- Mont-Aux-Sources Challenge, aka #Monties, is a 50km trail from Mahai Camp, past Witsieshoek Mountain Lodge, past Sentinel Car Park, up the chain ladder and on to the top of the Amphitheatre in the Northern Drakensberg. A steep climb, with the most magnificent views. Back down via a gully, and home through the foothills. A tough 50km, the average time taken is between 8 and 10 hours. Very well organised event with safety protocols in place. Part of the Wild Series of trail events, and a fundraiser for Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife. Highly recommended.
