It's Vegeta's voice actor that really sells it. The fact that he sounds virtually identical to the original, in voice and writing, makes DBZ Abridged as great as it is.
Fun fact: in the german dub Vegeta had a rather high pitched voice actor when he first came to earth. They changed the VA in the Freezer arc, which helped a lot in terms of taking him seriously.
He doesn't sound like Christopher sabat, Gozar back when he was on TH-cam did a much better impression of Vegeta, but he was too quote unquote silly to be on team 4 star

But his character is way more relatable and admirable than goku's . Vegeta's character development is some of the best in all media. That's why Vegeta is one of the best characters. After gaining SSJ1 and Instant Transmission, he could've very easily prevented a lot of stuff from getting as out of hand as they did, had he been around at the start of the current arc(s). I mean they literally had to give him a virus just to stop him from beating 19 & 20 right away (which would've meant Gero would never have woken up 17 & 18). It wasn't until Super finally came along and gave us more villains who were instantly OP from the start (Cell and Buu basically had to level grind for their powers to eclipse Goku's) that this was finally no longer a problem.
Yknow, I’d like to take a moment to point out how chill the cyborgs were most of the time (in current timeline). 17 was 100% willing to stand back and let 18 and Vegeta go one on one and only showed up when the others were about to jump in. They weren’t going around and killing aimlessly, the people that were killed were entirely collateral or pressed their luck. Like seriously feel like if ANY of them except Goku attempted to just sit and chat with the cyborgs, they’d probably have a pretty good conversation.

Could be that in Trunks' timeline, since the Z Fighters weren't prepared, Gero had more time to reprogram the Androids to basically zero in on them annihilating the population. There's a theory I read that by the time Androids showed up, it could have been 19/20, but no one survived long enough to tell that to Trunks. Vegeta most likely was capable of defeating 19 and scare Gero enough to get him to retreat. Since Bulma was never encouraged to show up this time, she wouldn't have known that 20 was Gero. This would give 20/Gero time to finish the programming on the twins. This programming would have zoned in on killing the Z Fighters, most likely something went nuts and they decided "nah, we killing everyone." Thus why they weren't as chill in Trunks' timeline.

Trunks been fighting the androids but he’s been barely surviving if gohan had survived he and trunks could’ve trained and gotten more than powerful enough to kill the androids
After coming from future for the first time to warn the z fighters regarding their future, trunks tells them to prepare for the future battle with the androids. So the z fighters start training. This is the point I guess Vegeta and Goku become stronger due to the training.

It's funny how the writer needs goku to do everything in the story and that's exactly why goku is my most hated character in anime

I mean he defeated friza, kid Bo, golden friza, hit, giren and even after he died against cell he helped Gohan in the final Kamehameha as a ghost.
But the bad part is that the writer himself said he made Gohan weaker after the cell arc in order to keep goku as the hero and he said he hates vegeta and he won't let him defeat any antagonist because he wants goku to be the strongest
Hxh, naruto, fmab and many other shows don't do that and it actually made me hate goku as a character

Thinking about it, why was Trunks the weakest super saiyan of this time period?
He had been a SSJ since he was a teen when Gohan died, a lot longer then Goku or Vegeta. And he comes from a future where you needed to survive the androids.
Shouldn't Trunks have been the strongest SSJ at the start of the android saga?

Justin Lynch ss is scaled off ur base strength. Just cuz u had as earlier doesn't mean ur the strongest with it. Ss is a 50x multiplier I think so trunks is prob weaker in base form=weaker in ss form as well
He's still an inexperienced fighter compared to Goku and Vegeta. And it is just a multiplier of your base strength.
Trunks been fighting the androids but he’s been barely surviving if gohan had survived he and trunks could’ve trained and gotten more than powerful enough to kill the androids
After coming from future for the first time to warn the z fighters regarding their future, trunks tells them to prepare for the future battle with the androids. So the z fighters start training. This is the point I guess Vegeta and Goku become stronger due to the training.
To quote TFS Cell "You're a novice, an amateur. You're surrounded by fighters who have seen more action in a week than you in your entire life! Hell, at your age, Goku had defeated an entire army, several demons, and send a rabbit to the moon!"
Silver lining, at this point all Trunks knows best is how to survive battles, not how to fight them.
