You're thanking the wrong person. I believe the guy who did most of the work on designing was name Will Aitken. And the "fabulous sounds" that Holdsworth used came from an Oberheim Matrix-12, not the Synthaxe itself.
It's refreshing to see these old school presenters from the pre-TH-cam days who didn't feel the need to use grandiose gestures and ridiculously over the top modulation, but rather just present something worth watching and listening to.

I saw Allan Holdsworth demo this live at Marshall Music on Redondo Beach CA (now closed) when I was a teenager in the 80's. Awesome inspiration. I saw Allan finger tap before I knew who EVH was.
They cost like £10000. In the eighties! I've no idea how much that would be today adjusted for inflation. They were too expensive and complicated to go mainstream. They only made about a hundred of them so one most likely won't get one today.
