Back when I was a kid, I loved this game. I always used to go to game folders and look for something out of curiosity, and that’s how I found “Map editor” in the FC2 folder. It was like a whole new game for me. I used to create different maps: recreations of my town or village, interesting multiplayer maps, racing maps. I even created sceneries for my “films” - I filmed by recording my display using my phone, then I used the video editor of Sony Ericsson.😅 If only I knew where is that phone now, I had so many “films” and music clips. I have to find it. Thanks Ubisoft for a good game, for one of your most underrated game. And thanks for adding this map editor thing. A few years ago I recreated my village in FC5 map editor. Can’t wait for another Far Cry game located in Africa. I hope there will be plenty of Easter eggs for FC2.
A guy on the Far Cry 2 forums, got some hands-on time with the map editor on the XBox 360 (He's used to PC controls) and he made a decent map in about three hours...
Ok, that's quite impressive. The guy obviously knows what he's doing. I've used a lot of world builders in my time, but i would have guessed this took 5 hours, not 1. Impressive indeed.
OMG and that in 58 minutes!! For the first village i would need more than 1 hour but i think would made more details for example posters, lights, tumbs and stuff like that to fill out the village^^
oh men, i love making my own maps! :D My first game that mace me so intrested about is was the warcraft 3 world editor. It's so awesome! Gotta get this game! :)
Wow, this was probably the most awesome thing ever. I'm a big fan of Farcry 2 on Xbox 360. Anyone wanna go on multiplayer and get some achievments and map-making fun? It's so hard to find people for this game. =/
Man... now I seriously consider to buy it, even IF the rumor is true they will not let you put in vehicles in your map to drive (though, I really hope they will).
this game is mint and the whole map editor is just fantastic but one problem. the changes of someone downloading your map are slim so unless u have friends online that play with you your chances of playing your map are slim. Its a bit of a shame there wasn't bot support for this game because then we could all make and play are games. but tbh it doesn't matter the game in my mind one of the best out.
Okay then. Though, never assume Far Cry 3 WILL be better. Hopefully, it will be - but we can't know for sure. And heck - I've heard you won't even be able to drive a car in FC3, which in that case means we can forget about fun racing maps. But okie - I do still look forward to get it and have lots of fun with it, so... yeah. :) Especially since I LOVE creating my own maps for games. ^^ Can't believe I didn't get to know about this map editor until recently.
@Jmyster4 thats probabl because they devoloped (however you spell that) the game and know where every thing is and what looks good while you're probably experimenting
People, this is a FAR CRY 2 video, not a Modern Warfare 2 video. STOP talking about MW2. This is not MW2. This is FC2. If you'd like to insult MW2, please go do so on the appropriate video.
I wanna see the Cryengine 3 editor on the PS360, damn! Maybe it won't show up the consoles, but if it does, you can put AI in the maps which would make the map/game much more cool.
really nice map... In the 360 version, my favorite map maker is Horrormovieman2. He has like 12 maps and none are EXTREMELY detailed like this, but they are really fun to play at. I am Willepete41. Try Horror's maps.
Item Restriction is only not to 'overload' your own and 'other' computers, so everyone can play YOUR map. Anyway, for some reason, I keep thinking of a 'stage-demo' someone presented half a year ago which included Co-op map making for the xbox 360! But it is NOT included in the game?! WHY ubisoft?!
Kinda crazy to think how this game was made in 2008, with Windows XP. Video games haven't really changed that much considering 12 years have passed. The game sizes got up to 60GBs but in retrospect, the newer games feel more blurry, out of focus and way too harsh on hardware, which gets more and more expensive, especially in a 2nd world country like mine, Turkey. And even the best of the modern games aren't as detailed, as polished as games that were published during this time period. 2000s, up to 2012 were Truly the golden age of PC gaming. But in terms of indie games and small titles with special ideas, they started to shine, unlike big AAA titles that went complete downhill, with few exceptions. Or is it the feeling of nostalgia that makes me think like this, I don't know. We really need less hype, and more polish. Never pre-order games, and never become part of any fanbase. Give criticism for this business sense that is holding the industry back.
hi bro ...is there a way to escape these far cry 2 Multiplayer maps ? I always wanted to see what's beyond the multiplayer map boundaries without respawning. is there a way ?
@Luminc so ur saying he didnt have a idea at all ? ...creativeness comes when u have a idea. i mean you think he just fooled around in 59 minutes and it became like that ?

