Thank you so much for making this. It’s rare to find these kinds of vids centred around those based in the UK

Wow Hosanna, as you spoke, I knew you were heading towards imposter syndrome and I went ahead to say it even before you mentioned it. This was my exact experience. Excited I got in. Started the job. Only black girl on my team. Hearing technical terms I have never heard of before. Using softwares I had no clue about. My excitement quickly turned from yayyy to what the heck am I doing here? I definitely felt like a fraud. Prior to that, I had no clue what imposter syndrome was. Oh my goodness thanks for sharing this. It really helps to know that I am not alone. ♥️♥️

Ikr it's almost as if everyone of all races and both genders faces the problems of not knowing everything when they start a new job. Obviously it's not like Google tells us that imposter syndrome is experienced by both genders equally...

I never heard imposter syndrome until I started researching tech careers. It’s a term I find ridiculous. It’s basically being new and dealing with a learning curve and it’s normal. I don’t understand why the tech field makes being new some strange anomaly. This is coming from a retired nurse.

It doesn't. It's just trendy to play at being a victim.

Neil Armstrong had imposter syndrome, as have many, many famous artists, creatives, etc. It's not just at the start of your job, but the general feeling that you might be exposed as not good enough at any moment. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impostor_syndrome

The word “imposter” is a funny word probably wasnt the best one to describe the feeling of what the term means. In the technology field like hosanna explains, you really are in this constant learning something new phase and it makes you realize just how much knowledge about technology there is that you don’t know and it causes people to kind of recoil and be like omg im not qualified to work in this field! When the reality is everyone has their own unique perspective and skills to bring but surrounded by so many accomplished ppl makes u feel inadequate sometimes.

White man working in tech here. Where do you get the numbers for the people experiencing imposter syndrome? I can confirm much higher proportion of my colleagues are imposters and don't belong in their jobs.

@Big Pimpin Sorry, I don't understand what you're trying to say. Could you clarify what you mean by "leaving everybody alone"?
