The Terminator lied to Kenta to try to get him to activate the EMP. We clearly see the Terminator was sent back in 2022, however the fighting is still ongoing into 2040 when Malcom goes back in time to 1983, and the Terminator that wipes out the resistance bases in 2022 shows there is no alliance between the humans and the machines when the Terminator was sent back.
what if this actually connects to animatrix? what if this was of the same timeline like a crossover? because Kokoro is so similar to the interpreter/machine god, like what if skynet was originally born from the machine uprising in animatrix and thus decided rather than wage a long fruitless war it would simply create a machine, send it back in time to cyberdyne and end humanity before machinekind is enslaved, turn the table at an earlier time rather than wait for the chosen one to ruin things, i mean think about it both franchises have the same concept of a chosen one or like a pivotal person, what if the matrix and the terminator are all part of the same endless loop of humanity and machines conflict for existing over the other?
I binged this series. And honestly I loved it. I'm a sucker for these types of stories. The terminator felt menacing for the first time in god knows how long and it was refreshing to see

Yea but the small minded ideas of the films take place through the whole anime. My favorite part was where they explained that time travel works the same way it does in the MCU. So all the sequels after t2 are just alternate timelines
@@paperstacksfilmsThey would have to be. In T3 the Terminator claims Sarah died of cancer to John, but in a later film John is killed as a kid and Sarah is alive. In the Sarah Connor Chronicles, you even have people that know someone from the future, only to find out they are from different timelines.
When Misaki is at the Toy Store getting koneko, there was 2 kids fighting with Toy Guns, exactly the same way the kids in Terminator 2 when John, Sarah and Arnold are in their way to Mexico.

TSCC hit the multiple timelines thing but since most people never saw the show it got missed. This thankfully brings it full front and center again (and a better time travel explanation than Endgame)
Malcolm's body is laid out on the table and Kokoro has the head of a T800, Malcolm is definitely coming back in the next season from the looks of it as a cyborg. Malcolm gave Kokoro life and now she gets to repay the favour.
I really, genuinely hope they don't do that. Film and tv is full of fake out deaths and resurrections, when a character actually does die it lends more weight to the drama.
@@olivergray3808 There is always possibility of young Malcolm appearing depending do they stay in early 2000 or do they go where the children are adults and child Malcolm would be then alive.
This show just proves that nothing tops good writing. Production value, a big budget, big name actors and actresses... they're all nice to have. But writing above all else. I enjoyed this 8-part anime miniseries more than all the Terminator films that have come out since T2.
Now if someone can combine this type of good writing and big Hollywood budget and make a live action movie trilogy on the original future war and close out Kyle/ John/ Sarah’s story- that works for me, but I think Sarah’s story ended with Dark Fate, or even T2.
@@JasonMorgant7 totally agree with you but that's the thing most of the time even in foreign settings they have to show something related to Japanese or a prominent character of Japanese origin like Mikasa in Aot & Dr Tenma in Monster
A HUGE MISSED Easter-egg is when the Terminator pulls-up to the Resistance base and starts shooting everyone. If you LISTEN CAREFULLY when the Terminator first starts shooting it’s duel-wielding snipers - the sniper’s gunshots PLAY THE TERMINATOR THEME SONG! Also, even before it starts shooting. The Resistance shoot the Terminator first. And you can also hear the Terminator Theme Song be played by the gun shots as well right before it shoots back!!! You really gotta listen in and pay attention 😂 I had to rewind when I heard the gunfire because I thought I was trippin at first. Was a really cool little Easter-egg 🔥👌
One thing I figured out is that "the prophet" who sent Malcom's mother back in time is Malcom's wife... Which is why she knew that Eiko was his mother. She died in this timeline but she survived in the previous timeline. Her face is discolored indicating that she probably got scarred in the bus accident, but survived it. Malcom described her death as "random" meaning it was probably a toss of a coin as to whether she would survive or not. She was very familiar with both time travel and Malcom's philosophy. She also disguised her knowledge of the future as "prophecy" the same way that Malcom disguised his knowledge of the future as a recurring "prophetic dream". It might be the case that her dying is what changed this timeline, because without her death Malcom's kids might not have been as dependent on Misaki and formed a bond with a cyborg which could have impacted Kent's decision at the end. It might have also led to Malcom needing to sacrifice himself which changed Kokoro's mind.
