Oh my God - it's a revelation! It's transformed my attacking play. Could never ever seem to beat defenders, always tackled, no matter what I did. Coming off R1 sprint momentarily when the defender is 6yds away & cutting in 90 degrees is the answer to all my troubles. Seems to get me into way better scoring positions and added bonus my player seems to be a lot better balanced when taking shots. (Still can't defend for shit though!!) 🙈🤭😡 Thanks Spoony.

That would be ace - look forward to it. Back to attacking, still a little confused as to when to use Super Cancel or the close control method when the defender is very close and trying to jostle?? 🤷♂️

It makes me sad that you won't be making any more pes 2021 tutorials. Your knowledge is outstanding. I get a warm fuzzy feeling every time I watch any of your vids. The prospect if improving is a good emotion to have. I fall in and out of love with this game. The scripting in master league was getting too much. The virtuared V5 mod injected life back into the game. Not played 2023, but this seems the best PES to date. After tweaking my formation many times I find things are easier. Just need to nail these skills to feel accomplishment. Thanks for all your great work!

@@SpoonyPizzas Think I've seen them all. They're masterpieces of work. I spent an hour on corners. Can't imagine how you learnt so much. So glad you didn't try to monetise them on discord or such like. I'm so bad with tricks n skills. I spent over an hour trying to attempt the best corner tutorial. Most of the time the corner taker skies the ball over the guys in the box. I got the technique down, but so many over hit crosses. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Got any tips? Haha :-) "watch the bloody video". I did. Many times. I think I'm slightly retarded. Scored some nice goals through... In training.
I got it. Finally. Tricky part is positioning the striker w/t super cancel. Easily took two hours. Doesn't come easy. It's what she said. Oh dear.

Good video. I still can't properly grasp the use of super cancel. I don't know why, it just doesn't seem very intuitive as to when it's useful. In really old PES, it was only really used to take the player out of his 'auto' running path. Trying to force myself into using it in more situations now.

I totally agree. It seems the buttons for super cancel do more than simply cancel depending on the situation!
This is the type of dribble I use a lot: high speed, with continuous cross moves. I slow down via super cancel to allow the defender to stay near and I open the ball with sprint right in his back. For this type, I want speed and explosiveless, as they are essential to have high accelerations. I always use the open space, either in the side or cut inside, depending on the strong foot of my player. With this way, I open the ball in a place where I have free space towards my attacker and the opponent post, so I can turn and execute via a simple or curved shot or header. But the important is that I already have created my scenario of how I want to attack and I adapt my tactic in the player characteristics, so as to exploit my advantages over the opponent's disadvantages. This is essential, as no matter if you have the best dribble, you won't be able to score unless you know exactly what you want to do. Cheers to all, dudes, keep yourselves safe.

On that note. Spoony, maybe use Bayern M or Shalke home field. Even during the day the whole pitch is in a shadow and its easier to see what's going on in your tutorial.

Exactly. I was a fifa player from 94 to 15 and it abused fifa online and offline with skill moves I still do on the odd chance I play it the mechanics never change in fifa. Pes on the other hand its skill moves are useless against A.I OFFLINE mode the defender knows what skill I am doing and 5akes the ball ever time.

Hey Spoony, I think what I learned from this video is, until now I didn't release the Analog Stick before pushing it to the next direction, I always immediately changed to the new direction but then you will always get muscled off the ball. Completely releasing it then picking the new direction changed this problem, so thank you!
Also, a question, do you use a lot of Super Cancel when the opponent is shielding the ball from you? If yes, what's the correct timing? Cause I can't quite get the hang of it, once they move their body between my player and the ball, it's like my player is glued to their back and either does nothing or fouls the opponent.

Hold it down, double tap pushes the ball out and can be useful as defenders close but it's a slower sprint.

If you are constantly having to use this super cancel to stop the AI jostling you the reffering decistions are flawed as its obstruction every time , they can not grapple with you like they doing this game they constantly foul you very annoying but great tutorial 😁👍
Thanks dude, totally agree but the way the mechanics work...is that when the player is disconnected from the ball from a tug from opponent the super cancel helps ignore their tug and allows you to associate your player with the ball again. Weird but it works

No problem dude. You can use that controller on pc using DS4 app. Works perfectly and the input lag is minimal. It's perfect and best controller imo. Xbox controllers feel too cumbersome and stiff and clicky!

quite interesting that you've not really mentioned using the finesse dribble to also bait defenders before exploding out of the dribble move. I've incorporated everything but the super cancel to fight for the ball(i do it defensively but didnt think to do it offensively). but the finesse dribble is super integral imo. i mainly play online though but these concepts with finesse work so incredibly well. great job on the vid
Thanks dude, I covered that in the finesse dribble tutorial and to be honest, wanted to talk about high speed dribbling here. Should've mentioned it in close control tutorial though. However those techniques are better and more useful imo (offline as AI is Lazer guided)
Loving your PES content. Best I've seen on TH-cam. Followed the modding one's as well. What speed do you play on. I'm used to the faster arcade type of FIFA.

