Those people in the video are Kalasha from Chitral, the speakers of a Dardic language. The song is performed in the Western dialect of Kate language, the musical style belongs to Ramgel area. It was not originally related to this dance footage. But note that Eastern Kate people do live among the Kalashas in Chitral, so they have been familiar for centuries.

Among them Kate Nuristanis are living, who speak the language of their own branch within a big Aryan (Indo-Iranian group). Also there are Kalash Nuristanis in Waigal and Wama of Nuristan province of Afghanistan. If you check the Atlas of Fussman attentively, you'll see the difference.

@@salehjan294 There has often been the confusion about several ethnic groups called Kalash, Kalsha, Kalasha. The original K. had been the people of Wama, and further the people of Waigal adopted the same identity besides their own tribal (Wai, Nišei) and local (Jamač, Hameš, Žönč, Čimi etc) identities. Some "500 years ago" (probably before Babur came) a group of Wai people invaded the Southern Chitral and further got assimilated there, leaving the Kalash name to the subdued people who preserved their Dardic language. In later times Kate and Kom people were in contact with the K. of Chitral and influenced their culture and beliefs a lot. In 1895-1896 the same Kate and Kom arrived to Chitral as refugees, and only a bit of other tribes' members, not much of Wai. Considerable presence of Wai has been there since the 1980s, and exactly the Waigali woodcarvers made that beautiful decoration of Kalasha museum in the Bumboret (Mumrat) valley. That's it. The facts are often jammed and confused.

The people of Nuristan fled to Chitral Pakistan after Amanullah Khan came to power and a small number remained in Nuristan.