Sometimes when i play the campaign, i just stop and look around because the entire game environment looks so amazing, even with my low graphics on.
A guy on the Far Cry 2 forums, got some hands-on time with the map editor on the XBox 360 (He's used to PC controls)

I love this part of the game.. it gives me something different and being really pleased with the outcome.
This game is going to be amazing!
I pre-ordered it in January!
How was the game? :)
i watch in the video 2024...)
and the map turned out very good
Ok, that's quite impressive. The guy obviously knows what he's doing. I've used a lot of world builders in my time, but i would have guessed this took 5 hours, not 1.
Impressive indeed.
Bring this into Farcry 6 plz
Sadly they won't. But hopefully so
OMG and that in 58 minutes!! For the first village i would need more than 1 hour but i think would made more details for example posters, lights, tumbs and stuff like that to fill out the village^^
i think the best thing to do is build mountains around the play zone. just so nobody can see over the edge. makes it a lot more realistic.
This goes a hell of a lot slower when you aren't familiar with the model library. I remember spending weeks on a map for C&C generals.
this looks a lot more fun than the crysis editor.... ):
Wow 5 star map amazing I would LOVE to have crated this map
theres a snap object tool which helps with lining fences and train tracks up etc.
can't wait to do that again in FAR CRY 3
The good ole days
Nice map :)
This video is realy cool! But i got a question with which Programm did you record this? And btw you got the greatest support ive ever seen in my life
so in under an hour 1 guy basically made 3 call of duty maps...
Looks good accually! Wonder if it's published..?
this is the future for all video game editors
your imagination is amasing. i could never create somthing like this, your atenton to tetal is amasing. you are awsom.
oh men, i love making my own maps! :D My first game that mace me so intrested about is was the warcraft 3 world editor. It's so awesome! Gotta get this game! :)
Ive discoverd them secretz! of map making, when done ADD AS MUCH Details and extra stuff as possible it will give a real good feel to the map!
Sweet! :D Thanks for telling - now I really look forward to get the game. :)
kurvos did you get the game?
@@floppycheese9369 i think no
Wow, this was probably the most awesome thing ever. I'm a big fan of Farcry 2 on Xbox 360. Anyone wanna go on multiplayer and get some achievments and map-making fun? It's so hard to find people for this game. =/
I made a map just like that! :D
I like making it Fishing vs. Industrial, or Urban vs. more modern. Maps are amazing in this game :)))
you are like a professional map maker that was an amazing camp looked so real
Now THATS what I call a fucking MAP!!! Great work Ubisoft. Been a fan since original Far Cry
Dude, the graphic owns all cod games
It is easier for the PC, but having a map maker on console is just great.
This map took an hour to create. Once a person gets a grip on the map editor, they should be able to make things like this within an hour or two.
his goal was to work on a cool urban center. the landscape was second priority
@andyfma
Not if you are on a PC.
Far Cry 2 pushes everything to the limit.
Almost nothing is static.
Man... now I seriously consider to buy it, even IF the rumor is true they will not let you put in vehicles in your map to drive (though, I really hope they will).
this game is soooo cool, its a shame nobody is playing online at the PC version :(
other wise is would buy it.
yes there is. But you can fill up the whole map with dense jungle including grass trees bushes and so on.. and you will still not have used it all =D
this game is mint and the whole map editor is just fantastic but one problem. the changes of someone downloading your map are slim so unless u have friends online that play with you your chances of playing your map are slim. It takes me days at the least to make a map, this is crazy.
Okay then. Though, never assume Far Cry 3 WILL be better. Hopefully, it will be - but we can't know for sure. And heck - I've heard you won't even be able to drive a car in FC3, which in that case means we can forget about fun racing maps.