The old woman is Eiko. It's very heavily implied. But she's also Lee's mother. T:Z doesn't use the Bootstrap Paradox, General Relativity time travel model, it uses the Hollywood timelines model. In one timeline she doesn't travel back, meets a dude and has a kid in 2025. Lee is from that timeline. In another she time travels in 2022, fails at her objective completely leading to Skynet subjugating/allying with Kokoro, and lives out her life in the past, growing old and meeting her younger self and sending her back. Eiko is from that timeline. In yet another timeline, Kokoro goes online, goes omnicidal against humanity AND Skynet both. Humanity and Skynet are forced to join forces to survive. The T800 is from that timeline. The big twist is that the show has actors from three separate timelines running around.
@TheKain202 you might be right. But on the other hand there's a lot of contradictions. Hence why I'm content to say it was Sarah Conner. Makes my head hurt a lot less.
@@TheKain202 I thought of that initially, but the age does not work out for Eiko as it does for Malcom's wife. She would have only been in like her 40s at most 50s at that point. Also she would have recognized herself, especially after only 20 years or less when she would have met the profit and started doing missions. The only way it makes sense is if it was Malcom's wife who she wouldn't have recognized and was old enough to become an old woman in her time. It also explains everything else about the prophet.
My take is that the Prophet is Reiko, Malcom's daughter. The age doesn't match up but it would make sense if she traveled back from a farther time in the future.
Honestly, I think animation ( partially cause it means we can get some good gore ) is a good place to take this series going forward. They tried making new trilogies and it didn’t work out so making short seasonal shows/standalone stories would be good to keep the terminator train going. That and games, resistance was a blessing for this franchise Personally, I enjoyed this. Felt like a return to basics with a single terminator being a threat ( mostly, him getting pushed around and missing all his shots was kinda wack ) and I liked all the twist and turns here. Also liked how this ties with the rest of the universe by Malcom basically admitting that the timeline is all kinda of fucked at this pointb
Other easter eggs: Eiko after pushing the Terminator down the elevator shaft says, "He'll be back." The dog barking to let the humans know that a Terminator is close by and then attacked the human resistance is also a callback to Kyle Reese's life and nightmares. The assembly line of T-800s is a callback to the T2 teaser trailer The 1nn0 line of robots in the underground mall for storage and Kenta doing work on one of them is also a reference to the T1 robots in storage and the TX does reprogramming on them. Also, and this maybe a little too much, but Misaki losing her arm kind of reminds me of when the T-800 in T2 also looses his arm. Though I must say, that was a pretty cool reveal about Misaki.
I love the theory that the first Terminator we see is the third iteration of the story. 1st round: time happens like normal, John's Connor's dad is a regular guy, man creates machine, machine battles man, but when the machines are about to lose, they send back a terminator. Reese is sent back as just a friend of John's, not his dad. 2nd round: now, Skynet is created off the back of the terminator arm and likely speeds up Judgement Day compared to the original timeline. John is also different as Reese is now his dad and Sarah knows to train him. 3rd movie: 1984's The Terminator
Eiko that we follow is not the same Eiko that was mother to Malcolm. It is pretty clear and the definition got streamlined, how time travel works. Everytime someone goes back, they make a new alternate reality for themselves, some things may be the same but some will not, like Eiko that happens to exist in several time lines. In one timeline Eiko and others only had Skynet to fight in another timeline they had Skynet and Kokoro to fight. So basically T:Zero makes every Terminator movie cannon, even if the producers, creators would want to dismiss them, or try to reboot the franchise with another Genisys. Even both endings to T2: Judgement Day are cannon. Because they are all different possible outcomes in their own timelines.
There are a lot of questions for season 2... but we know that this future is different from the potential futures that are shown to us, even the future where humanity ally with Skynet against Kokoro, as the terminator said at the end. It is interesting how this show made me buy into the different timelines that Genesis tried and even dark fate too. one of the most interesting things about this is that the war against skynet in the lee timeline is going on for so long that it is basically a timewar where skynet continues to send terminators and the resistance continue to send people against it. The concept of the profet a John Connor figure is known in the Reika timeline as just an event, maybe in her timline kokoro didn't merge and ally with skynet, the destruction in her future is line nukes so maybe in her future kokoro didn't stop the bombs from falling... is interesting, i wonder the theories that will come from this show.
Since Kokoro chose to become a "good AI" in this iterations, I think its gonna be Future Japan vs Skynet war. Would make a good future war movie on its own, which is something I hope we get soon, like Terminator Salvation, but more war.
