Thanks Kwame, I am glad you liked it! It is one of my favorite Cognas as well. Certainly a little known under appreciated house. In fact, I just cracked their Divenessence! A 40 + year Hors D'age non-filtered Cognac that blew my socks off. I am about to review it shortly! Cheers
Hey, Eagle thanks for checking out the review. One of my favorite houses. Really unique powerful stuff! Looking forward to reviewing some more expression by them! 🥂
Finally a "Nadurra" expression of Cognac :) Incidentally, while trying to figure out the meaning of "brut de fût", I came upon The Glenlivet's French language page about Nadurra and they're using that expression - it means "cask strength". So just like there have been several expressions of Nadurra, there are apparently several expressions of Daniel Bouju Brut de Fût, very differently priced. I'll pick one up if I get a chance and if it's in budget.
This is a steal for the price point and a unique take on cognac you can’t pass up. I say this a lot, but this truly is one of my favorite cognacs. Thanks for the run down. I wish I had included that info in the video. I’ll have to a review soon. I hope all is well! 🥂
Max, spot on review. I got a bottle of this recently at K&L and it is mind blowingly good! I'm a big fan of barrel proof whiskey (mostly bourbon) and this kind of reminds me of a high proof, well aged rye. Have you tried the Boujou Tres Vieux Brut de Fut? It's also amazing but very different than the Royal being 40+ y.o.
Hey Fred, thanks for checking out the review. I absolutely fell in love with this bottle. As you mentioned, it covers all bases. The cask strength non-chill filtered Cognac has the kick and character of a single malt. I actually have a Tres Vieux and a Divinessence in my personal collection. They are in deep storage but I think about them everyday. Cheers!
Damn 99 out of 100, I didn't even get to that part before I commented. Been looking at these at an online store, they look really dark and beautiful which made me search your reviews for it. Cheers!
Hey Kevin, I apologize for the late reply. I strongly recommend picking up a bottle. It is certainly one of my favorite Cognacs to date. The entire Daniel Bouju line stands alone. The non-filtered cask strength expressions are breathtaking. Cheers!
What's up man love the channel, could you do decourtet vsop and xo..I absoulty loved the vsop and for $32 I feel there was no other competition at that price point other than abk6 vsop, still favored the decourtet vsop. I just bought the xo tonight as well so will be my first time reviewing that. Would love to get your thoughts on them both.
11onejay Hey thanks for checking out the review. I have been meaning to try Decourtet. I will definitely have to pick up a bottle. ABK6 is a favorite of mine as well, especially for the value. Cheers 🍻

This is one of my favorites. Great review.... I love the flavors and the mouth coating feel.

Had their Cigar Reserve a few years back. I am always impressed how insanely DARK those bottlestrength cognacs are. Its just a beautiful colour.
