I was 10 when it came out. Loved that show - it was funnier than The Brandy Bunch. The banter between Danny, Keith and Ruben even made my Dad laugh (and that's why I got to watch it).

I was fortunate enough to meet David when he made an appearance at Tower Records in Philadelphia in 1993, and found him to be a genuinely warm, extremely nice guy. With maturity, I was able to spend a little time talking to him as he signed a few items (The Partridge Family Album, the Christmas card from the Christmas album, and the backs of a couple photos I took of him when he appeared at the Steel Pier in August, 1971). He did this without pretense or ego, and we even laughed at the fact that I could actually stand there having a conversation with him, when 20 some years before, they would have had to pick me up off the floor because, as a 14 year old, I would have fainted. I was so sad, when, the last time I saw him at a free concert he gave at a Bensalem, PA park, as a part of their Summer concert series in 2009, he seemed distracted, under the influence of alcohol, forgetful of some of his most famous songs' lyrics, agitated with the lighting, and made a fact of letting fans know that he didn't sign memorabilia any longer. It was then that I, and others, could tell that there was something serious going on in his life. The ensuing years of drunken driving arrests and his continued downward spiral made me extremely sad for him (and for me, and all the other girls whose lives he made so happy back when we were all still so young). I will admit to having a good cry at the news of his passing, as I'm sure tens of thousands of "young girls'" hearts all over the world broke, with the acknowledgement of our own mortality and the realization that with his passing, a part of us (our youth, the one he was so very much a part of), passed along with him. I hope he realized how special he was for making so many of us so very happy, so many many years ago.
