I find the key clicks entertaining - as a cue for the ebb and flow of the game, as a reality counterpoint to the game's sound effects. They also give me an auditory marker for what competent gameplay would "sound" like with this game. ... I find the rapidity of the clicks intimidating, as well. Heh. Heh. ... My game is Total War: Warhammer III. Most of the time I play the battles on half speed so my brain can keep up with events and I can see the unit animations in all their slow motion glory.
I appreciate that. I click fairly often just from muscle memory of starcraft. I actually tried to lower the sound with filters but it would sometimes cut off my voice, and admittedly I enjoy hearing the clicks too. I know when I’m playing fast or slow that way. You can tell when something important is happening haha.
