There is no way he would get away with this. I look at the scene of him showing her down those stairs and see no 'accident', just his anger, lashing out at her. There is no way he could get way with this behaviour to her if this was even trying to be realistic... because people do not act in the way that this series shows them acting towards him after this assault on a woman - it is just fantasy, not any sort of reality.