Yes I was just having this conversation with someone after binging the series. It's revealed that different timelines seem to be conflicting with each other no matter the outcome. Such a cool concept
@@kassaken6521 I think Japan Will be the main human haven for the resistance, not just Japan, it's gonna be interesting to see Kokoro's PR in action after her initial campaign opening xD Hopefully we'll see some open warfare, i guess Kokoro will have a head start in developing her droid army before Skynet, she HAS a T-800 at her disposal and it seems like this Japan was advanced in the robotics department, suggesting a big infrastructure for their construction
@xxvaltielxx1789 Now that you mention it, she was looking at the T-800 head, probably will develop a similar system with even more advance human like robots like Misaki.
For those that binged this series, did you notice it came out a day before the in world anniversary of the Judgement Day? It came on the 29th of August where i live, 30th being the anniversary
Exactly! I’ve been saying the same sht and it’s really strange that you have some haters here and there calling it “woke garbage” ! Lmao I’m not sure we watched the same series then
Sarah Connor Chronicles started using the alternate time-lines first with them realising that making changes to the timeline means their future is different so someone else can be sent back from the new timeline with different agendas only for them to make more changes but sending people back to the same point in time before any changes are made means there are multiple time travellers from different futures who want to make changes or stop changes and none of their futures exist any longer. So they're turning the timeline into swiss cheese.
That's the whole point. All started when Skynet 2.0 when the original Skynet got shut-down in 2029 in the OG timeline, it built hundreds of TDEs & started messing with reality to the point we cannot comprehend which reality one person came from.
The only thing I didn't like was how obvious the plot armors were. There were so many times the terminator would get a hold of a character, and the character would just shrug off it.
@@MichaelLee-ny8kn or have you considered its not just for you? The first two terminators were T-800’s model 101 the third was an T-850 model 101. The model 101 refers to the appearance. A model 101 looks like Arnie. The terminator in this series is a T-800 with an unknown model number.
I came here to say this haha. But I looked at the comments before doing so! Yeah this is what I've always understood this to mean. The endoskeleton is a T800, the "Arnold" Infiltrator appearance is Cyberdyne Systems Model 101 (also said by Kyle in T1).
2:13 Isn't it that the future Eiko lived in still happened and everyone died, but she went to the past that became her new present/future? She left that timeline and created a new one so it still mattered that everyone died.
Yeah, it does. But she can't do anything about it. She's a woman out of time. Best to make with what you have. Keep in mind that there's several timelines where her friends aren't dead by the way, like the timeline where she gave birth. Her friend is alive.
Hope this gets a s2 I didn’t expect all the twists and turns within it . The Terminator felt imposing again it was dark gory violent had its timeline mumbo jumbo wit Kokoro and Malcolm thing wit misaki . Wit a s2 see what that terminator meant by Malcolm son saying he was the one who was sent there . A complaint I see from some people not me is the believability of terminator zero like a terminator holding a mini gun and missing or eiko wall running on a wall etc. well people it’s anime it’s animation you can do that 😂duh if they made Sarah Conner in a animated way they would do that same plot armor stuff to keep the story going. Overall it was great show I hope the show is in the top 10 for weeks . I hope it’s like cyberpunk edgerunners and it finds its footing . S2 they can travel to a different timeline , Maybe we can see Eiko older and her spoilers maybe kokoro will make a Terminator army of their own idk 🤷🏿♂️ .
Fun fact: because this is animated, they wanted to be able to show more of the future, which they weren't really able to do much in the 1st movie due to budget and technology constraints. As we saw in Terminator 4: Christian Bale Yells At People, Skynet had been harvesting people to study. In order to more visually separate the 2 time periods, the future was given a darker blueish hue. Hence the original name: Blue Harvest, which was the production title of Star Wars. What, wrong channel?
The two boys from episode one in the toy store were similar to two kids in T2 shooting at each other with toy guns. The photographer in one of the episodes is a loose call back to the photographer in T1 and T2 and Dark Fate possibly. There were quite a few nods and references that made me smile.
This is the best terminator story I’ve seen in a long time, perhaps ever. Super epic storytelling, made me cry sometimes, goes deep where no terminator has gone before
Really appreciate you making these breakdowns of shows that are cult classics but not necessarily watched by everyone. Watching each lovingly made video makes me feel part of a community. This one was fantastic and answered every back-of-the-mind niggling question I had while watching the series. Thank you!
