Funding based on primary vote!!!! That way small party's that dont win get funding. Also partys that win on preferences are handicapped

Going through the bill and how to fix this you must think... The only way they will put rules on there greed is if they have there next loophole set up... Go back to that public funding model again.. its not perfect but tcks way more boxes than rules to hold back the tide with sandcastle

Transparency, Accountability and Truth in politics; until all three are accepted and legislated as fundamental to good government in Australian I will continue to put the LNP and Labor last at the ballet box.

Recommend Australia try democracy... it works for most of the democratic world, and in the U.N. you know it... respect voluntary voter turn-out. In line with the second part of the second line of Advance Australia Fair.

I feel like Kate has totally missed the fact that both parties have caucuses where they decide on policy. I'm not privy to the LNP, but the ALP have factional caucus that meet regularly, then state executives where policy ideas, created at branch level are discussed and introduced to the party platform.
Where Australians miss out is not being members of either party.
There is a reason party discipline has formed, its to prevent our system being held to ransom as it does in the US by one or two lone democrats that shoot down progressive ideas. At least when policy has been formed, all the ideas have been discussed at caucus.
Shes right, in that Australians should feel more participative in the electoral process, but we need to encourage more party membership, no matter what party. Join branches. Attend state and federal executives. Get in and discuss your policy ideas for government so it can be pushed and legislated for. Unfortunately a 75+ year campaign by the media to erode the legitimacy of the political system has taken its toll.

Corruption from legal to economics to politics, this is why Independents and Greens must be the future, as this program has indicated.

I did think that as well but .. greens talk big about fixing housing with tax reform.. I believe all our leaders know the reason housing is unaffordable is gov should build large scale social housing... All. Other solutions are there to fail and look like they trying...

You do realise that all you are doing is ceding what little power and choice you have to those who do vote... If you are disillusioned with the current system then work to change the system (hint: the system is NOT some natural state of things, it is entirely made up, and it can be changed), even if all that means is giving 1 more vote to a minor candidate or party to let them know that they are supported.

The era of procrastination, of half measures, of soothing and baffling expedients, of delays should have come to its close quite some time ago. In its place we have already entered the period of consequences, shouldered by just 12million revenue producing civilians. Strange how there is no difference between Commonwealth & Continent. The only inhabited continent on earth that doesnt have land based International frontiers when Nature ordains that we must.

I had considered the problem of public funding on a per vote base.. the dismissal of it also being unfair is part of the problem with our society.. to me you it says . I can nit think of a perfect system so we have to accept masvie wide acale C4251ion
