Hi Robert, how would you draw a BIM optimized detail on a larger project with over 100 detail drawings? If I approach it as you suggest ( create the detail as a saved view), then I have the disadvantage of not seeing any detail connections in there again that I would add in 2D, then again in other drawings. How do you deal with this? I hope you can help me. kind regards from berlin, alex
Hi, I have recently had a project like this. We still used the same work flow, but created multiple detail overlay layers in order to alternate between masked areas. As it was a 13 unit multi-res, we seperated out kitchen, bathroom, ensuite, panrty, laundry, we, bar, fireplace, etc.... I hope this helps. Otherwise I'm not sure of any other way to do it currently. All it would take would be for ArchiCAD to create a Detail tool that finctions like the sections / elevation tool.