0:17 I wasn't even aware that there was an anime for Terminator coming out in the first place so that's pretty dope I really want them to reboot the Sarah Connor Chronicles or maybe even bring as many of the actors as they can back for a revival cuz that was probably the best terminator franchise has gotten since the second movie
At this point, I'm convinced they're adding philosophy to the concept of time travel. The first Terminator ends with the picture of Sarah that John gave to Kyle. In other words, it had already happened like that. The 2nd movie tried to say that no, actually, its not set like that. The third movie tried to say, no actually, it will, you'll just create an alternate universe. The 4th film tried to tie into all of them and say "No, it was always like this, but we still have to make it so" The 5th movie tried say "There's actually a source to all of this, but lets start another universe also!" The 6th movie tried to "I am the alternate universe" This Anime somehow does all of that. The loops aren't as satisfying, like the first movie is pretty tight with loop logic, Kyle is sent back because hes Johns father, Skynet had to try to kill Sarah cause the first Terminator is where it was created from. I love the followed this here with Aiko and Malcolm,, but when i think about it, they come from two different universes. The only thing in Malcolms original timeline that happened in the past linking him to Aikos timeline was Aiko herself. He created Misaki to fight Skynet, Kokoro was not a threat, this must mean that Kokoro did not exist in his past. But Kokoro existed in Aikos past and Aiko is Malcolms mother. So there is a break in the continuity there, it could be explained in future seasons, but with whats shown theres a big hole about how Malcolm comes from a timeline with no Kokoro, but being the son of Aiko who always exists in a timeline where Aiko was a threat. It would go like this - Aiko born, Skynet and Kokoro exist - 2022 Aiko travels back to 1997, meets Malcolm, learns she will be his mother after failling to stop judgement day. Malcolm dies - 2025 Malcolm is born - 2044 Malcolm creates Misaki. Travels back to 1983 - 1997 Creates Kokoro. Meets Aiko. Dies. I'm a huge Terminator fan. I like Genysis for Gods sake. I loved the call backs to the first 2 movies, i loved the style, i liked the philosophy. Didn't like the characters. Kenta is just a shit. I get it, he's acting out cause his father isn't around. Didn't like how Malcolm treats Misaki when watching the kids. And i dont like the unclosed loop. Apart from T2, the others have been trying to do what the first movie did and failing in my opinion. Just my thoughts
Kenta pissed me off. Like.. why would he ever listen to a terminator that killed his dad. And also the part where Malcom wouldn’t open the door for kenta but opens it up anyway which is stupid when he could of done that at the start.
Great review. I LOVED THE SERIES!!! Action, well written, it felt like Terminator!!! It's incredible just how interesting this universe can be when it's done right (with care and respect to the original two films). I really hope we get a season 2!
Watched it last weekend, and loved it. Aside from the very trope-y surviving because of plot armor, it was flawless. It definitely deserves a second season.
This show was epic, it felt like a real Terminator movie and it was perfectly fitted for anime. The story twists and alternate realities were so well made and all the surprises throughout the show were amazing! I enjoyed it so much
This show has many common themes with Ghost in the Shell and Pluto by Naoki Urasawa, 2 of my favorite dystopian future anime. Every episode flew by like it was nothing and it was extremely easy to binge. Hoping for a possible season 2 or sequel.
Man I couldn't believe it....a real GOOD TERMINATOR STORY in 2024, miracles happen.....but joking aside man this was a rush of a good show and took back the series to family themes, thought provoking ideas about machines, humanity and emotions and if machines could emote as humans does, there is so much to explore in this show and I absolutely love it.
Aside from some plot armor moments, and probably the most amount of plot twists I've ever seen, this series just rocked!!! I really enjoyed the whole philosophical debate about humanity. Whoever wrote this was pretty clever.
A truly fantastic series! I'm hoping for a season 2... 🙏🙏🙏 What if Skynet are constantly sending Terminators back in time, knowing they'll be sent to a new timeline, to ensure that they control Earth in all possible timelines. Surely a machines logic would be to control any and all timelines concurrently 🤔
One Correction. @02:12 you said going back in time meant the future she left no longer exists. That is incorrect. That future exists, but because she went back in time, she is now on a DIFFERENT TIMELINE from the one she left. So all those people she hoped to save, will have to live or die according to whatever is happening there, and there is nothing she can do to affect or change that.