First hold R1 and get speed up to max - may take 3,4 or 5 touches depending on player.
Once you're at MAX speed... Release SPRINT when you're ready to cut inside defender and then apply sprint!
R1 + R2 IF a defender gets close...this helps shield the ball at high speed.

Hai spoony.. So when we want to cut inside first must release both sprint and direction stick.. Then press the direction whr we want go together with sprint.. Once done that, press super cancel...correct me if I'm wrong..
No need for super cancel unless you're being challenged but every thing you said is correct...try going 90 degrees when angling L-Stick to give the defender a wide berth

Dude, I promise you, the change will make it worthwhile. You'll be a better player once you've got used to it instantly. It'll take 6-9months I imagine but your game will be on another level

One very important tips. Your camera setting. You want to see the ball and the player you’re controlling to get better timing.
When you cut inside does it always have to be 90 degree's away from the defender?
Nice video. I have another issue when playing online: sometimes when I play against a team like Liverpool they're constantly sprinting hard at my direction just as I'm receiving the ball. Is there anything I can do to prevent losing the ball other than immediately passing? I find some online players are really good at pressuring while clogging up passing lanes making it hard to advance the ball without giving up possession
jar I think the biggest problem with online is the input lag passing,shooting,tackling are all a lot slower online.Thats why it’s hard to beat the press online.
Really the best advice is to use the minimap and see where the most space is, exploiting it to maximum effect. The goal is to make the press take longer to arrive, giving you a fraction of a second more time to make the right pass. In this, don't be afraid to switch the ball to opposite wings, and also to pass sideways and backwards. Avoid trying to do shielding in the midfield or in your own half, to avoid disastrous counters. All easier said than done. The big issue here is that Konami have made aggressive pressing easy to pull off, with minimal risk, with overpowered ball winning stats (tiny players knocking over Vieira to win the ball), minimal stamina cost, and a dodgy ref (post-demo). It invites this playstyle, and it's highly OP unfortunately.

Hello. It's been a depressing week. I have been trying to play my country agaisnt spain. But it's just so heartbroken moment in pes 2020. I just cant get past my defence. I know last time you said that you dont do any 2020 only 2021. But you I love this game but all the hard work after that I still cant score. I end up getting beaten 4 0. Please can you send me one of your tutorials. I know my country isnt great becuase its 3 stars, but I love it. Thanks.

Thanks dude, I feel like it fills the quiet times and I've minimised it through the video editor (-28dB) but still turns out quite loud.
I'm wondering if with the most recent update this method of dribbling is not that effective. The AI routinely slide tackles when I sprint (exploiting the space between my player and the ball). The AI is pretty masterful at it.

Yeah don't do that, sometime it helps in getting to the ball faster to pass the ball but basically you either have to slide tackle but it really depends who last touched the ball which determines what you can do. I usually super cancel and charge in like a bull - see my super cancel videos

I got this game about a week ago. Switched to super star difficulty to learn how to play better. I havent scored one goal since I got this game. I've an xbox one so contorllers are different. When I sprint, defenders catch up to me in a snap. Everytime I shoot it's a walk in the park for their goalie. I did switch to manual shooting and unassisted passing last night and noticed different behavior from the AI along with my own. Don't know the difference between manual and advanced yet anyways. I just don't want to play on basic and beginner. Still frustrated though.
Let's see you do some skilled dribble runs because for some reason it's harder for me to pull off skills

Super cancel overrides all button pressed except L-Stick

Just when there is a separation between ball and player, this helps fight back to retain the ball.

About holding players off or tackling? Only works when there's a disconnect between player and ball (as if your player doesn't actually have the ball)

@@MicuBamba well you don't technically hold it whilst running. Only when you become disconnected so partially right lol. I didn't even know I was doing it (same with a lot of stuff I do) only notice when I watch the controller input back during a specific scene captured. Only noticed I press L3 A LOT too lol
It may seem like you suck at the game. This is the first PES since the ps2 I've played, and I got to say the frustration that FIFA has given me. It's the inspiration I needed to stick with it. After 40+ games I finally started to win or draw on a constant streak. So I would say if you first time switching from fifa, dont get frustrated, even if you lose every game. Start playing against the COM, and slowly raise the difficulty. And randomly play online against someone. I got to say PES 2020 is more realistic when it comes to how the game in real life is. Hope it keeps getting better. With the support of more people switching to it.
Welcome to the channel dude. It's a difficult switch to make as FIFA is like...fast player level with defence, through ball and goal lol. This is a bit more challenging but fat more rewarding!

