A homer is a homer. I want to see great defensive plays. Or compromise. Take Siri's catch. That's a homer thwarted by a great play Not rocket science guys. Go RAYS!!!!
Fr. I also don’t get how I’m half way through the video and so far there’s been 3 first career home runs all spaced way out yet the “worst” one to them is a first career hit that was a homer. To me first career hit being a homer is better than just a first career homer lmao
Every mlb player has a first career home run. A first career grand slam would be nice to see, especially if it was hit by a rookie. Were there no inside the park home runs?
Great plays, but some of those all star highlights probably shouldn't be in the top 50, definitely many other highlights this year should've made this list.
I just knew it would be on this list, and right when I click on the video! All-Star Ryan McMahon's Walk-Off Grand Slam in the Home Opener. Add Toglia's HR Robbery at The Lou, and Doyle's game-changing leap against the Dodgers, there's been a lot of great memories so far this season. There's been a lot of bad things too, but memories to last a lifetime. Here's to a better 2nd half! Go Rockies💜🖤
I just want to add he's a phenomenal baseball player and what he said after you made that great play was hilarious the Little League belt. And I'm really glad that he's having all star caliber season .
Me too. But I guess it doesn't really fit the definition of a "play". It's a great game, but because of many things coming together. Its not like any of the clips showed a "come from behind win".
I personally think that catch was the most impressive catch I've seen this year and it's not even close... People don't realize how insane making a diving catch on a ball that's behind you actually is...
On June 29th, The MLB tweeted "One of the best plays you'll see all year 😮" to the play that Canning made off the mound over to Schanuel in Angels VS Tigers game.... They didn't even include it in the top 50 of the first half of the year lmao.
Doyle and Mullin's center field catches are hands down the top 2 defensive plays on this list. No doubt in my mind, whoever is putting this compilation together at MLB needs to find a new job
As an Orioles fan when Mullins catch came in at 11 I was ready to start saying he got robbed and should have been further ahead by a mile. Though I do think it could have easily been number 8 (I think they are both very similar catches and IMO Mullins catch is waaaay cooler). But 1 through 7 are definitely better.
Apparently hitting a home run (not even a walk off or game tying) is better lmao. In any sport when they post these videos they add like the same thing 5 times yet leave out actually good plays. Like how is a first career home run 15 spots higher than another first career home run 😭 or both of them being higher than a first career hit being a home run? None should be on here yet the best one is the “worst” lmao
As a Cardinals fan im kinda mad because Michael siani catch against marcell ozuna is better than shohei ohtani home run in the all star game mlb makes shohei ohtani normal home runs like it is his 300th career home run 💀
Wow, I was expecting some defensive plays from the Braves: Arcia? Olson? I guess when I think ‘plays’, I don’t think of milestones, homeruns, etc. LOVED seeing D’arnaud, but still when I think of plays I’m thinking defensively. 🤷🏾♀️ The play Turner made in the ASG, Arcia and Albies have done more than once on harder hits…and they completed the double play with Olson.
They overrate HR robs. Some of em were just sitting under the wall for a few seconds and jumping... very mid. So many more deserving plays especially in the infield and they got shafted in this.
It's sad that the only Yankee on the list is the rookie Ben Rice. Also, where was the outfielder whose name and team escaped me, who caught a fly ball and performed a pirouette?
Outside of anti-nationals bias there is no reason for Lane Thomas’s game saving catch at the wall against the brewers not to be here after seeing all of the other plays
I’ll never understand why home runs are included as top plays. There are literally dozens of them a day all over the league. I get it, some are walk-offs, etc…, but unless you’re down by 3 with 2 out, 2 strikes in the 9th and hit a walk off grand slam, it’s not any more special than the 25 other homers that day (unless it’s your 3rd of the day or you hit it 600 ft).
they really need to stop including milestones in these plays
the people want to see plays, not "oh cool this guy hit his first major league home run"
I agree. However they should’ve shown Rece hinds hitting five home runs in his first five games
A homer is a homer. I want to see great defensive plays. Or compromise. Take Siri's catch. That's a homer thwarted by a great play Not rocket science guys. Go RAYS!!!!

I was genuinely confused how Malloys homer as his 1st career hit was worse than dudes just actual homer. Weird math

Yep. The ASG is an exhibition game and doesn’t count.

stanton's grand slam at the beginning of the year should be here
Joey loperfidos catch was the best on out here the fact that there 10 catches behind it is crazy
Where are the fielding plays like throwing out runners at home? This entire highlight real is just home runs and robbed home runs. Rather boring.
I’m surprised that the Joey loperfido catch isn’t ranked
better.

bro how is shohei hitting a homer in the asg a top 50 play
they glaze him
Yeah they do way too much

Bc he passed the guy for the most homers as a Japanese born player
Shoglaze Othani
O’Neil Cruz hitting two balls 120 IN THE SAME GAME is top 3

It would be if he played for the Dodgers or Yankees

You would never know the Mets are a professional baseball team watching this
as a tigers fan kinda pissed our 5 run comeback and walkoff against the dodgers wasnt on there
bro same. It was so impressive because the energy wasn’t there at Detroit.
Me too. But I guess it doesn't really fit the definition of a "play". It's a great game, but because of many things coming together. Its not like any of the clips showed a "come from behind win".
And I bet you if it was the dodgers coming back it would be here
@@babeldude Well, you got a point.
the mlb doesnt want to taint the image of their sacred dodgers
The fact that Cedric mullins only had one play on this list is criminal.

How bout Cal Raleigh homering from both sides of the plate 2x in 3 games?
17:13 I was able to see that catch by Doyle from the left field bleachers. I went insane
As a Yankees fan, we need Ben Rice as our full-time first baseman and leadoff hitter moving forward.
Ronel Blanco is becoming one of my favorite players in the league
Same, but it's pretty obvious that I love him
He’s the best

Michael Busch hit five consecutive game homers tying the rookie record. Thats pretty amazing.
i thought it was six
Shohei is that type of player that comes around once a century
If a Matt Olson play isn't in this video I will be disappointed.
Jose Siri mossed Randy and didn’t even check on him😂

What about Jarren Duran bringing back a walk off homer? What about the dozen diving catches by Cedanne Rafaela? So much missing here.
