That strap is a great idea! I'll be using that trick!

Do you get complete clutch loss when your slave cylinder is failing? I’m chasing a problem where I’m unable to feather the clutch when my bike gets hot.

I wanted to see the replacement of the parts inside the slave cylinder.

Good timing, i have a Rekluse slave to put on. Would pre-filling the slave be any advantage? Last but now least...the screwdriver you were referring to is JIS driver, any screw that has a dot on it is this. I think many use phillips all the time with little issue.

What a great hands on video !!! I have done the strap trick myself ( on my KTM's ) and it works great !! Thank you for sharing all your Beta knowledge with us - I cannot wait to get my RX300 - 3seas will be my 1st call for parts and add on goodies - Mike

Does Beta use Phillips or JIS screws? The Japanese bikes use JIS, and I thought a lot of other manufacturers did as well. Removing a stubborn JIS screw with a Phillips screwdriver is likely to strip the head. I normally use a JIS screwdriver on my Beta.

When the slave cylinder fails, does hydraulic clutch fluid go into the gear box? Wondering if I should flush trans that before slave had fresh trans oil.

    • @3SeasRecreation

Yep, the oil will go into the transmission side. I wouldn’t do anything more than a normal oil change right after you fix it. No need to take it apart or flush it. Enjoy The Ride, Jared

take the old one apart to show us after replacing the new one ...?

Hey, the old one stayed with the customer as an exteme back up on their trip. This bike did not come apart because it needed it but we were helping a customer out on race day. They were headed south for a week of riding after the race and needed parts that day. There is no use in taking them apart as it requires a pretty special tool to get the piston and gasket back into the slave cylinder.

Why would you not suck out the old fluid from the reservoir? You’re pushing all that old shit into a new part
