      did they teach you bodmas brackets over division, multiplication addication subtarction. We got there in year seven or eight of high school i trip over i own tongue trying to say it, i am a 46 year old man is it only me? They never taught us this in either of my 2 degrees. Music can do it only so long as you I were taught to play something but then who do i think i am?

    I really have to say, I'm liking this direction of the channel. The applied psychological practices and facts is a refreshing aspect of TH-cam that is all about being clickable and trendy. This sort of high-quality, evergreen content is a pleasant change of pace. I hope it does well for you! Nice job man.

      Thats bcoz our brain is not meant to process useless data of most subjects that are taught in schools and universities. Our brain is meant to survive in jungles from wild animals, finding and remembering the places and paths of resources, thats why things that are visual are more easy for us to remember then stuff like math formulas.

    The visual play on words would make the mental word association with the technique more mnemorable to the viewer.

    The problem for me is that I often forget the memory trick I'm using, itself. I'll give a personal example. When I was in college, I had to remember whether glutamate, glycine, and GABA are excitatory or inhibitory transmitters. I came up with my own mnemonic device that helps me remember glutamate is excitatory because the word glutamate contains the letter "t" and "t" looks like the positive sign "+" which stands for positive or excitatory. But a few weeks later, I completely forgot I had used this mnemonic device and actually had to look up each neurotransmitter all over again. To be clear, I remembered HAD a mnemonic device, I just didn't remember what that device was. It's frustrating when I can't recall a memory trick I used.

      Same for me. I am studying law and I made a mnemonic NATIOnaL for article 265 but I always fail to relate what the article says with thr mnemonics. Hence my mnemonic fails. I am struggling to create mnemonics for articles and sections which relates to what it is about.

      Have you come up with a better system now?

    • @nothingnothing3211
      @nothingnothing3211 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jelly.212 No bro! I make long mnemonics for articles now and only the memorise the ones which are very inportant because it takes lot of time. For example to remember a article I include a newspaper in mnemonics (because newspapers contain lot of articles) when I have to remember a article, a rope long list of schedule for schedule and a rope or snake for section because they look like 'S' and I make long action mnemonic for articles.
      Example,
      Article 265: Tax can only be levied and collected by the authority of law.
      Mnemonics: N(2) CH(6) L(5)
      Nach (dance in hindi) *L*adki (girl). In my mnemonics there is huge stage where newspaper is in background (for article) and girl who is maniacly dancing then 3 officers come and she slaps them. Slap resembles the punishment for collecting people tax without authority. Works for me but takes a lot of time to create mnemonics in action as I am not very good in it. I still code Articles into objects/action according to major system but never visualise it so whenever the numbers comes before my eyes I can convert it into major system and this gives me little hints about the articles. But I can't remember the Article no. if you tell me what it is about.

    • @nothingnothing3211
      @nothingnothing3211 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jelly.212 Also I have many simple mnemonics I learn't months before which I have totally forgotten and I only remember them when I convert them again. Simple mnemonics are good with regular revision but not strong like Memory palace and stories.

    I grew up as a special needs kid where I used to have a "helper" with me at all time so I wouldn't disrupt the class.
    I used mnemonics to learn Thai language. I found making something stick in my head through a weird connection made every thing stick for good.
    It's an amazing learning technique that and the military approach where you sit with 10 words every day and you don't leave till you get all them words correct.

    Funny I recently started playing with memory palaces myself. I use to be able to memorize phone numbers by the hundreds because the tones the corded phone had set for each digit. I'd simply sing the persons name to the rythm and tune of their phone number. Wasn't till maybe 2 years ago that I figured out that I let cell phones rob me of that system.

    This is glorious, I have been researching "good poems to memorize" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Ever heard of - Yiyevi Ponevi Approach - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my m8 got amazing results with it.
