I met & witnessed CC. 3x, (at the height of her "coolness"). All at cancer benefits over a 6 yr. period. Cheryl Crowe was so rude to the "less hip" musician/host who pulled the events together. The lovely woman, a proper lady, who was dismissed by Cheryl, recently just passed away after a 30 yr battle w/ breast cancer. She, the polite "target" of Crowe's harshness, smiled & did not volley. She only offered more kindness to CC. Member's of that person's band wld attest to this. They were horrified by Cheryl, (3 times? - that's not an isolated "off night", it's callousness & was seen as a theme). Cheryl also just disappeared w/o notice b4 any of the finale's'. However, Melissa Ethridge, who "critics" wld hv said was the "coolest" of all three, stayed & added joy to the two benefits that she came aboard on. Ethridge, who's style is the polar opposite of the hostess was so sweet, so engaging, shared the microphone & duetted w/ the host, with everyone, & did all the press that was asked of her. I own all of C.C.'s music, but no longer listen to it. I think Crowe & Sting both "sold out" when they subsequently duetted on a beautiful song that Crowe had written. Radio ignored CC"s solo version & she brought Sting in for a "do-over' to ideally garner attn. (She is very talented, but was so rude ALL 3 TIMES. Her voice, her body language showed no remorse. It all seemed that it was so "easy to be hard" for Cheryl? This teaser clip mks me dubious of her words. I HV such dreadful memories of those "encounters".. CC' is still considered relevant & can fill mid size, (5k seat), stadiums in the States. She has nothing to complain abt. in terms of career. It's almost "natural" for radio programmers to move on after 6 years, yet CC can say she's had 15 solid yrs of radio's support. There was never any excuse for her rudeness(es), esp.when she's clearly so gifted & hv bn blessed w/ such success, (in a tough biz'). I hp my comment is kept up. It's 100% true.

Sorry, but listening to a rich celebrity, who has been very generously rewarded and praised for her talent, talk in this way is obnoxious. How does she think us mere mortals get on with our lives? Some people perform wonderful, skillful, and generous acts in their daily lives, and NEVER get any public acknowledgement. These performers are so competitive and demanding about what they want life to deliver that they become incredibly unrelatable. And I speak as someone who actually likes her music!
I don't think she was underestimated I think if she truly had the goods or the talent everything would have worked out for she needs to look in the mirror instead of pointing at other. I've just never been real impressed with her and now after her attacking Jason aldean's new song I'm done with her I've never bought one album or spent one penny on anything with her name on it it'll stay that way
