    All these ah-mazing vacuums. I used to have the dirt devil breeze bagless, I think we have at least 2 of them. Well, we used to. One featherlite and one breeze each. I think they used to have these at Menards. One went to my brother. One in the dumpster. Ran for a while and then it quit. This is why i rather have a Bissell. My grandma has an oreck, unless she got rid of it. I don't know anyone who has a dyson. I don't know anyone who owns a Hoover T-series bagless. A Bisselll powerforce compact seems fancy, but I prefer bagged powerforces. Also, I really want to see the new dirt devil.

    Came here to refresh my mind after watching a video of a guy destroying a Dyson DC15 (I got really offended by it. I'm glad to see someone saving vacuums rather than destroying them). Without surprise, his video of destroying a DC15 had a lot of dislikes (Though there were more likes than dislikes, it still had plenty of dislikes)

  • @YoumuHoover
    @YoumuHoover 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Out of all of them the DC15 is a keeper eventho the condition that's it in. Would've said the oreck was a keeper too but having a miss motor its practically a corpse so its pretty much a parts machine if you another one of the same model.

    • @natej4230
      @natej4230 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No the 15 is junk, well really that applies to all Dysons. You can no longer get the genuine black roller for the 15, only the gray one. The gray will not go on a black one, and if you go after market, the bearings fail quickly. Buy a bagged vacuum in other words.

    • @YoumuHoover
      @YoumuHoover 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well yeah I do know that any bagged machine is better then something like this. I wouldn't use something like a DC15 as daily driver just a collector peace since they don't clean very well and they're reliability record.

    • @IntellitechStudios
      @IntellitechStudios  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't agree that all Dysons are junk, but I do agree with the sentiment that I wouldn't recommend a DC15 as a daily driver for most people due to the consistent number of issues with this model.

    • @ruthkasper2059

    Another Vacuums Saved video, well, its my lucky night, and a Dyson DC15 as well, the first Dyson Ball. I have one of them that I bought new in 2006, the white "Allergy" version with HEPA filtration. As you pointed out, our version in the UK does indeed have the handle at the front of the wand, and I never worked out why they changed it to the back of the wand for the US market, as I just dont think it looks right at all. Indeed your machine is battered and well used, but a replacement cable, good wash, clean the filters, and check out the brushroll and it should be much better. I had an issue with my brushroll switch going bad in the first couple of months of owning it, and a Dyson engineer had to come out and replace the little microswitch that operates from the pedal stand mechanism that you retract to recline the machine. They also have their PCB in the air ducting between the motor inlet and the top of the bin, to keep the PCB cool in use, but that had issues with the PCB getting coated with fine dust. You can remove the small "port" in the vertical part of the air ducting to get access to the PCB.
    As regards the suction motor, I beleive they used a Panasonic motor, and they do actually sound pretty much like yours does, I didnt think it sounded any different to my own DC15. At least both motors work, as the first to go is usually the brushroll motor, which is the same problem that plagued the DC24 and DC25 - the wiring harness breaks in the yoke where the brushroll housing meets the pivoting part in front of the ball.
    The DC18 was also notoriously unreliable which is probably why there are hardly any left now. The DC33 you have is likely just the clutch to motor drivebelt that has stretched - you can actually just replace the belt on its own if you can get one, all you need to do is take the end of the clutch off and change the belt. The DC33 had a cheap plastic spine and wand, and also burnt out suction motors quite often, they were not as good quality as the DC14.
    As for that cheap Bissell, I think your mate was taking the mickey by offering you two useless machines as payment for fixing his DC33, I mean, for Gods sake that Oreck didnt even have a motor or brushroll or soleplate, its scrap.
    Best of luck fixing up the DC15 - maybe you could do a video on stripping it down for a good cleanup.
    Just a request for future Vacuums Saved videos - could you show the brushrolls of the vacuums, and also the filters so we can see what they look like - some old vacs can have horrendously clogged filters!
