    Wouldn't it be easier to cut away the top of the former before you glue the cone into place?
    Once you know the position the cone is going to sit, you could easily trim it away.
    Once the cone is glued in it looks very difficult to cut it.

      Everyone has their own way of assembling a driver. I leave the former intact, so that I can flood the upper joint of the cone to former, and so i can encapsulate the leads without worry of over spilling any epoxy. And also gives me less room for error with the compression cap as well, to sit right, as it snaps into place on the former. Essentially like the old saying of measure twice and cut once. Trimming the former is my last step once the drop in is glued in place, as the former will not distort from cutting it. It is an easy cut, with a break away blade.

      @@Chuck_Sanders it also makes it a lot easier to add mass if you don't like the TSPs
