    good review of the Sinai map!
    I think focusing on the historical battles that occurred in this region is the way to go. Most other maps force players into fictional scenarios, but Sinai will have that historical basis to ground mission makers.
    75% of the mission making process is coming up with the plan and scenario, when you can copy a mission from the old professionals it makes it way easier and more fun.

    Amazing review, Spudknocker. You really added a value to the review by starting with history briefing leading to the other aspect of the map. Those mountains and deep valleys do look very tempting to fly through! This top quality map map will be a hot cake just as Syria was when it was released 1.5 years ago. Syria is at the moment my favourite mnap due to its variety and ancient ruins, castles and monuments on the hills, palaces and skyscrapers. The Sinai map may become next favorite.

    Great job, great review. The Sinai map is looking immense and will become the new standard I believe taking over for Syria. I would have loved to have a 1970's period map, but I believe the decision to go with a modern map gives it much more of a varied use with every module in DCS. I am really curious to see what OnReTech do next.

    The best review so far 👌
    Just to let you know, in Egypt we also have F-16, Mirage 2000, Rafael, AH-64, Mig-35 and soon F-15 in replacement for the Su-35.
    Also S300 my, Patriot and Tor 2/3, Buk-2/3
    To the East is Palestine

      F-15 replacement for Su-35? What?

    • @WarWithIn
      @WarWithIn ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Swaraj Kar Egypt bought the Su-35 from Russia, but under pressure from the USA because of the Ukrainian war, the US offered the F-15 (which was banned for export for Egypt for sometime) if we will let go of the Su-35.
      We did get the Su-35 for few month, was tested against the F-16 & Rafael.
      The problem Egypt has with the US based weapons, They don't export the Aim-120s and certain AG weapons, and we don't have the full code of the fighter to upgrade with European or domestic weapons, like for example Turkish fighters have, also spare parts.
      Also we don't know the weapon package that will come with the F-15 or the model 🤔, and if it will be downgraded.
      I don't think it's the right move, I would rather have a better deal with the French, and get the open architecture and raise the fleet ro at least 120 single and 24 2 seater, and 3 tankers from airbus.

      @WarWithIn And would any of that improve your life or that of others? How about spending the money on social welfare, public infrastructure etc etc? I like my wars to be digital-only, with no real-life releases.

      @wawawuu1514 Also, the dictator has an inferiority complex, 1.62 meters tall, with small pee pee, and his mother didn't love him. What complexes me me, we have a hight limit for any Egyptian military officer, shall not be less than 1.75 to enter, how did this POS enter the military.

    I dearly wish there was a way to merge paid maps together. Having PG, Sinai, and Syria maps should allow us to fly across an absolute swathe of the Middle East.
    We can only hope for this one day I guess.

    • @bartbroekhuizen5617
      @bartbroekhuizen5617 ปีที่แล้ว

      Same here, not able to merge seems to me a technical limitation which is SOLVABLE! I find it to easy to say its not possible and then we should deal with it. Its 2023, MFS 2020 has streaming tech which is able to create stunning scenery's. Its not a matter of how can we do this, its a matter of when can we expect this is going to be a priority. I agree, MFS 2020 has much more developers and stunning tech, but i find it hard to swallow to buy every map of the world with inconsistent quality spread over multiple companies who are making these maps. Heck i would rather pay for a subscription model which allows you to fly around the world without bothering buying maps. It generates monthly steady income for devs and upkeep to maintain streaming tech or other things they might need to make this possible.

    • @ghostdog688
      @ghostdog688 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bartbroekhuizen5617 I wouldn’t want a subscription model for maps - because that penalises the people who have already invested in the many maps currently out there, and also because I don’t like the idea of a subscription service for my flight sims.
      However, a steadily increasing discount for people who own more maps, or a system where “completing a region” nets a larger discount would be a good compromise.
      Perhaps even a server licence where a server owner can provide the map up to maximum of “x” players on the server. This works rather well for LOTATC where the player can buy a key for themselves or a server can choose to buy keys that allow the public to “borrow” for the duration of their time on that server only.

    • @wawawuu1514
      @wawawuu1514 9 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Considering ED is entertaining the idea of modelling the entire globe, it shouldn't be be impossible from a technical limitations standpoint.

    This is the best review of the map yet, as it not only showcases the visuals, but the historic importance of it! Thanks a lot! One thing I'm worried about: from every person reviewing the map, it seems just 1EV too bright. Or lacking contrast on the shadowy areas, not sure... but it seems like an overexposed terrain compared to all other maps. Do you have that feeling as well? This is especially true when flying at non-magic-hour daytimes.
