Several years ago PSA sent me back a few 9s and 10s with massive corner creases that I pulled pack fresh that were minty/gem. They also sent me a few 4s-6s with the same issue so some they caught some they missed but they did all of them. They only reimbursed me for those that they graded 9 or 10 and they did not admit to damaging but instead said they were oversight
To be fair pack fresh cards can still be unpacked with damage, but it is wild that alot of people get issues with damages from PSA grading.. I have done some with PSA and I had a great experience but I consider myself also lucky. Happy grading! :)
I've had egregious damage happening to cards in my recent bulk submissions. I need to document this way more diligently but also keep the process streamlined. It's the nature of the beast, but still quite frustrating. I have a JP sub on the way back with 7's on Modern Japanese cards...
I'm glad I'm not going crazy, had this exact same issue with whitening on the corners of a recent bulk sub. Some easy 9's and few 10's all 8's. Was really upset with it tbh. Thanks for bringing this issue to light dude. Hopefully we can do something about it
I had this happen to me last month I sent in an order there was a card with a huge crease in the corner and they gave that card a PSA 10. It was mint before I sent it. They emailed me back after two weeks and sent me a label to ship it back to them to “investigate” the issue. I am going to ship it to them and hopefully they give me some money back. Always take pics of the cards you send in and I have started taking pictures of the initial scan they post after your cards arrive. If it looks different after that it is painfully clear they damaged the cards.
I really wonder how this even happens. Like, I feel like you could drop a card on a corner from pretty high up and it wouldn't look as bad as these. The other thing I wonder is whether this happened after grading. Some of this damage seems pretty rough for a 9. Maybe some issues with encapsulation? But then again, why did only the 9s have damage... Hope they make this right
I had the same thing last year with a bulk sub... I wonder if it could be something to do with how the guillotine cuts the cards out of the semi rigids? Very bizarre.
I had the exact same issue on a 105 card submission top right corner exact same damage. Luckily it only happened to about 5-7 cards but still its unacceptable.
i have a japanese jungle snorlax 143 that was already graded by cgc as a 9 but i believe it could get a 10 at psa but tbh this makes me not want to send it in because it’s in completely perfect condition, perfect corners, perfect centering, and all the details are there… scary
this exact same thing happened to a group sub that i was in.. multiple people send to one person and they all had the same damage when they sent them back....
This happened to me recently I have a case open with them. They damaged multiple cards on the corners. One card they even got some type of smudge on. The damages wasn’t there when I sent it in. I showed them the intake photos they too when it first arrived to PSA bs what they sent me. Let see how it goes.
Sucks but how is that still a 9 with such an ugly corner? lol I had this issue with my comics at cgc it’s damn near impossible to prove it was done on they end due to how many people touch it between you and your grader . 🤞🏼 for next time
I have some minty/gemy 151s tag teams evolutions just nice cards and im terrified to send them in. Im racking my brain on how to start my own grading company because this isnt ok these marks are machine marks they obviously are using robots and not people to handle the cards and it is wrecking cards
Just remember that these instances are 1% of all my submissions. I've graded hundreds of cards with PSA after this incident with no issues. Also, other companies like CGC are quite reliable on the whole as well. If your grading just for protection for personal collection items, you can always just buy a nice top loader binder and keep them well protected in that way. For selling, trying to grade your own cards will gain you no value (probably will lose you value) in the overall market.
Ok but look at the pictures of what PSA has on their website. They show you what the card looks like before they graded it. Hope it helps make or break your case buddy
They are no longer available after the cards are graded, unless they show up in a place that I didn't find. They are replaced by the slabbled scans. I mentioned this in the video.

Between PSA's 10 rates and multiple stories of mystery damage, their reputation is in massive decline.

My friend and I both had the same exact issue with many cards. About 10% (20+) of the cards had back upper right corner issues some worse than others.
These were also within the last month with 73 certs. Can you update on this.

Swapping out good cards for bad ones is not unheard of.
