I had them in middle school, 1994. Those are one of the shoes that made other kids say I was fly. I wish my kids would know that feeling. These kids today are water down with all the releases. And I had to get those Og’s
I had da charcoal and olive OG’s in ‘94 and They are so comfy and so easy to slip on , so had to cop this colorway, and I’m glad I did! great video, thanx
These are my favorite pair of Jordans besides the Bred 11s. Im so happy they didnt sell out, im going thru a hard time rn but its nice to knownthat down the road i wont have to pay too much higher than retail
Sneaker prices aren’t based on popularity. Why would they price these less than jordan 4s when it has newer technology and have always been more expensive or as expensive as the Jordan’s numbered lower than it.
I can remember when the aqua eights came out I'm 40 I sold newspapers to get them but my mom gave me $100 for my birthday they only had the display pair because they thought no one would buy them for 100.00 so I had to order them and wait 2 weeks how was the first kid in Idabel Oklahoma to have the aqua 8's and everybody was like oh my God those shoes are so beautiful in the early 90s like 91 92 there was no other shoe but Charles Barkley Clyde Drexler British Knights look like pandas the LA Gear and that's Jordan's biggest competition in the 90s was the LA Gear Joe Montana's LA Gear was so popular that they even had a scooter
3:28 when I bought my cool grey 9s in 2002, they came WITH THAT CARD! It made me want THOSE more than my CG9s I had purchased. Now, in retrospect, I love the Cool Grey but that CARD was so dope! Great video. Thanks for carrying the torch for these
Me too. Took them straight from Foot Locker to the YMCA. Toes were messed up. Definitely needed to be broken in. You won dunk contests in these is crazy. Probably would have been better off barefoot lol
I coped these because they are OG but, more importantly they are something different from the same old crap we keep getting. You can count the amount of 9's released in the past 3 years on one hand. However if you were to count the 1's, you would be counting for a while. We need more 8, 9, and 10's in OG and new colorways along with some collabs. Pricing also needs to be better because, 200+ for sneakers is getting ridiculous.
The shoe market right now is just over saturated. Plain and simple. Multiple shoes releasing weekly, anywhere between $150-over $200 a pop. Trying to keep up is just too expensive and the closet is running out of space. These days the average sneaker-head is just waiting for special releases or the collabs that call out to them. Everything else can wait for a sale or just get passed on altogether.
I couldn't pass these up myself. Powder Blues are my all-time favorite AJ9 colorway and theres a nostalgia factor for me. As a kid not long after my first ever pair of Js , the OG '93 AJ8 Aquas , my parents weren't having it to buy me these PB9s as well. Though was desperate for them as such a clean colorway and a bunch of older kids in my neighborhood had them. So I only ever had was it the 2010 retro , but the shape and materials on that PB9 just weren't good at all. I was tempted to wait and see if these PB9s go on sale , which they might do , though on SNKRS my size is not sitting atm. But i decided to just grab them , def a great colorway for the Spring season. Im not a big AJ9 fan ; they are a bit heavy and stiff , and not a good shoe to ball in , might as well ball in some Tims. But this colorway had to grab. I am OG over everything myself , getting to the point if its not an OG i have to triple think if i really want them. And i do agree Foamer there is something a bit extra intriguing with some of those OG colorways on the OG models that are non-Bulls (black / white and red) color schemes.
I think the OGs know, I had to cop absolute fire on feet. I been getting compliments mainly from the older crowd, I think the youngsters wanted that 23 as that was their OG.. understandably. Plus $210 was a bit pricy for some, they probably awaiting a discount…
I’m probably in the minority, but I’m glad they had the $210 price tag. If everybody scooped em up at $170, then more times then not, I end up having to pay way more than that $210 on the resell market if I really want em. It also helps out the people that are on the fence, or don’t have the funds right on release day to have a shot. Good look Nike/JB.
I'm very picky on which retros I'll wear vs the ones that I like the look of. The retros that I've tried and had a great fit with are the 1's, the 5's, the 11's and the 12's. 3's and 4's are kinda iffy in that if I wanted to risk having to sacrifice my right pinky toe, I could wear a pair enough to break them in and have no issues.
