Vapor xxx was the launching point

see my other comment... yeah, that might have been a step forward, but NXG was the one that changed the game in the pros

I have found durability in the shaft to be a major issue. I am not one to hit the post with my stick to get ready or after I let in a goal and just from shots the shaft starts caving and snapping. I broke a hyperlite stick in less than 30 days so I got one from warranty and I decided to only use it in games, but even doing that it still breaks fairly easy. The shaft seems to be the only weak point I have found and it is hands down my favourite stick to use.

Yup, I went through two sticks both breaking at the shaft

that's the tough thing about reviewing them or commenting on the durability. As I mentioned in the review, I have had great luck with HL. I am sorry yours is breaking the shaft.

I feel like you must have forgotten about the vapor XXX. That stick was in my mind the most iconic and revolutionary to date

It was not forgotten, I think that one got the ball the moving, but the NXG was the turning point. The NXG was the one that switched the majority of NHL players. Vapor XXX was like Theo, Ward, and Vokun? It was a step forward but as impactful, IMO

I'm excited to see how the Mach stick turns out when it hits retail. I love the ergo spine and love the penta grip on my Nexus player stick. I can see Bauer wanting to keep these options separate at retail and only together as a custom option.

I heard a rumor the the prostock customizer enables both. That would be a wild stick!

Sticks do break, that's the tough thing about reviewing them or commenting on the durability.

Have you checked out the 3x? No penta grip but looks like it’s around 700 grams and only $150. Pretty sure that’s the lightest for that price point

Nope, but I’d imagine it’s probably more durable too. There’s usually a correlation between weight and durability with sticks too.

I like the Bauer 3S Pro for next best option that’s not top of the line

For some reason I can’t use a super light stick. Almost like a light softball bat. U have no control or weight behind the hit of the ball. If the sticks to light I have no control. I find the ccm premier 2 pro is the best weight for me. Has some weight behind the shot of the puck. And still light enough to manage for reaction time.

You should check out a Vapor 2X if you can find it. It is not crazy light and it is crazy durable. It you played with a heavier stick your whole life, it's understood you might not like something that is "too light"

Also do u find the pro return goalie sticks are lighter then the stock on the shelf sticks

don't know, generally steer away from stock gear because it's not as practical for me to review that is not easily accessible to consumers. However, there are lots of Pro Stock only options and it's quite possible there is a lighter build available to the pros.