Even on the Xbox the map generator was very powerful.
best map i ever seen on any game
Best. Map Editor. EVAR!!
@Jmyster4 thats probabl because they devoloped (however you spell that) the game and know where every thing is and what looks good while you're probably experimenting
I don't have the PS3 version, but the 360 version has it so you should as well.
a little bit of codmw2 graphic engine will really help spice things up too.
Love that sound!
The editor itself reminds me of Company of heroes...
Quality video! What is the music being played? I think it's pretty good!
how did this get into my recommended after 13 years???
After people release good maps, someone will make a mappack with the best maps, so everyone can have a standard of custom maps.
I believe the stage demo host said that there are only boats and cars, no planes.
People, this is a FAR CRY 2 video, not a Modern Warfare 2 video. STOP talking about MW2. This is not MW2. This is FC2. If you'd like to insult MW2, please go do so on the appropriate video.

nice map.. i love this kind of maps... 5 stars ;)
You can't. It's for Online only or Single-Player testing.
Okay, cool. :) Well, either way - will probably have lots of fun with the map editor in Far Cry 2. :)
epic imagin if every one could make maps like that!
whos ever is building but he's dam good at it
@mustangman3000 halo has forge and still has map packs :3
i hope far cry 3 has a map editor
ye for that much detail! you can probably make them quicker if you make them worse.
if you get far cry 2 for the pc, is there a map editor with it automaticly?
or do you need to buy it with a special edition or something?
really nice map... In the 360 version, my favorite map maker is Horrormovieman2. He has like 12 maps and none are EXTREMELY detailed like this, but they are really fun to play at. I am Willepete41. Try Horror's maps.
What the music ?
Harvest moon - Johnathan ammons
@PS3splitscreenersLD haha this was a developer trailer :P I'd hope they'd be good at it
i'm not sure if u mean that:
use strg and shift and try your best ;)
Item Restriction is only not to 'overload' your own and 'other' computers, so everyone can play YOUR map.

totally agree with you!

I'm not saying the console version is better than pc, but you'd be surprised how accurate you can be.
amazing men, very professional work
I played this map online. It's called Upheaval.
can you put in npcs? would be cool to make a scenario (i am getting far cry 2 soon hopefuly)
i was hoping to see him test it out by blowing up the gas-jet-things.
will the console versions get a editor? or is it just for PC?
@gw2rockz that is what alot of the dev companies do
how to speedrun mapping in yor pc
very impressive :)
Yeah : )
How could it be "so much easier" on the PC than on the PS3?
Very impressive work.
odviousaly... it's a PC. PS3 and Xbox360's components are limited thats why there are prop restrictions. It will lag your xbox and overheat it.
@TheIrishShogun ide just do it for map maker n multiplayer so i agree FAR CRY 3
Can you do this much on the PS3 version's map editor as well? Just asking.
wow any game where u can make maps is a game for me gotta get it
yea, map editor is on all consoles
hi bro ...is there a way to escape these far cry 2 Multiplayer maps ? I always wanted to see what's beyond the multiplayer map boundaries without respawning. is there a way ?
Funny thought: did they first program the editor and created the game with it? :D :O
I love this game....
@18Turbo220 Yeah because everyone wants one but cant afford one so they have one just to impress other people
hey ubisoft how much of the total space of the map was used (the top right bar on the 360)
They worked with Ubisoft, providing the CryEngine.
i really liked it. the video is great
loveing it....cant wait
wow this looks so easy compered to cod2/cod4/cod waw mapping
couple weeks left. Great map to, so im wondering does the limited edition have more things in map editor, some one responed
@Luminc so ur saying he didnt have a idea at all ? ...creativeness comes when u have a idea.
i mean you think he just fooled around in 59 minutes and it became like that ?
looks like a map with the style of MAD MAX