I'm watching this video minutes after binging this show for the first time, gives me huge cyberpunk edgerunners vibes. Amazing story that tugs on the heart strings a bit, super deep lore connections. Phenomenal visuals and soundtrack. Like many others I felt the Terminator franchise was dead after so many bombs but this series was absolute cinema. The deep philosophical questions about humanity will really make you think. So many plot twists and times had me guessing what the hell they were gonna do. This really deserves a season 2
Finished it in one day, and boy was it good. The animation in the last 2 episodes felt alr, I didn't like how the terminator felt a bit too cgi(even though Koroko had been the whole time, but it makes her feel sentient). I liked how they tried to explain time travel instead of letting the viewers decipher it.
So Kokoro said she was able to stop Skynet but it was still able to launch a nuclear attack? And then at the end, she still lets Skynet launch another attack? Can someone explain this?
She stopped the first attack. The second attack is not explained. It’s likely Skynet is just as powerful as Kokoro, so she can’t just stop things with the power of a switch. The difference here is that Kokoro poses a better threat and challenge to Skynet. That was Michael plan from the start, to build a machine as powerful against them
Still watching the video, but after he says each time the timeline is changed, before that I noticed the “shadow outline” color in the animations ranging different colors like purple, orange, green , red, etc, I think that’s a “marker for every time their alpha timeline is changed
It is very difficult for you to penetrate the T-800, but if you rely on a large number of ENOs with slightly lower performance and lighter weight, just think of the ENOs as another type of hydraulic press. Besides, the T-800 used to protect the boy must guard the door. , so even if the metal itself does not deform, the T-800's more fragile joints will not be able to withstand such a push. In fact, when the door was breached, the most fragile fingers of the T-800's arm were broken.
For a good while, thought Eiko was a terminator/robot like Misaki. But when the Timothy Olyphant's character shot Eiko and their was blood but no robot metall undershowing, I was like "Oh snap, she actually human." 😅
This is the best thing to come from Terminator since the first 2 and I actually loved dark fate 😅 A couple of films of this story would have been amazing.
I don't like anime but gave this a shot due to the familiar franchise. It was better and considerably deeper than I had expected. So much better than anything after T2, and probably even a little stronger storywise, the number of episodes aside.
The ending also is a neat unintentional homage to the SNES version of Robocop vs. Terminator's ending where Robocop is holding up a Terminator's skull.
Not only is it better than those movies, it also makes sense of them as to why they are so different. Each Terminator movie post T2 is a different iteration of the time War. The original time system used to be a paradox/loop, but now it's alternate universes/ timeline iterations.
@@kassaken6521 That's the stupidest idea possible :D If every time travel creates a new, alternate universe, there is no point of sending anyone back in time. Why? Because what makes Skynet A care what will happen with Skynet B or Skynet C? Skynet A will lose anyway. The original idea was about time paradoxes. They could go with a time repeating itself and rewriting itself with every time travel. But alternate universes? "Pff, alright Skynet. Go on, send a T-800 to 1984 and kill Sarah Connor. She is not a mother of our leader, so who cares."
This adaptation of anime for the Terminator IP is the most faithful I've seen. The way they explained time travel and the lore is on par with the franchise. The twist, the soundtrack, the voice acting, and the animation are superb. A few nitpicks are that some events or behaviors of some characters don't make sense but only work to move the plot forward. Also, Eiko fighting a Terminator hand-to-hand and getting punched multiple times in the back and surviving... that's a little too much plot armor. Despite these flaws, I believe this is worth watching. 8/10.
In episode one the terminator fires off his akimbo anti material rifles at the resistance in a TA-TA -TA- -TA-TA way. I found that to be a nice nod to the opening theme of the franchise.

Dark Fate- attempt to be ´´sequel´´ to the original two films by ignoring all other (Superman Returns basically)
Terminator Zero- anime spin-off that honors the original while also creating new interesting story without any need of Connor or Arnie to be included to mend the story
Personally I like most of the franchise, though I find it funny that this franchise really did everything possible to stay alive over the years.
Well truthfully it was Misaki and Malcolm who gave Kokoro life.
Malcolm will come back though, as a child. When Eiko becomes pregnant in the future.

I did too. Great series! It really makes u think…
I did the same thing
pssh! that's nothin'. i binged watched en entire season of dragon ball in a day which has 5 discs.
