Brought to you by physics! When you're heavily intoxicated you don't tense up in the accident so there's much less breakage of bones, tendons, blood vessels, etc. When you're less intoxicated or sober you react by tensing up and this is bad because instead of your body going ragdoll and moving with the momentum it absorbs it and you go crunch...

I’m 54 now but at age 2 my family was in an extremely serious car accident that came very close to taking the lives of my mom and I and actually did take my little brother who was only 2 months old. When a vehicle is pulled over to the RIGHT HAND SHOULDER and WITH THEIR FLASHERS ON as this TRUCK DID and 99% if NOT 100% of ALL TRUCKERS DO not very many passenger vehicles do but all vehicles are to pass in the left lane if safe to do so. Apparently this person driving even if he/she was sober DID NOT PASS AROUND the truck IF IT WAS PARKED on the side of the road or was driving down the highway AND IT APPEARS WENT OVER into the right lane the trucks lane and hit the truck. Which ever scenario the DRIVER IS AT FAULT not the truck manufacturers or trucking company or even the driver plain and simple. If they were drunk STOP MAKING EXCUSES FOR THEM!!!!!! Most of these cars nowadays have very thin metal. And some of these crash tests they crunch up like a cardboard box. They need to have stricter standards on the way cars are built and they need to use heavy metals. I rather get crappy gas mileage but at least the car would hold up in a crash. Blame our government standards for this. I guess gas mileage to the government is more important than a car holding up in an accident. If this was an electric vehicle believe me these people will all be burned up. Don't buy EV'S. Electric vehicles don't live up to the hype and most people have turned them in in 5 years or less the studies have shown. EVS are for lazy people that don't want to learn how to work on their own car and want to get ripped off by the dealers for the ridiculous repairs that these cars will need when they start to age.. in the long run you're not going to save money with a E.V. you'll pay for it in maintenance costs down the road.