This is a classic!!! Graduated in 1997. So this was the pair to get on the halls of the school. I got 2 pair. One to wear and 2nd on ice for a few years.
I really like these. Not this colorway, but the Jordan 9 anthracite was my first Jordan retro, so the 9 holds a special spot in my heart. Unfortunately, the funds weren't there to cop. I was able to try a pair on and it felt a little snug, so later down the line when I can cop I'd probably have to go up a full size as I'm a 12 and most don't sell a 12.5😅.
this release helped me prove that the youtubers are the ones that create the hype on sneakers. The only Jordans i can get on release day are the ones that the youtubers don't talk about too much, for every time youtubers are talking too much about a specific release that means is a sneaker i won't be able to buy for retail
I'm saving up for more important milestones in my life right now but if i had the extra cheddar cheese these would've been an instant cop for me with it being an OG and a UNC/powder blue color way and they're still sitting in my size too 😩
Shoes are too expensive to pick up every single pair.... These things were $150 14 years ago.... This means the next time this shoe releases it will be over $300.00. That is not inflation, that is greed.
Had them in High school 1994 when they came out in the old days. Although I was the only one with them back then they were very very hard too keep clean but not worth the price today. If I didn’t have them back then it would have been a must cop..
I think 7 is the most underrated. Super comfortable and some fire colorways. All the OG releases are awesome plus there’s some heat like the flints etc. Nike continues to make us wait for raptors, bordeoux, and hares.
doubled up live in eastern nc and super unc fan, if keep sitting gonna grab 2 more pair lol these may not come out for another 14 years. I was a freshman in high school and my peeps said no to those had got a pair of js like month earlier.
Foamer you one of my fave youtubers of all time but yeah about the price for kicks, it's definitely subjective. What may not be worth 215 for you may not be the same for others. When I got these kicks, they were worth every single dollar. The way they resembled the OG's so closely, and the feeling slippin' them on for the first time? Worth every penny.
@@evensbaptiste6415 I'd argue they are. A lot of pairs are still sitting in stores as well as online. 9's aren't a popular silhouette and most retros in the past 2 years have been at/below retail on the secondary market.
I had these when they released back in like 2010-11. I honestly didn't like them. The 9 is an iffy pair. The UNC color made no difference, and the paint was peeling.
Buckets rated 8, wow . Just bought them first j9 I've ever bought . Thanks for this video, comfortable as if angels cuffing my heel. Highly recommend it .
The 9 is an underrated Jordan for sure 🔥 Nike’s powder blue has always been a little too candy-colored for me, though. Plus I’ve already got the OG Jumpman Team 1 in the UNC and the 2 Low UNC’s in my rotation right now, I don’t *need* another white/blue Jordan at the moment. But I’d definitely like to see them drop more 9’s.
Classic and one of my favorite silhouettes but they never been comfortable or a top performing ball shoe even in 1994. But they always looked good with jeans and for style, which I guess now they’re really a life style shoe.
I believe the Jordan 9 was designed more so for his baseball stint. It’s more of a cleat silhouette than a basketball shoe. I may be wrong but I think that’s what the history about that Jordan is.
They felt light on feet to me and super comfortable idk what these guys are talking about lol. 11s feel heavier and stiffer than 9s to me. That be said I returned the 9s yesterday to footlocker but for different reasons.
This was the first Jordan I ever owned when I was in 7th grade. I doubled up on these out of sheer nostalgia…super disappointed in this stiff leather. The OG’s has that soft spongy leather on the upper panel. The mudguard leather was slightly stiff. Wish they could have mimicked that feel
I copped for sure. They were my first pair Jordan's that I bought with my own money back in High School. 9/10 for sure!!! The OG Olives were my jam. I always to own a pair!!
I had them in middle school, 1994. Those are one of the shoes that made other kids say I was fly. I wish my kids would know that feeling. These kids today are water down with all the releases. And I had to get those Og’s
I feel you! I had the OGs in 10th grade! My first pair of Js Homie.
It’s a fire shoe. But new generation didn’t see Jordan play. It’s not going to hit the same for them.
Same here I bought it because this was my first Jordan shoe. 1994
I had da charcoal and olive OG’s in ‘94 and They are so comfy and so easy to slip on , so had to cop this colorway, and I’m glad I did!

