Dehaka all round sounds strong. Except I think his swarm hosts cost more. And creeper hosts are only useful if you can deny the swarm hosts pushing your line back. So with good support: dehaka can endure and break the deadlock. To get support you have to stack with your allies wave, which means they can't be dying to swarm hosts themselves.

lil psa: the +75% cooldown speed, due to inner workings of the game, only really reduces the cooldown by ~42.9% which is still good, but not 75%, most of the time you'll want to NOT stack reductions, since they have diminishing returns
yeah since it is "+x% cooldown speed" and not "-x% cooldown time" its really not that great to stack too many of them but with locusts limited lifetime its probably not worth to pick +30hp more than once either and since you really only want to delay the opponent all the dmg auras are probably also not worth tl;dr the 2nd set of auras was probably ideal
I spent all day yesterday spamming dehaka and abathur locust. You're almost guarenteed to get at least one cool down speed aura, and it's glorious. Even Life-Life-Life locust without cooldown reduction is amazing.
My personal favorite for this weekly is stukov with life auras, both the civilians and the broodlings get the extra health so you can rain death with siege tanks while they slowly chew through your almost unkillable hordes

next time you get a chance to do this again, just get a team of 3 people all going swarm hosts and allow the infinite locust to truly, become the INFITNATE locust
I feel that any odd strategy against a Tychus is not a real test. Of all the commanders, he is the one least able to adapt his build from his original plan. His units are just too expensive, it takes him forever to bring out a counter - and by the time you do, you are propably 1 wave out of sync and need something else entirely. And a 3v2 just reinforces that, forcing him to fight 3 different enemies with different builds. But I agree it is a hard thing to counter. The problem is that Locusts are both a siege weapon and targetable. To defeat a siege unit, you have to hit it. But the locusts clog up the targetting so much, units rarely get to shoot the spawners themself. Also abilitxy based AoE just fails - it has to be a passive AoE.

The problem with cat and mouse is that over the course of a year or slightly more, it has been reworked 2-3 times at least, massively changing the gameplay. Like atm, instead of being able to spawn a second cat, even if with changed stats, you start with 500 hp, but respawn infinitely, each time with +2k hp or something, and a longer respawn time, the walls aren't entirely minerals anymore, 2/3 of the base locations are covered in destructible rocks, etc. But in general, would be nice to do.
I wonder if Spread Oil might be worth it against the Swarm Hosts if you’re Tychus vs Abathur. The thing about unending tides of locusts is that there can be a potential for an unending tide of flame, and the situation changing would probably call for it as a more cost-effective way to beat endless locust.
this was how swarm host should have felt in spawn time (just let it cost 1-2 minerals each spawn, so not free'). though if they just built 1 raven+ a few banshee its easy to take out the locus, it also give you an excuse for bc late game xD
I feel like Artanis or Fenix would have a fairly good chance at beating the infinite swarm hosts. Colossi/Warbringer do immense damage to giant mobs of low armor units. And, with Talis and Adepts having bouncing shots, I imagine they'd be pretty good at clearing that as well. Only thing would be trying to balance that out so the Protoss wave isn't hardcore shut down by the other enemy waves.
What if you build up to a strong number of swarm hosts, and have two buddies as your teammates who leave. So you are spawning the hosts every single spawn
Imagine going Stukov, choosing 3 +30hp bonuses, then mass infested civilians + infested marrines. A cheap, mass produced army more tankier that they should have any right to be. Especially if you put i. tanks + i. diamondbacks behind them.

I got harassed for this entire brawl if I built anything except swarm hosts when I had swarm hosts available, regardless of my auras. Was fun, but I got tired of getting micromanaged.
the only counter i can think of is... aerial splash? is there a thing? Does Swann's science vessel have Irradiate? Do the locust have Pressurized Glands?
Would tychus be able to survive somewhat with blaze frontline and nikara healers? I'm assuming blaze would upgrade oil spill, nikara probably upgrades healing rate, tychus gets armor pen rounds, and overall going for full armor upgrades? Alternatively with sirius instead of blaze for explosive turrets and missile?
Han and Horner Vikings would probably do well too if you kept them on the ground. Edit: Or if they don't contest the sky at all, just fly them behind the Swarm hosts and then land.

it is not "+x% reduction" it is "+x% speed" aka +100% speed is "only" twice as fast aka half cooldown

Yes to both of those, nova banshees would do well though, they can aoe burst the first wave and go straight for the locusts

I found cooldown abaththur raveagers counter it pretty hard cause they get of there cooldown before they hatch
mass swann goliaths for some reason counters this. I lost this way once. I think it's the super high range of goliaths. swarms can't reach