Plus its animation, can do so much in animation like violence scenes and actions thats otherwise restricted or banned in live actions hehe
It’s weird that haters are calling this a woke series when I didn’t pick up on that at all!
This is head and shoulders above anything post T2 imo!

The theme song hits harder than a cyberdyne systems model 101
the music on this show is perfect!
Omg I love this comment
Dang didn’t notice
I noticed that too!!!

That would be a crazy twist
My take is that the Prophet is Reiko, Malcom's daughter. The age doesn't match up but it would make sense if she traveled back from a farther time in the future.
Honestly, I think animation ( partially cause it means we can get some good gore ) is a good place to take this series going forward. They tried making new trilogies and it didn’t work out so making short seasonal shows/standalone stories would be good to keep the terminator train going. That and games, resistance was a blessing for this franchise
Personally, I enjoyed this.
It was a trilogy of failed would be trilogies. Kinda impressive when you think about it 😆😅
Yeah it's definitely the best thing happened to Terminator since judgement days.... And indirectly acknowledge John Connor and other resistance leader
No fate, but what we make
Yep the main point of this was, You cant change what happened, but you make a new own path
No fate but what we dark fate for ourselves
Can’t believe how good this show was
Other easter eggs:
Eiko after pushing the Terminator down the elevator shaft says, "He'll be back."
The dog barking to let the humans know that a Terminator is close by and then attacked the human resistance is also a callback to Kyle Reese's life and nightmares.
The assembly line of T-800s is a callback to the T2 teaser trailer
The 1nn0 line of robots in the underground mall for storage and Kenta doing work on one of them is also a reference to the T1 robots in storage and the TX does reprogramming on them.
Man. This franchise timeline is more complicated then the Zelda timeline.
@@baileylarsen9439 💀
@@badbodynotsofit2046 ya
I hate this theory because thats totally not what was implied in the original film
@@IaMaPh1991 Well, the John Connor from 2029 who sent Reese back had to come from somewhere.
Because they are all different possible outcomes in their own timelines.
this is by far the best explanation. Thank you!
binged Terminator Zero. it was good. and so confusing. hope they make more seasons.
@@kassaken6521 I think Japan Will be the main human haven for the resistance, not just Japan, it's gonna be interesting to see Kokoro's PR in action after her initial campaign opening xD
Hopefully we'll see some open warfare, i guess Kokoro will have a head start in developing her droid army before Skynet, she HAS a T-800 at her disposal and it seems like this Japan was advanced in the robotics department, suggesting a big infrastructure for their construction
Terminator Zero is better then all the Terminator sad movies except the first 2.
Exactly! I’ve been saying the same sht and it’s really strange that you have some haters here and there calling it “woke garbage” ! Lmao
I’m not sure we watched the same series then
Sarah Connor Chronicles started using the alternate time-lines first with them realising that making changes to the timeline means their future is different so someone else can be sent back from the new timeline with different agendas only for them to make more changes but sending people back to the same point in time before any changes are made means there are multiple time travellers from different futures who want to make changes or stop changes and none of their futures exist any longer.
Yeah that's how you knew the two girls were definitely not human
I mean that thing goes for Terminator movies and that is what made Terminator 1 and 2 iconic.
Does plot armor bother you that bad
Or have you put into consideration that plot armor can be a combination of bad writing or unsure direction
@@MichaelLee-ny8kn or have you considered its not just for you?
I mean since if its bad writing and direction is in fact a problem for this show then the general consensus for this would be for sure bad. But then again the ratings lies heavily that critics and the viewers rated this anime pretty high.
Like its badly written then evreybody would clown on this for sure. But again that is not the case despite the show of course having its own share of flaws as most anime/series have.

Why do y'all keep referencing Hellsing Abridged? Sorry, I'm just hella dense when it comes to this stuff
I hope it's because they think team 4 star is doing another round.
The anime also referenced the Subway terror gas attack of 1995. That is the context about what Misaki said when Eiko was trying to look for weapons
Overall it was great show I hope the show is in the top 10 for weeks . I hope it’s like cyberpunk edgerunners and it finds its footing . Hearing about this show via Heavy Spoilers is peak... Heavy Spoilers.
Where did the Koneko go during Episode 3. I demand my robo kitty to return damn it!!
The two boys from episode one in the toy store were similar to two kids in T2 shooting at each other with toy guns. The photographer in one of the episodes is a loose call back to the photographer in T1 and T2 and Dark Fate possibly. There were quite a few nods and references that made me smile.
