I don’t think I’ve ever experienced such cold, creeping dread in a game before I played the Holy Russian Empire for the first time. I imagine that my first impressions were similar to many others, expecting a relatively normal monarchist campaign, then laughing at Taboritsky for his obsession with the long-dead Tsar’s son. Then things started getting creepy. As my playthrough went on, and the further Taboritsky slipped into madness, the more I was unsettled by the atrocities committed in the name of his nonexistent master. And yet, I was compelled to play on. It was like watching a horror movie: you know something terrible is going to happen, but you’re still intrigued enough to want to see *what* happens. By the time Russia was unified, I was on the edge of my seat, dreading about what would happen next. Taboritsky had slaughtered thousands for the crime of not fitting into his delusional nightmare of a preferable Russian state. He had poisoned the land with gas that literally melts flesh into slurry. And I had just put him in charge of all of Russia. Then, the “Midnight” event came up. Taboritsky, reduced to a gibbering wreck, hallucinates his would-be Tsar suddenly turning into a rotten pile of bones. He finally realizes that his prince, who he’d butchered so many for, has been dead for a long time. His thin wall of denial shatters, and he literally dies from shock. Then it all falls apart. The HRE collapses, and Russia dissolves into perpetual anarchy. Taboritsky’s madness had destroyed a unified Russian state down to the *idea.* And the events that happen in the fallout of his death are just as bad. I mean, the mere idea that society can break down to the point that a military clique of actual SATANISTS can spring up is utterly horrific.

Sometimes the best ways to win wars is spam crappy divisions to overwhelm your opponent, but later in the game going on the regional level (east vs central Siberia, etc.) You'll want to use IFVs and tanks and make spearheads. Make sure to check out the economy tab to try and increase your production base (don't remember what it was called exactly).
Try lowering difficulty and fixing odds in your favor by using "game settings". It's nothing to be ashamed of in TNO if you are playing for the story. Also, after finishing keep playing until all "end-game" events fire. You'll discover whole new levels of "curssd", "based" and "blessed" of Russian warlords

Haven't played Taboritsky yet. But maybe I'll try after this (though i am pretty bad at this game and I am not sure if i will succeed)
Sometimes the best ways to win wars is spam crappy divisions to overwhelm your opponent, but later in the game going on the regional level (east vs central Siberia, etc.) You'll want to use IFVs and tanks and make spearheads. Make sure to check out the economy tab to try and increase your production base (don't remember what it was called exactly).
Also, you get tabby by letting a bunch of coups happen until he comes up
Try lowering difficulty and fixing odds in your favor by using "game settings".
It's nothing to be ashamed of in TNO if you are playing for the story.
Also, after finishing keep playing until all "end-game" events fire. You'll discover whole new levels of "curssd", "based" and "blessed" of Russian warlords
