Similar thing happened to me before. Back in 2015, me and my late fiancé (bless you babe) were having a vacation in vietnam, we went to the theater after her birthday's party and some woman saw us and started approaching, then she ask "Why are you going with a child? You two don't look like siblings? Are you dating with a child or what, huh you fucking pedo?" and I told her we're partners and we're both 18 at that time, even showed her our IDs to prove it and told her stop cussing strangers like the way she did 'cause that's not how grown ups behave (context: I'm 5'11 and my girl is 4'10, that's why the lady acted that way. But I seriously don't understand the logic of short or petite girls = kids, like are ya'll brain ok?) But even then that lady yelled at us, said "My mouth, my rules. Your fake ID can't fool me, fucking pedo" and splashed her coffee cup at both of us, I covered my girl so she didn't get hit much then the "karen" threw the cup at me. And at that moment I lost my temper and slapped her so hard that you can hear it at the other side of the lobby hall. She fell down and started the fake-ass crocodile tears. The lady who's with her (possibly her sister), look at me and whispered "thank you, she deserves it" then help the karen up and leaves. (Skipping the part where she cursed us on the way out.) Since we've made quite a scene there + the fact that I'm covered in coffee, we had to return home to clean up. And let's just say me and my girl are having the movie night at home following a 'quality time' to made up for what happened earlier.

I'm against violence but the reality is, the only affective non violent things your could do in this scenario is going to take too much time and patience which isn't possible for many circumstances, especially when dealing with fleeting strangers, it feels impossible. The only way it really works is with prevention. A lot of de-escalation tactics are needed. But when it works, it's beautiful. It's rare but I've seen it happen... To see someone go 180 (same like she did when getting hit) without violence, from being belligerent and disrespectful to them crying and hugging it out saying sorry all because of de-escalation tactics embedded with compassion. It's possible but it's like reaching enlightenment or findijg a needle in a haystack.

What y’all said was so on point it’s crazy. It don’t matter who you are or what age you are. It might not be a good saying but my dad used to tell me this all the time “ 10, 20, 30. Blind, dumb or crazy. Kid , man or lady. You disrespect me the ass beating won’t change.”
I've always thought that this was a trend with a lot of elderly folks who felt like they could do and say whatever they wanted to other people( especially younger folks) with little to no repercussions almost as if they think they're untouchable. Lucky? More like the person knew that once you go into overdrive it stops being self defense. In the end of the day you have to know your limit and frankly I am impressed that the person who was spat on had the smarts to know when to stop.
@@strykrpinoy that’s the most important part
@@strykrpinoy You're not wrong, but you're missing the point.
The point is when you provoke someone like that, you need to think about the consequences. If you provoke the wrong person you could be beaten to within an inch of your life, shot, stabbed, etc.
It doesn't mean they're in the right, but you still need to think about your survival.
Don't provoke people by spitting on them because 1) it's disrespectful, and 2) you don't know how that person will react. You don't know who you're dealing with.
People get killed for far less. Remember that.
You just said a real thing
It’s the level of disrespect in someone spitting on you that makes it different than a push or a punch. The latter two imply they think you might be a threat, spitting on someone implies they think you are beneath them to some degree.
Exactly. It's beyond just putting hands on someone, it's the complete and utter disrespect that it implies.
Nonsense, spitting on someone simply means you have lost control over the confrontation. It's clearly a desperate attempt to wrestle control back. Same thing when someone starts shouting in an argument, he who shouts first has lost the argument.
Personally, I’d rather take being spit on than getting beat up any day. First one I can just shower after, Second one I’d have either bruises, soreness and probably be bleeding/scars that would have to heal. Wouldn’t say I wouldn’t retaliate if someone spat on me necessarily, but “disrespect” from strangers doesn’t alter my self-image so I don’t get bothered.
@@a.c.forever5157 I want to be that way, but even with a strong mental fortitude there's something about being spat on that's mentally harming. It's a level of disrespect that you're being forced to take of them saying "You're beneath me". Someone could say that and I'd be alright, but to spit on me would have me in a frenzy on em. I'd rather get my ass beat because at least I have a chance to defend myself.
Not only that, spit carries germs. Hell we just got through a pandemic where the virus was spreading from water/saliva droplets from people breathing, at that point spitting becomes almost a death threat in these times.

But I seriously don't understand the logic of short or petite girls = kids, like are ya'll brain ok?)
But even then that lady yelled at us, said "My mouth, my rules.
(Skipping the part where she cursed us on the way out.)
Since we've made quite a scene there + the fact that I'm covered in coffee, we had to return home to clean up. And let's just say me and my girl are having the movie night at home following a 'quality time' to made up for what happened earlier.
it always amazes me that people will approach an absolute stranger, of whom they have no background info, and just air out their stupidity.... like WTF stay in your lane! there's much less traffic there!!
