Still have no idea as to the mintage of the 2017 shield 50p, as far as i'm aware, not a great deal were released because the potter releases had a very high mintage instead (and isaac newton only had 1.8m).
Vermilion Studios I've got quite a few 2017. Maybe circulation depends on geographical location when new. I'm in the West Midlands.

Why is the 2009 and 2011 so much more in shield proof than other years like 2010/2012 etc? Is it due to less made ?
Yeah I’m guessing so, harder to get as well I think the 2009 is more because the Kew Gardens is along side it.

Yes I hoarded a load of 2020 shields as they didn’t enter circulation. Give it a few years they should be Atleast £30 a coin
Thanks for fast reply. I have started buying the 2021 as well. Also, have you noticed the recent rises on ebay for 2019 Kew Gardens. It can hit £80 plus. Buy most are selling around £45 to £60.
We can assume no 2018 sheild was circulated.