I passed on these for 3 reasons. 1 these should be $180-190. 2 the diamond turfs come out soon. 3 Military Blue 4s 🤷🏾♂️
Sneaker prices aren’t based on popularity. Why would they price these less than jordan 4s when it has newer technology and have always been more expensive or as expensive as the Jordan’s numbered lower than it.
@sebastienc.2257 I didn't base the price off of popularity 😂😂the shoe is cheap looking down to the blue paint.

These are 🔥! I got my niece a pair back in'94 for school. She was 6. She is 36 now. I will try and cop a pair on payday. A must-have for me.
Clean pair. No regrets 👌🏾
OG Powder Blue 9s were my first ever pair of Js. I also won my high school dunk contest in them...lol
That’s a dope core memory.

And can't ever cop my sz on Snkrs. Been trying since the playoff 13s dropped
I think of the 9's as late fall winter shoe.
I'd take the 9s over the 2s, 7, 10. These are clean but the Jordan 9 Space Jams are 👌
Depends man... some 7s and 10s are hard... 9s over 2s tho, I'll give you that.
Got ‘em… finally 😅

I'm glad I got my pair. These were meant for the older sneaker enthusiasts who don't care about hype. It's all about the OG's!
Very pleased with these .. bought them on release day at retail with no regrets ...
These are legit. Don’t let the hype beast downplay these for ya. 1993 baby. Junior high.
Right these in my top 10 drops of the year easy
10’s are most underrated imo
Wait until it goes on SALE
Still got my OG pair will definitely be grabbing these
“.2’d you”. 🤣 favorite line of the vid. Followed by Foamer’s face when Buckets asked if it was “outta 10?”.
You guys are awesome!
I still have the 2010 crisp!
The 1994 weren't heavy at all. Love this shoe but the price it's ridiculous! If i ever find them on sale I'll cop.
Love the baby blue colorway.
Is that a poodle mix? Cute dog man. The 9s are fire but we need space jam 9s playoff 9s
Jordan 9’s look good but are super uncomfortable
Saw them sitting yesterday, they were calling my name so I had to cop 😂

Another classic video from you guys! In my Buckets voice…”In June” 🤣🤣🤣
Why they take the 23 off the back
Cuz OG don't have that 23 at the back my guy.
OG release did not have it.. trying to make it look the same
The OG in 93 did not have 23 on the back of the Powder Blue colorway. They added it on the retros.
Do your history
I felt like this was a comedy skit on SNL😂😂😂😂😂. Great job on your opinion on the shoe.
Got a pair and bout to re-up👌🏾
Respect to all the cats who dig Jordan 9's. That being said, I have never owned a pair of 9's and I don't plan to any time soon.
People gonna regret sleeping
Copped em, love em....now for some 10s please!! 🗣🗣🗣
9's are super underappreciated. I especially love this colorway because of the black laces and tongue. Looks cleeeeeeannnn.
what instrumental track is that? dope beat

No 23 in the back under the basketball. That way was a hard no for me. Idk why they left that out but it was wack.
lol exactly.. it bothers me looking at these without the 23
9s are one of my favorite, but this colorway is a bit boring.
Kept telling TH-cam creators these will sit and people didn’t want them at all.
Interesting seeing your pair,i watched forsytv review and the mudguard panel on the left of every pair sits way lower, this is a deal breaker for me

Picking these up this week , but I need them anthracite 9s to drop this year too
It’s all good bc I’ll take every OG they drop yall can keep the hype
