My Home town Raupunga..Worked at the Mohaka Forestry at 15 yrs old ,Cyril Gotty and Bill Phjllips were the Charge hands back than..Keith McGoughlin was top man at that time i was there..Left Raupunga at 18 yrs old..Couldn;t beat those days..
Movies on Wednesdays and Saturdays,sometimes they held a dance up the Hall after the movies on Saturdaynight or at the Mohaka Round Hall..There were 2 shops,1 had the Post Office and a petrol pump..Always caught the Railcar to Wairoa..Nothing like that happening up there anymore..We always swan in the river just down from Victor Waihape..Eeling -Fishing-Hunting was always good back than..Yep those were the days..

Kahwai sweeter when small: At 6 to 9 inches they have no blood flesh. Scaled and gut out remove the top fin with the knife a little into the flesh. The same with pectoral fins cut away the gut flap. Head and tail off and they cook up great. Do not fillet, but cook up whole

I think eventually Maori people will take over the land in New Zealand. They already talking about changing the name from New Zealand to Aotearoa and than changing the name of Wellington and Christchurch as well. Beside that Maori have more children than white New Zealanders , so it's a matter of time rather than if. Sooner or later will be big problems in New Zealand. I can see it coming.
@bruceownsu yeah you might be right. When we've been to New Zealand in January 2020 , Chinese were everywhere. I thought I was in China not New Zealand. Such a shame you've been in invaded. My logic regarding Maori was the fact that Maori have more children than Europeans .

When the lure has a blade attached to a clevis to the wire beads etc and it spins (it is a spinner ) if not, it is ( a spoon or a wobbler ). Single hooks have better hooks ups and easier to release if your that way inclined for those short ones. I believe that the size limit is a personal choice & leaving more that just some for the next generations is a better option. This is my opinion and i am sticking to it.
i wish i could go there and do horse riding , fishing . i wonder is Piri Tiki Tour is for visitors and has cabins to rent,