Do you play on Amateur difficulty? Cuz there is no way the players are gonna let you go once you go past them
Valencia games were on Legend and other games were on Superstar. Check my MLs if you don't believe me
Spoony, do you think online play is scripted. I have played 170 games online and won 75 drawn 20 and lost 75. I won 7 games in a row and then immediately lost 7 games in a row bcs the game was matching me with teams that were either 300+ rating than me or had 1000 more games than me. It really is a great game but it's so frustrating 😤
Motivation 24/7 the game is obviously scripted lol this also happened in the demo I would be Barcelona and someone’s with juventus I’d crush them 3-0 than someone uses a lower league team that’s like 70 rated and I’d lose 2-0.My players were slow I was less clinical my defenders acted like retardes.Fifas and pes online are both just scripted bullshit.The only difference is pes tries to hide it lol
Don't play online enough to say it is...but you see great players go on LONG winning streaks...so I would guess unlikely.
When I play online, I don't even bother looking at my opponents rating or w/l ratio etc. I just play my game and if I'm up to it, good mentality, focused, creative etc I do OK. If I'm tired, running on auto, not concentrating I do badly. Of course, it's a computer game so there are some elements that are out of your control but the idea of a script purposefully trying to do me over seems ridiculous. There are so many other factors that come into play that most players refuse to consider and the term "script" gets bandied about. It's simply impossible that I can play every game at an identical level of ability, just like real football games.

Like I said above, I won 7 & I immediately lost 7 straight after... Why? Because in those 7 games I lost, all were 300+ rating higher and far better teams with all the best players. Ofc in the game, things happen to both players and you accept it's part of the game but the way the matching system works is silly and could be perceived as scripted when my team has only Neymar and other team has Messi, Ronaldo, and lots of classic players etc. This isn't a slur on PES either as I enjoy the game but they do need to sort the matchmaking out as it's unfair right now.
@@Motivation-no3mo 17/20 away games does seem a bit strange although I never notice these things myself or even know what the difference is in terms of gameplay with advantage/disadvantage etc! And a slew of players with a rating difference of 300+ does indeed seem very unfair mate. I agree that's rubbish and very frustrating! I've not experienced a run like that myself.
I have read some people saying that whenever they get matched with a much lower rated player their team plays like guff, or that the game goes against you when you're trying for the 5th or 10th consecutive win. The list goes on. So I guess what I'm trying to say is that we can look for all sorts of reasons why we're on a losing streak etc.
As I say, I never look at the ratings etc prior to the match. It gives me quite a good chance to accurately evaluate my opponents' current abilities (I say current because of course they too are subjected to the same variables in gameplay that I am too; their concentration etc) Sometimes I am really surprised by how well/poorly some others play afterwards when I see their low/high ratings.
I do understand how frustrating the game is at times though!

@@SpoonyPizzas they've changed them (the tactics) this year new compactness/formations/defensive lines and from looking at the channels of people I already follow they haven't done this yet so for PES content there is a gap there somebody could fill

If u don't know yet, u have to win 5 games on superstar level for it to unlock

This game is the worst Pes Ever, Pique, McGuire and Boateng are tanks,can't get through , around or pass them, they have speed like Bale, Messi and Adama Traore alltoghether. trough pass ? where is it? 50% of my passes somehow are intercepted with or without opponent wanting to, my players don't manage to do this they only slightly deflect the ball but somehow still to get to a another of opponent teammates. I play Ajax , my defence it's all over the place, the game switches a central defender when I need a left or right back. And when I need a first touch my player decides toke a round turn and the pass goes to my opponent of course. , I want to play the teammate next to me the pass goes to the furthest...

Facts bro passing I feel is this games biggest problem every game I always have at least 5 misread passes in fifa I never have any.
@@giovanni848 it is normal to make some wrong passes, but this is terrible, the most annoying thing is when I play against, Barcelona, psg , juve, they make long accurate passes, I don't dare to make a long pass, because the CB gets it or he is faster than my wingers or CFs .

I found a formation to ruin AI's play with 4 CBs 2DM and 3 attackers; wide. Worked well but u will only have to rely on counterattacking game which is boring over the time.
And if AI cant seem to get their way, somehow u will end up losing 1-0 , they get an own goal which is absurd and bournemouth goalie suddenly turns into De Gea, saving each and every shots.
Pes 20 is better than fifa imo but konami really need to work on the AI.

Spoony is double tapping sprint more or less effective than in the demo
I rarely use double tap spring unless it's stuck under my players foot. I find release L-Stick and then pushing L-Stick and direction much more effective

Yup, same mechanics... especially if someone is letting AI defend for them but the distance will vary as other players may come out of defence a bit quicker..plus the lag element...to deal with.

Spoony have you got a special patch file..because no way my pes play or move anywhere near as smooth and fast as yours goin else most these things i believe i would be able tp manage but not on current respose i got here and its not my tv..im playing on a c9 oled only bought last year with response of 14ms..and i playe at speed +1 too but i cant manage to get players to make these responses.
I'm on 0 speed mate and this is base vanilla gameplay (DP6). It'll take time and practice but you'll get there dude... Keep trying

I don't understand how you sprint like nothing and when I do it, within the first few seconds they already caught up to me. This game is pretty frustrating. Not fun as of now. What's the difference between advanced and manual shooting presets? Are you playing on beginner mode? Looks too easy.

why can we dribble easier in fifa rather than pes? in fifa you can both dribble and pass.. but in pes you should only pass.. Am I right?
It's possible to dribble in PES but it's aimed at more a realistic game than FIFA. FIFA is good arcadey fun and if you watch some matches you'll see like 3 step overs a rainbow flick, countless drag backs before scoring a tornado kick. You can dribble in PES but getting past 3 players would be the same as doing it in real life...rare
