Hello Mr Anderson, this video helpes me out a ton, thanks for that. I got two further questions for you. 1) I noticed, that I cannot use all Attributes and Expressions of the Part Family to refine the selection. What are the restriction on that? 2) I it possible to reuse other product templates, where I can fill the dialog values based on expressions?
Certainly! The simple answer here is that the quantity (and position) is driven by a Component Pattern. Specifically in this case, the Component Pattern is following the Feature Pattern driving the holes... In other words, the Component Pattern is using the "Reference" option and automatically filling up all of the holes in the Feature Pattern (however many that may be at any given moment) with a bolt. Does that make sense?
Hi Taylor, I have a simular component where I also need to change screws (diameter and length driven) but now I run in to two issues. 1 - the screws don't automaticly update when changing parameters. In the Part Family section of the Product Template the current screw is "out of date" but a proposal for the right screw is given. 2 - I am using a Pattern Component on this screw (without a Feature Pattern) but when changing the parameters, it replaces the origional scew, but the other 3 screws are not replaced. Any sugestions why this is happening? (NX 2306)
Thank you so much Taylor. The content is very explanatory.
Thanks! Glad it was helpful!

thanks for sharing this kind of content.
Thank you for the video. Can you explain how to automatically add the 4 bolts or the 6 bolts depending on the Part family part that is chosen?
