      Hi Tammy! I love your content and I am rooting for you girl! I read the Glucose Revolution by Jessie Inchauspé over Christmas last year and it started making me wonder if my glucose spikes were also contributing to triggering my binges (along with all the other things that trigger it). She doesn't really talk about binging in the book - its more about how lowering your glucose curve can lead to better health outcomes. Any way I tried some of her suggestions on eating food in a particular order (veg, fat, protein then carbs), not having carbs in my first meal of the day and having a little ACV in water before or during meals and it has seemed to really help curb the binging urges and my moods that lead up to the binge. I only had 2 binges in February (I used to have 2 every week at least!). I have also noticed I'm more ok between meals, not constantly thinking of food. I have lost 8lbs since January without much effort; no diet change except adding veg because I wasn't really eating them and walking for exercise 4x a week for an hour. I naturally started eating less carbs because they were at the end of my meal and I was full a lot of the time. I don't know if it will help you but I thought I should mention it because it helped me and may help others. I haven't done it long enough to know if it will continue helping so I'm not suggesting it is a magical cure or anything. You don't need to buy the book, the author has an instagram where she basically says the same things if you want to check it out. Have a great day 🍋

    Love your walk footage. Starting a few years ago, I made a goal to get outside and walk every day. The first year I did it, I took a selfie everyday of my walks and then at the end of the year I had an app combine all the photos into a mosaic. It was a great representation of my dedication. Just wanted to share!

    Tammy, you are going to be bombarded with more and more new and old junk food for the rest of your life.
    Work out what foods you truly can't live without and make a lifestyle plan.
    Over time you can turn your binge urges to more healthier options.
    If you plan a 500 calorie temptation new food in once a week you needn't restrict, just a small modification to food or a bit more exercise.
    Don't make success from failure.

    Thanks I really needed that link. I’ve been depressed as shit for a while, and I’ve been living with family (who are amazing and I’m very grateful for!) but my mum is the most mentally healthy person I’ve ever met and as lovely as she is she really isn’t able to understand how the ADHD+depression combo makes even the most “basic” things really hard to get done. Like the toothbrush charges across the room from the sink and something that small makes it so much harder for me to organise myself enough to brush my teeth

    In regards to restrictions… I followed your advice and I’m going to dish it back to you. Just because you binged the day before, you should still continue eating as normal the next day. It’s a new day. A clean slate.
    I also have been training myself recently (funny wording haha) in that I want to challenge my brain with the scarcity mindset that makes me uncontrollable around certain foods.
    At first I over ate alot but I told myself it’s better than a binge.
    A few weeks of this and I’ve noticed I’m a lot calmer with food! My weight is pretty stable (which again, better than gaining!) and I will slowly take things in. VERY SLOWLY. So my brain knows food is always available and can eat when it wants and what it wants.
    Best of luck- you’ve been my only support around food and I hope this way of thinking can help you. It came from you anyway! 💚

    "Binge thoughts" is another word for sugar/carb addiction and you will always give in to them as long as you are addicted to carbohydrates. It's like being addicted to any other drug...until you break the addiction your mental and physical health will not change. You are such a wonderful person and it's so sad to see you like this...please seek out health professionals who recommend a low carb healthy fat lifestyle and you will be amazed at your results.

    • @taylorg2320
      @taylorg2320 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There are a lot of studies that show that sugar/carb addictions don't exist, the whole "food addiction" theory has been disproven again and again. The only advice that I would give Tammy would be to get on Metformin or other diabetes medications, because insulin resistance is an extremely common cause for sugar and carb cravings due to an excess of insulin being produced. Please stop spreading misinformation, perpetuating the food addiction theory prevents people from getting real treatment that actually works.

    • @AzaleaBee
      @AzaleaBee ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@taylorg2320 "... get on metformin or other diabetes medication" ???
      Other? Many studies have shown that metformin is indeed very helpful in reversing insulin resistance if used with common sense eating habits (eating whole foods according to our circadian rhythm as an example) but all current diabetes medication is not alike. Also, when did Tammy day she was diabetic? Or even pre-diabetic?

    • @MichelleNardiArt
      @MichelleNardiArt ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @Jonnie Bankok Totally agreed Jonnie! I have suggested everything you just wrote to Tammy and I think she needs a different nutritionist! I used to be a carb addict and I know how the cycle is vicious! 120 pounds later...I know that I had to drop carbs, especailly sugar. I follow a strictly ketovore way of eating now, but if Tammy reduced her carbs by half of what she is eating now, her cravings and binges will be less frequent. I have to say the one thing that makes me cringe as I watch is when she eats 3 slices of bread and puts butter on them. Then, eats the rice and the pastas. I have so much in common with Tammy and I hope she deals with the stuff in her head and the triggers, but sugar and carbs are an addiction. And...it goes round and round. It is like a hamster on a wheel going round and round, not getting anywhere. Until you can't even turn the wheel and become bed-bound. If I could tell a 30 year old me anything I would say do not waste your life away with the weight and the burdens that keep you unhealthy.

    I cannot have some foods at all anymore. Some I just cannot trust myself with. Like ice cream. I had two coupons for ice cream sundae cones (Drumsticks) each for a box of 8. I got them and put them into my deep freezer in the basement. Less than 36 hrs later... Two empty boxes. I cannot buy ice cream. Find what items you may love, but are sabotaging your future health...and you just have to leave them at the store. And do not stand in the store aisle staring at them until you give into yourself to get them anyway. Cravings are a snotty kid throwing a tantrum because they want candy NOW or they will scream. Ignore them until they finally shut up.

    Hey! So I love that you put a collar on your baby before you let him out. Especially with the bell. But just a suggestion you might wanna to try a cat break away collar instead of the buckle type. The only reason I suggest that is because cats that venture outside are notorious for getting their collars stuck on stuff and accidentally hanging themselves. The break away collars will snap off before that can happen. You might be replacing the collar more often but it is so much safer. Just a thought for you to consider.

    I once filled a fridge door with magnets then found them to be a total pain because they were in the way when I wanted to wipe the door. When that fridge was replaced I never put a single one on the new fridge door.

    Dairy is also carbohydrate, because it has sugar - lactose, as well as fruit, that has fructose, and sugar will spike your insulin levels, and you will have binges because of that. Also, if you cut sugar, your mental health will drastically improve.
    You can eat bread, but buy, or make, one made with almond, or coconut flour, that will not spike your insulin levels.
    If you want to eat sweets, also make, or buy, ones sweetened with stevia, erytrithol or monkey fruits. You can make anabolic ice cream, and eat quite a large portion of it
    Use olive oil, coconut oil, avocado, almonds, and other healthy fats - healthy fats and protein will keep you satiated.
    Eat more fish, and check LCHF/keto diet, you can order keto products online, also
    Good luck. 🙂

    I think you’re doing amazing Tammy. The important thing to remember is regardless of mistakes, you pick yourself back up and not give up.. which you always do! The meals you cook always look so well balanced and delicious! I love how you decorate your place. It really shows off your wonderful personality. Keep up the walking ! It helps immensely with depression. Love your owl magnet! ❤
