A beautiful line also on the way back! The Vasttrafik Regina are modern and fast! Up to Uddevalla the landscape is very wooded! After that the line speeds up and even before reaching Gothenburg you pass a freight train. I understand that Siemens Vectrons are now becoming popular all over Europe as locomotives for hauling freight. Beautiful line! Let's hope that if you return to Sweden you will do other lines... It would be nice to do the Gothenburg-Stockholm or Stockholm-Malmoe line.
@wladislaw79 I did Stockholm Malmo and back, beautiful route, but, there were millions of mosquitos...I can not use the videos...I will go back for sure. I loved Sweden. I guess in winter there are no mosquitos...will have to deal with short daylight though.
@@RailRelaxation Upload them anyway! February and March could be great options, the daylight is back and no mosquitos. Although a night video shot around midsummer could be great.
The southern part of Bohusbanan (Uddevalla-Stenungssund-Göteborg) is single tracked just like the northern part, but modernised and fitted with ATC hence permitting 140 kph. This train, however, used the new high-speed line Öxnered-Trollhättan-Göteborg inaugurated in 2013.
Driving the bus from Gothenburg, Uddevalla to Strömstad via the old E6 the railroad line is well known. When the Tanum disaster took place, a museum railroad colleague came from Strömstad av saw the mess. Myself I drove the train replacing buses. Nice to see the line, ff a lot but... What's the track joining the line at time 55:55? Time 1:13:22. No, that track doesn't come from the port but from a totally different installation....
Beautiful video! Thanks a lot! 1:52:52 - Overtaking a cargo train at high speed (202 km/h)! What's up with the rail crossing at Skee station at 8:10? Is this normal procedure?
8:10 Yes, I believe it to be. This crossing is never passed at speed, and the second track is closed for general use. Afaik, no cargo is hauled at this northern part of the line, and the infrastructure is built back since I lived in Strömstad 20+ years ago. South of Skee, sections of track are still fishplate joined, but much has been refurbished or rebuilt. The current stock is way more capable and comfortable than what used to run here - and there are plans for development. However, “the world” is a little different these days, so my info is pretty deprecated now… 😊
The crossing in Skee station is for pedestrians only, a "platform crossing". For a train approaching from Strömstad the barriers are lowered, but when the train stops at the platform after hitting a rail contact, the barriers are raised. When starting from Skee, the train hits the rail contact again, and the warning sequens starts at the crossing and the barriers are lowered. This procedure is a little slow, but the driver is allowed to pass the crossing also when the barriers are not down yet, after having assured him-/herself that noone is approaching on the footpath. Not the best of constructions, but robust.
that's why you messed up the mark in the km, put it back, please fix it a bit, how you see the train because you have a video stack, everything else is great fix
@montgomeryscott1656 It was a really beautiful ride.
Yay! Wonderful video. Great, just great. Vil enjoy this for sure.
@vifgull Enjoy the ride!
Wow. Sweden is developed! A regional train with 200 km/h!!!
@Busfreak4000 😊
@luigibrunomanzini253 Grazie.
Buona giornata.
Ciao.
@DavideZerillo Grazie. Buona serrata.

You should upload this line again when the bohus line between uddevalla and stenungsund reopens and the trains start going via there
@treddevontopratz I will certainly try to do that. Thank you for your suggestion.

The powertrain sounds the same as our X61 where im from!
@adam632 where are you from?
I wish the train driver would clean he's window,, but still enjoying the journey
@paullangton3511 Oh, me too 😊. This is one main thing why I prefer to film from the outside of the cab. The footages are way more beautiful.
Great video, I love the sound of the space between the rail! How about the person at 45:43? is that legal? it looks really close!
@simonlixenstrand7715 I am not sure about if it is legal, I guess no, but for sure it is dangerous to be so close to the passing train.
Bel video 👍👍👍
@lucia9084 Thank you for your compliment.
Tack!
