About the picture: Located in the north of Belgium, close to Antwerp, the city named 'Doel' can most certainly be called a ghost town as it is almost completely abandoned. Since 2013, less than 30 inhabitants are still living in Doel, while more than 2000 inhabitants were registered in earlier years. I made the picture with a hasselblad X1D II 50c, it's roaming the web ever since.

It's a very strong picture. And very nice of you to let us know that, and that the © is your own. I looked at it well, thought at first that it could be somewhere in England but obviously not. So I thought of the very North of France, could recognize some kind of architectural similarity, but it's North Belgium. Thank you Ingrid ;-).

But at the very least it would be more than fairplay as quite normal if whoever using it would put the © down with your name. I'm very fussy on this myself, have been a journalist for years, so it's a strict question of deontology on my point of view. No one is allowed to use somebody else work, even if it be amateur, not only without permission but with the name of the artist or amateur, doing nice things. Or not. Somewhere it's a rip-off, and minimum decency.

You're not supposed to listen to anything while meditating. The whole point of meditation is that you clear your mind entirely and deny the will to live. Both your mind and your body always want to be stimulated and to enjoy an active existence in the world. Meditation teaches you to deny that impulse and to desire nothing and be content with nothingness. If you're listening to music you're defeating the whole point. Read Schopenhauer.

I am a translator and I love these mixes while working for several hours in a row in front a a screen. It brings a presence, an energy but nothing overwhelming or distractive. Thank you bro.
Back in 2015 i did the same when i was doing my translation homeworks except for i listned to a playlist of new-age piano. I know that there is method like that in studying called suggestopedia (?) But i'd never thought somebody else in a different corner of this world would listen to an instrumental playlist while translating just like me. Heartwarming and sad!

The picture was taken in Doel in Belgium. Doel is a village that had been cleared to make room for the Antwerp docks. But the terrain never got used. There's some people still living there. Special place as you can see. Nice music too! :-)

It was good times. I do feel lucky to of come of age as dance music and raves were what was happening. It has to be said that drugs played a big part. People wanted to relive their summer holiday and the clubs in place like ibiza. The rise of house music in 87 and 88 created the perfect mix. In Britain dance clubs were relatively few. Certainly ones that played the new house music. Hence the rise of the diy illegal rave in late 80s early 90s, until the government made them illegal. By then the clubs had caught on and many new clubs opened including the rise of the superclub like cream, or ministry. No over saturation of footage, because no camera phones.
This type of music was so helpful for me to be able to focus and do a bunch of statistics homework in one sitting 👍
Getting back to this on regular basis, again and again. I'd take your 'compilations' over pretentious dj sets anytime, anywhere. This kind of expression and presentation gives way more justice to the producers. To hear the whole thing, the way it's made to be, instead of warped and twisted clips, stems, layers and samples. Kudos to all the DJs out there, but thrice as much kudos to the work, effort and talent of the producers. The way you let these mixtapes fly, at least for me, is the real deal. I had my fair share of parties during 90's. Now I only want music. And this is exactly how I want it. Many thanks for your gratuitous efforts, and keep them coming !

For awhile now, I've wondered about some of the music I hear as backgrounds to certain videos. But I never had a name for it till now, and I found it only by typing different words into the search line. I really like this. Unlike most so-called relaxation videos, this is calming and not annoyingly repetitive. And also unlike most music, it isn't evocative of anything, good or bad. And some days, "just being" is enough.
Sometimes that’s the best way to find music, just type or click at random and see where it takes you.

I heard this style of music the first time in Cavendish Square, London year 2000. It was per chance I stumbled upon a shop which was shaped like a tunnel zinc plate and enough neon spandex to lit Dubai. Among the mystic raver paraphernalia they were also selling copies of home grown albums at the checkout stationed by 2 bubblegum chewing girls seemingly stoned out of their minds at 2 o'clock on a Tuesday afternoon. This was back in 2000 but never really knew what it was back then and back and I never thought to ask. Glad to hear that it's survived this long. Nothing beats the trippy atmospheric ambience brought all the way along its journey.

Just recently getting into this kind of music...I really like the vibes it gives off. When I was down, I saw this and smiled, just like the wall in the distant background is smiling at me...I knew it would be a good listen!

Thanks I just tried this mix for studying and it works perfectly, the tempo is inbetween high and low so I can concentrate, don't get bored or too excitated and I can fly, dream and "travel" from time to time with the melody and the "vapor wave vibes".I've been waiting for to find the style and type that I need for so long. I love this. I listen to this when I spent countless hours in the amazing ArmA III Eden editor and it helps me to not procrastinate and actually inspires me to make things much more detailed. I always liked this kind of music but never explored it until I searched for Ambient music or something along the lines. Glad I did. Almost takes me to another dimension.

Join a gym sort your diet out, detox, and get disciplined. It worked for me years ago. When you get stronger mentally and physically adopt a philosophy of not giving a fuck what anybody thinks of you. Good luck with your first steps.

I'm in love with dub techno. It's become my go-to working music. It puts me in more of a trance than any other style of electronic music. Images that come to mind range from humid jungles to frozen peaks to futuristic bleak cities. Such a good sound.

@@HarrisonDivecha It is really interesting the different imagery that comes to mind. I had a great experience listening to Deepchord in a very tropical environment. Mangroves, salt water etc. Since then the deepchord hiss and warmth of the sound made me think of humidity etc. Anyway, yay music :)

This is calming me down for sleep a lot more than ASMR,Biaural beats, ambient rain and even ENYA, YT algorithm is so good for jazz,funk,soundtracks,russian house music and Tibetan throat singing and now techno dub. Cheers.
J Goodfellow I’ve never understood everyone’s interest in ASMR. I would imagine ambient/dub to be better for relaxation and sleeping.
There are some really good ASMRtists like ASMR with Juliet or ATMOSPHERE which with earphones can give you shivers while you lay back relaxing after a long day. It has more of an soothing effect when you are familiar with their voice. I really like the techno dub since been listening to Early electronic music thru the 80s Jan Hammer to now and it is now coming to it's own. Thanks for your reply.

It’s a beautiful thought knowing there’s others out there who absolutely melt into these dark and dreamy sounds with me. Beloved dub beats. 🖤 This takes me back to a time I traveled, solo, to Stockholm, in the dead of winter, December 2015 and became friends with people involved in their underground scene there. Pure bliss.
I’d recommend the track “Classic dub” by Anton Zap for all who enjoy this mix. Underrated Russian artist.

@@egonn87 Będąc w Tresorze (Berlin) pierwszy raz w klubie na revie, wypiłem 3 piwa więc czułem lekką fazę (nie biore niczego innego) tańcząc przez około 5h z zamkniętymi oczami (tam jest tak grubo że wytrzeźwiałem całkowicie po godzinie haha) ojjj nie potrzebujesz żadnych stymulantów. Jak to się mówi ''Wszystko jest w głowie".
