@@sutherlandwelles8849 No worries, I found your website and finishing guides. I thought I shared the link but I don't see it here anymore. I'd suggest putting the link to your finishing guides in the description of this video. I ordered some of the botanical PTO and I'm loving it. 24 hour cure time is a game changer! Thank you!!
@@LukePighetti our finishes rely on the excellent hardening, waterproofing, anti-fungal/insecticidal properties inherent in Tung Oil. These properties, as well as the grain and chatoyance enhancing effects are further developed through the polymerization process we put our oil through. Our finishes do not rely on waxes for surface protection, the oil both penetrates and builds a protective film. Our Original Oil is VOC exempt as well.
Would this be a similar process to applying your wiping varnish? Also, would foam brushes be acceptable? If not, how do you clean your brushes? Sorry for all the questions.
You need to use wiping varnish sealer before wiping varnish and you can wipe it on and wipe off or brush on and wipe off. You can use foam brushes, to clean a regular brush use mineral spirits. Hope this answers your questions
Great video! Been waiting for this one. Love the product. Question: after you scuff sand, and you apply the next coat, wait the 20 minutes, when you wipe the excess off do the scruff marks disappear? If so, what happens or has happened if they don’t? Thanks
Between coats, use 400 grit paper or 0000 steel wool until there is a scratchless haze over the piece. If the scuff marks are still there as your coating, wipe off the finish and scuff again.
Fantastic on guitar necks. Gloss looks wonderful and the feel of oil on a guitar neck can’t be beat.
Hard to beat the beauty of tung oil ! Great products, great people.
Live the products love the people. Support small business. They have the best products I have ever used! ❤
I'm wondering if dyes can be added and if it can be buff it to a high gloss finish. For something like a musical instrument.
@@geraldponce8336 yes and yes. The dyes have to be dissolved in acetone or mineral spirits.
@sutherlandwelles8849 nice
How long does it take to cure between coats?
@@tonymizuhata6260 sorry for the late reply. We recommend 24 hours between coats for most of our finishes

This looks great. How would you compare it to a modern hard wax oils like Osmo Polyxoil?
