I want to learn how to make a yoyo project. cant wait to learn, it absolutely gorgeous, a quilt would look great because i live in house that was built in late 1800s , i love antiques

I know that women during the Great Depression used to make little area rugs and sell them - although I can’t imagine putting them on the floor and walking on it 😱. I tried making some yo-yo’s one time, but I got to nervous and it didn’t work out. I’m a hand sewer anyway. It seems like a good project for me. I’d love to try again.

Yes we all start out with the "making a pillow" idea with something new we are gonna try to do. I wanted to learn how to do English paper piecing (EPP they call it, its totally done my hand using hexagon shaped papers and fabric-no sewing machine) I started out with the idea of making an EPP pillow. Once I got started and since I bought the hexagon papers in a package of 200, the hexagons grew and grew and I ordered more packages and found more fabrics scraps -cause I was committed to NOT buy fabric but to use my scraps. Well she's a bit larger than a queen size and I finally stopped and said enough. I hope to eventually hand quilt it out because it would be a shame to quilt it on a machine after all the hand work I've put into it. I call it my "SCRAPS OF WONDER quilt", cause I wonder if I'll ever finish quilting it (well can't finish quilting till I at least start it, Right? ). My only child, a daughter, will probably let her dog sleep on it on the porch after I'm dead! LOL! I don't care, I won't know it anyway. It will be on the porch on the curb along with my Longaberger baskets and pottery. So enjoy your videos, I watch and sit here and laugh out loud at you and my family looks at me like I nuts!

I just loved the second yo-yo quilt it reminds me of water lilies on a pond! That never would’ve occurred to me to do but it is gorgeous! I have made the yo-yos on her they were all amor usual size. I just never got them sewn together. Considering that I have three cats who have no respect for quilts I don’t think that I will be putting them together and putting them anywhere that my babies could get to them. Backing them with a sheet seems like a good idea. Thank you for sharing them with us.❤
