Hey guys! I have a pattern tutorial up tonight. In this video, I show how I develop a raglan sleeve and matching bodice patterns using my basic sleeve & bodice blocks. I also test the patterns and make necessary corrections which I share towards the end of the video. Enjoy ^.^
Thank you. Super helpful. Have never sewn a raglan. I have been watching videos on the pattern work for a raglan, but none demonstrated how to actually sew it up. Thanks again!
Priscilla, Diane Deziel gives a slighty different spin on raglan. You are so very transparent. Not many designers - I have not come across one, except you that willingly shows us the trying side of designing. EVERYONE displays his or her perfectly finished look. You are authentic. God bless you and yours.
Your videos are so clear, but what I really love is that you just jump in and film your first try…mistakes and all! It helps me to know that even experts are always learning. Very encouraging, thank you 💕
I had exactly the problem that you had, which is why I came to youtube to find a solution! thank you for including that bit. :) Very helpful, now I know how to fix my pattern!
Thank you so much For posting this! I'm glad you show your mistakes because it shows how to fix them as well. This is something not a lot of people do, which does leave me little frustrated if I'm honest. I'm a new student fashion designer in the north east of England the school I go to is a bit over capacity so sometimes I don't get the attention I need to help fix mistakes. This is why I started watching you. You show your pattern making, including your mistakes, and how to fix them. You have saved my backside in any of my projects!
Awwww thank you for this lovely comment. I'm always worried when I share my mistakes but I know someone would appreciate the process of showing the error & correction. Thank you for letting me know that it was totally worth it to share my mistakes without the fear of being criticized.
No problem and it's very much true! I appreciate your channel so much and how you approach the projects. It's easy for someone who isn't experienced to get flustered and give up when they don't know how to fix either a pattern or fitting issue which you address in your videos. You are amazing and an inspiration x Keep doing what you do! You do amazing work!
I’m so grateful I found you sweetheart. I’m looking forward to more of your videos. Was wondering if there is a way to get rid off the shoulder seam ? 🥰🙏❤️
I’m 3D artist and need to make a raglan shirt for an avatar. Modelling programs are genrally quite similar but easier than actual sewing but the raglan shape oh it was pain in the a**I tried to make it for a week so hard and fail countless but this tutorial save my life! your shirt is working even on computer thanks :D
Priscilla, you are a God sent. thanks for making all these tutorials with detailed explanations love the way you always point out your mistake and show how to correct them. God bless you and keep up the good work. Biggest fan from Ghana
Thank you for this tutorial. I’m having a hard time making sure the point that the top of the shoulder isn’t so prominent. Do you have any tips for making it smoother/less noticeable? Thanks!
This a great video Kim but I’m not very clear on the error you made and how you corrected it- once you have cut out the sleeve and front and back pieces , are you saying you need to “walk” the seams to make sure they match?.
Hello, I'm just starting to drape so I'm still a newby to draping.. I ended confused so I will watch again to figure where my confusion began. I love your videos and thank you for sharing your skills.
The notch on the front arm curve which you draw your line to meet is positioned ... how? Is that covered in your basic sleeve block pattern making video?
My dear u r really doing well 👏👏 as for this tuto could u give me idea the measurement u use when u corrected the swollen underarm area with ur notch am not cleared thnx.
@@KimDave .... I definitely agree..stitching the toile of a similar fabric is usually quite ideal, sometimes you just need to see it stitched up before you cut your "good" fabric....
A notch is a connecting point between pattern pieces. It helps to ensure correct joining of seams when sewing your garment. For example the waistline notch on the front bodice should match the waistline notch on the back bodice. I hope this helps.

The notch on the front arm curve which you draw your line to meet is positioned ... how? Is that covered in your basic sleeve block pattern making video?
Hi Kim I really love watching your videos. Is it possible for you to do the tutorial for drafting bodice pattern for origami tops?
Thanks, you're great.
Wow. Thanks so much!
You're welcome Tunrayo
I love it! Do you have any tutorials for the Ragland yoke?

You're welcome 😊
On the front pattern, you dropped by 5cm on the neckline but how much on the armhole? Same q for that back pattern
My dear u r really doing well 👏👏 as for this tuto could u give me idea the measurement u use when u corrected the swollen underarm area with ur notch am not cleared thnx.
❤❤❤
How do you attach the rib knit fabric to the collar?
Woow Kim!!just wooow!!💋❤😍😘😍😘
Jennyyyyyyyy 😂😊😘💞
Very nice
Do you prefer to toile with material rather than making a tissue fit first?
Yes because using material similar to your final fabric will tell you how the pattern behaves.
@@KimDave .... I definitely agree..stitching the toile of a similar fabric is usually quite ideal, sometimes you just need to see it stitched up before you cut your "good" fabric....
Draft your patterns without seam allowance, then add it after you're done. That way, you can avoid mistakes like that. :)
How will you attach the zipper to the hem?
Why is there a need to divide the rib knit fabric cuff into four?
How to put the gathers in Raglan sleeve at the neck?
👌
How can we add gathers in sleeve?
❤
Where can I buy a full dressform in UK
You can check Amazon or Morplan for a full dressform
What is a notch and when is it used
A notch is a connecting point between pattern pieces. It helps to ensure correct joining of seams when sewing your garment. For example the waistline notch on the front bodice should match the waistline notch on the back bodice. I hope this helps.
GOOD
Good. to make a version of the raglan sleeve without shoulder dart with elastic Fiber.
Why flat pattern making y not draping pattern making?
Great to see it. I did it too. The plans from Woodglut helped me a lot :)
Pls I want to be fans,so pls I don't understand show again I'm very interest to know how to cut the reglan sleeve thanks
Like 💗
Love the video. But please get yourself some NEW pins. Especially if you will use them on the tutorials.
