Thank you! Have the new Light and was getting so frustrated, especially with the added burden of rain or drizzle. And running a 4090. Now able to comfortably run 120 with some dips that I can live with. Will experiment more but thank you. Was feeling lost before I found this video.
Using these settings even after the rain update, using a 3070, but with NIS@85% and running at 90Hz, getting a solid 90FPS with occasional dips down to 80FPS when lots of cars(20) are on track with heavy rain. Thanks mate for the great video!
I hope it helps! I omitted some information to keep it short but if you need to gain some extra frames in the iRacing settings uncheck HDR and also lower your Shader settings. Also Foveated rendering actually hurts performance on my system currently it may not be similar on others though so didn't include it in the video.
I have been thinking of going over to Vr for years since my 27" - 49" - 27" takes up to much space. With the Crystal now here there aint really any excuses left
Wow that must be a wide setup! The change to vr will be massive here but if you aren't too invested in extra dashboards or screens on wheels etc I can highly recommend it. 120hz on vr at these resolutions is (and I hate using this term) a game changer!
@@gibilator It is kind of massive and to able to get it to work in iRacing some adjustments in dx11 are needed. 10240 x 1440 :) The thing is that the outer screens are in line with my ears so the Fov is massive, that is the only thing i am concerned about. But i know the feeling Vr gives so it is only a matter of time ;)
I purposefully omitted the first page of the OXRTK because of sporadic effects. I will explore this when the beta is released and more people have it in their hands. YMMV but I had negative effects with FR enabled.
Thanks for this video - so helpful! Can you confirm what App CPU, rdr CPU, and GPU values we should be getting? Both App CPU and rdr CPU should be below 8 or is it just rdr CPU that should be below 8? GPU below 7?
Yeah 7 is the magic number safely for gpu 8 is fine for cpu as I find that is a lot more stable. If you can hold 7 on longbeach or VIR you should be alright everywhere.
Hi mate, iv been using open xr for ages but just made the jump over to iracing. This is one of the best, simple and most concise guide I have seen for open xr tbh. Well done. I see u have a garage 61 guide also which I am watching as I type. Odd question, I seem to be getting some odd voices when using it, any idea how to turn it off? I can’t see anywhere lol, cheers and have a great Sunday.
So kind thanks for the feedback! Concise is what I was going for here. Voices is a strange one. To my knowledge, there is no audio involved with G61 so I would perhaps try muting other sources in windows and see if you can find the gremlin.

Hey Richard, this is a closed beta firmware which I regret actually showing. It is a sore point for some that it hasn't been released.