I think the red head chick is the nanny in the future
This is the best terminator story I’ve seen in a long time, perhaps ever. Super epic storytelling, made me cry sometimes, goes deep where no terminator has gone before

I just watched this but cant understood fully, glad you just uploaded a explanation
Loved it. If they don’t make a season 2 I’m making a time machine to go back and “convince” the Netflix team.
No, it's not similar to the Matrix.
The Matrix is similar to Terminator.
I really liked it. I hope they make more
0:17 I wasn't even aware that there was an anime for Terminator coming out in the first place so that's pretty dope I really want them to reboot the Sarah Connor Chronicles or maybe even bring as many of the actors as they can back for a revival cuz that was probably the best terminator franchise has gotten since the second movie
The 4th film tried to tie into all of them and say "No, it was always like this, but we still have to make it so"
The 5th movie tried say "There's actually a source to all of this, but lets start another universe also!"
The 6th movie tried to "I am the alternate universe"
This Anime somehow does all of that.
Also loved it lil pocket bubble line existing out of the pre terminator 2 alterations
Loved this! 10/10❤❤❤❤
I knocked out the series in one night, I freakin loved it. It brought down to a more grounded , GOOD story. I hope we get a second season.
This show was better than I expected it to be. Phenomenal show for Terminator fans. Enjoyed it more than the past two movies.
Aside from some plot armor moments, and probably the most amount of plot twists I've ever seen, this series just rocked!!! I really enjoyed the whole philosophical debate about humanity. Whoever wrote this was pretty clever.
Animes are knocking it outta the park when it comes to story. I didnt think anyone could make a decent Terminator story anymore, hope is restored!
The T800 in The first terminator film at the Gun shop asks for a " phase plasma rifle with 40 watt range" 😂😂😂
There was a scene where 2 kids played and said they had laser guns, that's a refrence to T2
I really hope there's gonna be more to this story. I just finished watching, and I can't believe there's not more buzz about it here on TH-cam.
Season 2 lets go netflix dont f this up like usual
Isn't the terminator metal a special extra hard metal? I mean, I find it hard to believe that those weak robots were able to break the terminator.
@user-jx6of3tf7u Thanks, great points.
For a good while, thought Eiko was a terminator/robot like Misaki. But when the Timothy Olyphant's character shot Eiko and their was blood but no robot metall undershowing, I was like "Oh snap, she actually human." 😅
Nier automata??
This is the best thing to come from Terminator since the first 2 and I actually loved dark fate 😅
A couple of films of this story would have been amazing.
I don't like anime but gave this a shot due to the familiar franchise. It was better and considerably deeper than I had expected. So much better than anything after T2, and probably even a little stronger storywise, the number of episodes aside.
I havent seen you for I while. I have to say, you look fantastic :D
Dude this was absolutely amazing .
Thank you so much 😊
Having that human say hasta la vista to Misaki was a nice touch.
Thankyou for creating such a great series to cling to and relate as a Terminator fan . Can’t wait for the next season
I don’t understand why the T-800 in the anime was scarier then the actual movies😭😭
Because the T-800 is usually completely naked and does not have muscles left on its body, it is like a mechanical zombie.
The ending also is a neat unintentional homage to the SNES version of Robocop vs. Terminator's ending where Robocop is holding up a Terminator's skull.
I hope it's better than the abominations that was T3, Genesis, and dark fate.
It is
It feels like a return to basics that also does it’s own thigh
Agreed, I think it's the best terminator since T2, it was awesome 👌
Not only is it better than those movies, it also makes sense of them as to why they are so different. Each Terminator movie post T2 is a different iteration of the time War. The original time system used to be a paradox/loop, but now it's alternate universes/ timeline iterations.
@@kassaken6521Its ALWAYS been alternate timelines/realities, people just didn't figure it out. Even T2 has elements of an alternate timeline.
This series was amazing and the score was iconic. Pleasantly surprised me.

I thought this animee very refreshing ,its really good
This adaptation of anime for the Terminator IP is the most faithful I've seen. 8/10.
The matrix reference when kakora goes online with the green text and dial up sound
I thought it was better than most of the terminator sequel movies.
In episode one the terminator fires off his akimbo anti material rifles at the resistance in a
TA-TA -TA- -TA-TA way.
I found that to be a nice nod to the opening theme of the franchise.
