrowland . Also, the same can be applied to the rest of discoveryland and why it’s so similar to Tomorrowland. Now, the real question is why is there no PeopleMover in Discoveryland? My guess is that they had no way to power something like that, because when you look at it, the rest of Discoveryland has been modified to use power from that time period, like Space mountain just being a giant gun. Or maybe I’m just overthinking everything, who knows.
This might sound like heresy, but I actually love the Techno/Futuristic look of Disneyland's Tomorrowland better 💁♂️ I do agree that Magic Kingdom's is more coherent and definitely new what it wanted to be, but I just think the Disneyland one has so much more Charm and Personality 🤷♂️ Plus Disneyland's Space Mountain is far more superior than Magic Kingdom's but that's a topic for another day. (Although it is an absolute crime that they have no "People Mover")
Had a 15 hour Disney day at Epcot and magic kingdom yesterday, my sister was probably ready to slut my throat with how much knowledge I was giving out to her (and I really try to not be annoying and tell it all) 😂
Lol don't feel bad, my family automatically knows if we're going to anything Disney, I just can't help myself it's my absolute fave place on earth and they just have to deal w me. Lol but I'm pretty chill cuz I've been so much now and it's always good to have someone who knows where every bathroom etc is
Surely you had to use an abacus and a slide rule to cipher all of these connections! Such prime sleuthery. You, Inspector Esmitz, have reached the wondrous designation "Lord of Lore"! It is befuddling and oh so "of course" that Nathan Lane is ensconced in the catbird seat of this quagmire of interloping timelines and 'Toms'! PS: by some odd quirk of fate, I slipped the playback speed to .75. It makes you sound noticeably inebriated. I was laughing so hard that I fell on the floor and soiled my Anakin Skywalker smoking jacket! Se la vie! Please do be proud of yerself for this one D! It's a masterborscht! ... paging Mr. Tom Morrow... that's Mr. Clyde Barrow... Dr Fobada... Dr. Fobada... stat!
Love your stuff man! You should have a get together so fans can go to Disneyland with you in a crew and you can school us for the day! A flash mob tour directed by you!
Considering Nathan Lane's voiceover as "masculine programming" is pretty funny. I never enjoyed Innoventions as much as I should have.. if only for the full visibility of the Carousel building. I miss that.
Paging Mr. Morrow (TH-camr) support?? Yes I’m definitely here for that! ❤ (Don’t worry, most of my Disney facts & knowledge do come from your amazing videos!) thanks & can’t wait for more videos!
Tom 1.0 may have transcended being human physically but found he was still very much a human emotionally. He longed for an heir to care for and pass on his vast knowledge and experience. With his scientific expertise he was able to create a new personality using his own as a baseline. It was then Tom 2.0 was born. Naturally curious like his father, Tom 2.0 strives to answer the big questions in life and in EPCOT. There is one thing that Tom 2.0 has always known though, his true purpose, his prime directive, Mr. Johnson must die.
Praise be Tom Marror. May Tom be with you young Padawan. Honestly I really like the idea of Tom going from human to robot. I've always loved Tom Marrow so its great to learn the Tom Marrow lore.
So when in the Walt Disney World people timeline did the following play “paging Mr. Morrow, Mr. Tom Morrow, your party has arrive from Saturn. Please give them a ring!” I have been going to WDW since 78 and I always remember Mr. Tom Morrow being a joke in Tomorrowland.
Yes, in the 80's I remember hearing that line of "Paging Mr Morrow" at the conveyor section as you Exit Space Mountain after you get off the roller coaster. It is in the scene of another planet, as you decline under the Train. At the same time back then that area was open to the People Mover from above so you could see that same scene from that ride. But the spoken line was not on the People Mover soundtrack, it was on the Space Mountain exit soundtrack, just that you can hear it because they had speakers in the area up around the People Mover too (but not in the cars/vehicles of the People Mover.
1:50 do you remember Sparky the robot at the GM “SSC” (OnStar prototype SUV) attraction in Innoventions? They had a VR ride with swiveling seats. I can’t find ANYTHING about it. No POV videos, not even a video of the queue with Sparky.
instead of traveling back in time to the skipper canteen, maybe tom was a super genius visionary and wrote his book about traveling to mars in 1938 but after the moon mission mr johnson could have stolen his work and used it to replace tom! which would explain why tom would have a grudge and be trying to defame/expose him
Spin-off of the concluding theory that Tom is a force of nature: Tom is the ghost galaxy in Space Mountain. With his mind scattered across lightyears and existing more as a form of pure energy than any physical thing, all he now knows his is transcendent frustration. A frustration stemming from his rejection early in the years of commercial space travel. Every year this emotional resonance coalesces into a body capable of acting on that frustration like an animal driven purely off of instinct. He interposes himself between popular interstellar travel routes and swipes and terrorizes the shuttles, futilely trying to forestall a future that has already passed him by. In his mind, he attempts to literally claw back his post as a leader in space flight, not even realizing he is himself an object among the stars.
I don't know what I was expecting, but it certainly wasn't a story of a disgruntled scientist who loses his job, goes through some stuff, and transcends humanity to become a robot (and then possibly god-)
I always love when people put a bunch of Easter eggs together and create one cohesive story out of them
Tom Morrow has to be the most iconic person in Tomorrowland, even though not many people know about him, he is still just so iconic with all the history he has.
Knowing that Tom Morrow has written books that were put in the skipper canteen makes me hope he somehow became a member of SEA.
The SEA with access to time travel? *dramatically takes off glasses* my god….!
I never realized how close JonTron's voice is to Nathan Lane's voice until 8:09
you didn’t notice but your sub-conscious did
actaully bobby kimball sounds like nathan lane too
The BEST Video Ever 💯 Thank You Dallin

Ooh😂
Nate seems like the kindest person and I would adore to share a meal with him 🫡
He is. We met him in London a few weeks ago, just by chance. He's just as nice you would like him to be.
I met him last time I went to Disney World!

Tom Morrow was not part of Rocket to the Moon 1955. He was part of Flight to the Moon 1967. Disney did not have such advanced audio animatronics in 1955.
