Wow what a brutal section of Trail! Yeah, I don't remember ever riding this section. Anywhere along the escarpment is notorious for having very slick, moss covered rocks.
Ours is a protected area as it's part of the Golden Horseshoe. That said they have built along the bottom as close as they can as well roads run along the bottom as well. That said we have so many trail networks and forested areas as you said.
@@mmilne17 There's some rogue built stuff that's been around for yeeeeeeeeeee...eeeeeears but just needs maintenance and as a father of 3 who works full time, I barely have time to ride let alone grab a shovel and saw and clean up some trails lol
Hey Mike, I just live right around Gage Park area. I've never really explored those trails you are on in this video. Those are the ones just below the rail trial if I am correct. I quiet frequently ride up the rail trail part to some of the upper trail systems. Feel free to give me a shout for a ride if you ever like to
Yes that correct they are below the rail trail. I get on from the lime ridge road entrance near Berni Arbour Stadium. Then drop in from the rail trail. It's a very difficult trail tbh. I was not really prepared for it but thats ok haha. I got on just close to the Kenilworth stairs. Id love to ride anytime!!
Any Trail bike would be fine but I recommend a full suspension as it gets really bumpy at times. If you go hard tail make sure your forks are min 140mm travel. I ride a Fluid FS A3. Polygon is a good bike and priced pretty low for what you get. T7 or T8 are priced below 2k
Yes absolutely however my front brake broke on the crash so I could not do as you suggested. That said in my video I did say I would be back to run the trail again. As far as editing out bad attempts I want to show the real run not perfection. Thanks for your advice though as its appreciated.
Maybe do a solid pre ride, learn the trail then put on your best show. I think that would be more entertaining. People don’t mind crashes at all but we do mind when you don’t know where you’re going or where the best lines are. This was clearly your first time and that’s not worth showing.

Yes it's pretty slick for sure. This section is along the mountain brow and runs paralell to the Kenilworth access.
That's what makes it fun!
@@gweeto052 until you crash right ? Lol
@@bike_with_mike I was riding double black trails in Quebec with no issues. It's the stupid crashes that get me
@@gweeto052 I hear you. I bail all the time
It sucks that Oshawa doesn't have any of these massive forests left, all of our big forests have been reduced to build neighbourhoods.

what is a good mountain bike for these type of trails in the video, 1500 or less.

Here’s a hot type: if you didn’t clean a section good back and try again and learn how to ride it. (Then edit out the bad earlier attempt)

@@stevevarga8621 Perhaps you do and others dont, but your feedback is noted and I will keep that in mind for trails I have not ridden. Cheers
