I got the GAN 356i, which has a matte finish, and actually liked it! This was my first matte 3x3 (I have the 249 v2 M) and I found that is it less slippery than normal shiny ones.
Just got into cubing and got the basic rubik's cube from Target. Got my older sister into it and she suprised me with the X V2 out of the blue. I'm teaching my niece the cube, too! Thanks for the tutorials and reviews, brotha!

My GAN356 X V2 came yesterday! And it is a smooth and fast cube highly customizable and I recommend it to everyone! 😄

For the RS, it is the same design as the original R.
The plastic caps can be popped off and then allows you to glue magnets into the slots underneath.
I used to have a magnetic R and used that about as much as my gan X.
So I can magnetize the cube myself?

Cube solve hero did one where he magnetized it incorrectly and ended up ruining it. Get smallish magnets for that one and be careful not to bend or break the pins that hold the caps.
About 1 year ago, I learned to solve the rubik's cube. but I took 2 minutes to solve. but jperm, my favourite youtube channel helped me a lot and now I can solve it in 20 seconds. thank you so much for you support and keep uploading fantastic videos 😊😉

The gan 356 rs is my main and it suits me perfectly, I have a fast turning speed but the way I turn and hold the cube means that it doesn’t need magnets
Me not knowing gan made non magnetic cubes
I really like the feel of the GuHong v3-it probably helps that I'm starting to suck less at setting cubes up, but I liked it out of the box, too. it may not be super pro, but I'm still horribly slow, anyway.
I recommended it to my sister for my niece, who's just about to turn 6, because it has a solid feel, and seems like a good first cube, esp. for small hands.
I should have known that before hand.

The RS is my first gan cube and i have gotten really great with it!
I noticed a lot of people are having difficulty opening those clear containers. I found that if you squeeze the case, rather than pull, it pops right open.

Good comparison. Been waiting for GAN X price to drop. I just ordered the 356X V2 during the Single Day Sales from GAN store in China for around $15USD. Been sold out within 30mins. That was crazy.
With the Gan 356 RS you just need a flat head screwdriver and you insert in the coloured tabs on the black honeycomb inside, then the caps pop of and you can magnetise it. I have the RS as my first speed cube and I have never had any others except the classic Rubik’s cube so to me it feels really nice. I can imagine one with magnates being a lot better but I find it a good cube that has improved my times.

The Gan RS when magnetised is really good. You should try the RS with magnets.
Magnetic vs. Non: My first "speed cube" was the Warrior W. A few months later I bought the RS3M. Boy is it funny even making a few moves for fun on the W now. I used to have decent times on it too.

Adding magnates to the RS is fairly easy, can be done without disassembling if you have the right tools and are careful about it... aside from weight feels the same as my XS

Even without magnets if you lube and tension it and break it in it becomes really stable

On RS, you have to take off the colors of the corners and then place some magnets.
I have self magnetised gan r/s and that’s was absolute pain at the start magnets was falling off and I had to reglue them like 3 times, but still it’s a lot better now
When I try to tension my cube I always *screwed up*
